Kent used to be A LOT better BEFORE metro housing! Also, the university land lords have let a ton of houses get run down. Kent was at it's PRIME around 1985 and has been sliding since. Sorry, it's the truth! My family has been around over 100 years and have relatives that were mayors of Kent and Brady Lake. I KNOW the town!
I am from Philadelphia and I am planning on going to Kent State. I am a little afraid though because I am not used to the idea of a small town. Any advice? How is the winter in Kent? Is it snowy every day ? This would be very helpful for anyone from Kent, or better off Kent State to give me any advice in regards to Kent.
@Mcerda14 you'll be fine in Kent, It doesn't really have that small town feel, more of a smaller-big city feel. Just be cautious like someone else said Kent has opened up a lot of Section 8 housing and metro housing projects and the inner-city problems of Cleveland, Detroit, and other cities are moving to Kent.
Campus Security is great but seems like every time I look at the paper KSU students are being robbed at Gun point... But also Kent is sliding down the wrong path, Murder and Crime rates climb a little each year..
@Fachete thats what happens when you advertise you have a great town. more people move in and the more people, the better chance that the town will have criminals.

I wounder why doesnt it Show Silver Meadows, the South Side, brady lake, or Indian Valley... oh yea cuz no one would want to move here if they saw that side of Kent.... A video like this could make Clevelnd look like a nice place to live
