I'm Argentinian, but honestly don't give a fuck about those Islands. I think's it's pretty damn stupid to fight for that piece of shit nowhere land. Our Army only invaded that territory because the Militar Government was no longer being supported by the masses, therefore they were looking for some kind of consense in the people. No one really cares about that crappy place, It's cold, it's not oil rich (your people has recently wasted millions of pounds diggin' in wrong places)..
@danysaschaja i dont think you really are argentinian... because you say no one really cares about the islands. Military government or not, they belong to Argentina for reasons beyond material matters. They belong to Argentina historically, as Gibraltar belong to Spain. War is awful, even those who went down there think that, but they were willing to give their lives for them, so be a little more respectfull. And everybody, here in Argentina at least, believe that LAS MALVINAS SON ARGENTINAS.
So you are the voice of the people now huh? How come you say EVERY BODY THIS OR EVERY BODY THAT....WHO ARE YOU?! you don't know shit. My father was in Malvinas and I know about this war a lot more than you think. All I said was that I DIDN'T care about them, and I gave my opinion about a piece of worthless history. Just something that every one that has read a history book should now.
@danysaschaja I know for sure that what you are saying could cost you a little unpleasant moment with one or two (at least) veterans of the MALVINAS war. If this conflict is "worthless history" for you, i have to understand that your opinion about our independence war (19th century) might be the same. The first sentence don't make sense at all...but i couldn't expect less from you.
The independance war was related to economic interests end of story. READ SOME BOOKS PLEASE!
I read about malvinas, I've seen videos about malvinas, I've talk to my father about malvinas. I've received phone calls to my home saying how this vet shot him self blablabla. Bunch of ignorants who gave their lives for a wrong cause. Pitty on them. And my dad's included of course.
@danysaschaja Economic interests!!! Please, get another citizenship: norwegian maybe. If you are ashamed of your past, please take my advice. "Bunch of ignorants who gave their lives for a wrong cause"???. FUCK YOU, MISERABLE PIECE OF SHIT!!!! My dead countrymen and wounded gave all they have and you are inssulting them. Ah, Ok, you include your own father.I guess you don´t love your own father... that explains everything. Sorry boy, i will not waste my time with you any more. You´re an asshole.
@GustaroR Gibraltar and the Falklands are ours, they're called the spoils of war. Deal with your pride because you're not getting them. The people that live there are totally pro-Britain, but who do you think we should ask about their sovereignty?
@IRememberTheOldDays GIbraltar and MALVINAS/Falklands are yours??? You stole them, you occupied them by force... but they are not UK. Picture this: me and my family move to a desert island... and because we are the only people there, we claim it´s argentinian, but it belongs to another country. Who'd you ask about sovereignity? And about the name, start calling them Malvinas too. That's the real, historical name.
@GustaroR Its really not, its Falklands. They were named by a British sailor when he discovered them, the Viscount Falkland. Anyway its pointless trying to argue with someone who's just bruising for a fight over little more than jealousy. Aint it a pity all your whinging is utterly frivolous, they're British aren;t they! :D
@IRememberTheOldDays So History begins with the Viscount Falkland??? And the name Malouines by the french sailor, before that?? They belonged to Spain, and then to Argentina. They are surrounded by Argentinian Sea. UK occupied them by force (old pirates you all). And the UN call them Malvinas/Falkland or Falkland/Malvinas, one or the other. So it's not jealousy: it's the right thing to do. So yes, you win the war. No, they are not british. LAS MALVINAS SON, FUERON Y SERAN ARGENTINAS!!!
@GustaroR Ah, I didnt not know that, well thanks for correcting me, ignorance is truly abhorrent. Look , I dont relish an argument that gets personal, Im just patriotic and have a lot of love for my country. Also I have love and respect for other cultures (who'd have thunk it :L ) but its sorta down hearting to watch us get slated over an island which no one really rightfully owns. Each have equal tender really. But seeing as we did win they sorta are British, victor reaps the rewards and all .
@IRememberTheOldDays And with patriotic feelings we say they belong to Argentina. Not only because we fought a war: it's because they historically (and geographically) belonged to us. UK fought a war and won. That doesn't mean UK has right over them. Boy, "victor reaps the rewards and all"!!! Well, it sounds like piracy and it's really not gentlemen's behavior... In fact, it just gives us the right to say that, like pirates, you stole and keep, but you don't own.
@GustaroR But I think you'll find only France pips us to the post on ownership, if you'll care to look. They were the first to claim the islands and then British colonies were established a few years later, so by reason I should be debating this with a Parisian or some such. But seeing as they dont care they've forfeited their ownership, and by default the Islands are British rule
@IRememberTheOldDays That's not true. Even the french Bougainville said that Spain discovered them. And the Spanish Crown claimed in Paris that France have no right to be there (Port Louis). And they agreed. Only then, UK stablished a fort in Sounders Island (Port Egmont). But Spain took them back (1770). And in 1774 UK abandoned the islands in accordance to a treaty with Spain. So, if someone has to debate something, it's Argentina who has the right. Not France, not UK.
@GustaroR Im not sure what you mean by "France said" . Who did they say that to? Because Im fairly sure its a documented fact. Anyway, you say Spain. Argentina isnt Spain. And Argentina isnt soley Spanish.
@IRememberTheOldDays Bougainville himself acknowledged that Spain had discovered them first and Paris agreed to give them back: these are documented facts. "Argentina isn't Spain..." My dear, you are asking me to teach you American History: we became independent in 1810. All spanish possessions here became ours. So Malvinas (or Malvinas/Falklands according to UN), once spanish, are argentinian.
@GustaroR Oh no no no, I know the history books. But you may have been relinquished from them, but you're not them. No matter how much you want to be, Latina heritage, you're not, you're a mix of races (like Britain) with a primarily Latina percentage. Im still looking for the sources of Bougainville's admittance, literally, all I can find is documentation supporting French claim.
@IRememberTheOldDays The Virreynato del Río de la Plata was spanish. We got independent from Spain. So, every single part of the territory that belonged to Spain belongs now to Argentina (I'm not talking about Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia, etc). The mix of races is not an issue here. It's about the land, you see? Therefor, Malvinas/Falklands are argentinian.
@GustaroR IM not sure how accurate all your information is, but Ill take it from you in good confidence because you are at least being honourable enough to remain civil with me so we can have a decent conversation. I thank you a lot and it's been a pleasure my Argentinian counterpart. But I have to say, although it does sound quite privateer like, we have the islands at the moment and they are British dominion. So I maintian they should remain as such. :) My belief
@IRememberTheOldDays And as your words sound as a goodbye, i have to say it's been nice exchanging opinions with you. Obviously we will never agree about these matters except the sad fact that UK has the Malvinas/Falklands now. But the historical truth is that UK occupied them by force and had no right over them. In time they will be ours again. Maybe not during our lifetime, but who knows?
@GustaroR And, in addition, Bougainville and his French counterparts only discovered the East portion, the British then colonised the West. So, the claim to either party isnt solid.
@IRememberTheOldDays Its not a question of who colonised first: it's about the rights to be there or not. UK didn't have any right because it was part of the spanish territory. So, as History teache us, in 1774 Uk had to abandone his fort.
@GustaroR but one simple question, surely we should adhere to the Islander's wishes? Now I know the common answer here would be to say, they're British so they'll obviously claim britain, if it were the reverse then obviously the reverse answer would be. But the thing is they're historically not. They are a mix of several nations who voluntarily claimed British nationality in '83. So, what else is there to argue about?
@IRememberTheOldDays The kelpers (you named them "kelpers") are not a mix of nations. They are british citizens. So they claim accordingly. They are the descendant of the people who UK stablished there. Notice that in 1833 UK retook the islands by force (again...). Read again the example I gave before. Me and my family move to a desert island and claim sovereignity. Do we have the right to do it? Because we live there, we have the right? The answer is NO.
@robert140602 First was yours then are ours, what hapen with you? there's nothing wrong for an english to believe the islands are yours, I could not wait less, because i really believe the islands are ours.
the USA was very supportive the day the Peruvian Peace process broke down Casper wienberger ordered half amillion gallons of fuel to be dispatched, photos of Wide Awake airport show a continous flow of USAF cargo planes its a bit like giving Royal Navy man a tin of beer he will drink it give to a US Navy man and he will wonder what to do with it but besides that the war was won by the courage of those who served and died
@elnudo83 You are wrong. In fact the LACK of USA help/support for the UK during the Falklands war, @ the time was cause for concern & strained the USA/UK "special relationship". Many UK politicians went so far as to claim it was dead. The USA offered virtually no help. Argentina was even using A-4 Skyhawks, bought from who? The USA. You need to learn how to separate truth from emotion. The do not, never have, nor will they ever, mix well.
@gjc82071 The USA offered no help? The ignorance of people who post on this subject is quite startling, because the facts are not hidden away. The USA proposed resolution 502 on Britain's behalf, which was instrumental in gaining worldwide support for britain. It also gave britain the latest air-air missiles and anti-sub technology.
As for not mixing well ever - what a generalist statement. What do you know? We are fighting together in Iraq and Afghanistan at the moment together.
@THthefirst Thanks, that's Interesting to know (although, there's no need for you to be a douche-bag about & or take it personally). BTW, for what it's worth, I was just quoting shit I read about in regards to the US/UK "special relationship". It claims the UK was pissed over LACK of US support for UK/The war. Now, with that being said, not to be disrespectful or anything, but go fuck your mother in her fat ass, ya condescending, arrogant, sniffer of shit stains in mens underwear. Good day!

You can see clearly that argentinian technological limitation is balanced with a significant amount of bravery, and incredible cleverness. Paying enough attention at that commander that shoot the exocets is possible to see a whole way to visualize the war filtering through.
As an American I am so sick and #@#$% tired of these losers weeping and moaning about the General Belgrano!!!!
.
The General Belgrano was a Strategic Threat the the British Forces. They sank her ass and I say good for the Royal Navy.
.
What the Argentines and their supporters FAIL to remember is that Argentina INVADED the Falkland Islands without any provocation or a declaration of War.
.
Argentine was ruled by a BRUTAL Regime at the time....Why not BLAME THEM and NOT the Royal Navy.
@ThoughtTraveler if you are a yankie then is right what you said cause you are no more than a gringo. Hey guy or gay why don´t you weep for that loseer of vietnam that were as idiot as you all, only english people an gringos can supoort them self no body likes you. And you think you know about histori you don´t know a shit.
@ThoughtTraveler we not gona blame any argentinian peole for taht cause the people want that war even know we want them back, it just the president we have now don´t want, ask any body they will tell you we want the islands back no matter how.
@ThoughtTraveler Look who talks! A pussy gringo who can't stop cryin' for all that losers that invaded 'Nam and were killed by black pojama people! Keep weepin' you coward shit
Look here you little 3rd world Argie pygmy. You live in the filth and squalor of your backwards ass South American shit hole and you want to talk shit to the British Army?
My Dad was with the Paras and he shot and killed quite a few of your little brown monkeys. You Argies were a bunch of pussies. Most of you wanted to surrender when you saw that you could NEVER fight on equal terms with us. However my Dad and his mates saw to it that many of you NEVER made it back.
@NolanRogers2 Me and you, you muggy cunt, hand to hand and will see who has the bigger dick... You're just nothin' but another coward youtube bully... Bring it on you poof, I'm fuckin' waitin' for you, I'm gonna make you look like your pussy hero Simon weston...
Ha. You are easy to bait aren't you? You started this bollocks with your little pussy rants and now you are crying because someone stood up to you? Oh boo hoo hoo you little pussy.
Forgot to tell you how my dad shot 1 Argie officer as he was trying to direct his men behind a half arsed barricade at Goose Green. When he went down the little brown monkeys that you call soldiers threw down their FALs and RAN like little school girls down the hill. He popped one of them too.
@NolanRogers2 Poor paki you are! For yer knowledge, members of my family fought yer cunts and fucked 'em up in 1806/1807. I got a lotta stories of my people killing your pirate cunts! Do I have to remember you who ran? I also have many "englishit" war trophies from those days on my own, it passed from generation on generation... so yer pussy daddy killed 1 young boy? Well, my family ancestors killed a lotta "englishit" cunts that times...
@SangreFederal Cmon man, you started an unnecessary shitfight on youtube and its getting more ridiculous by the minute. Who was right or wrong in sinking this-or-that is as conflicted as the war itself. All things said and done, the understrength Brits punched above their weight and retook the Islands.
Chapter closed, don't bother looking for historic fights to try and prove a point, its unbecoming and irrelevant.
@MudRat02 You're right mate, I reconigze it. But if you look well, you'll see I first answered a fuckin' yank who got into a problem which it's not his own, then this cunt gets in n' begin talkin' shit. I don't gonna stand any shit from a coward like this. I travel often to England n' I'd have not any problem to smash the granny outta this sloppy bastard's ass.
@MudRat02 I think -I was educated that way- that if you like to talk bullshit, then you have to stand with yer skin what you say with yer mouth. If you like to make a bully o' yourself, ok, but then -when someone stands at you- don't run away n' hide under the bed, lookin' for yer mama to protect you, just like this big mouth's poof did.
@WinchesterRanger - and i suppose you could have designed it so much better!! and never mind didnt even explode should be gratefuk it didnt else alot more men would have died!!!
And how many died in the Iowa in a non-combat, unofficial experimental gunnery situation - after a cancelled million dollar upgrade package for the main armament? Pathetic planning and decision making?
Who needs Exocet when you can have your oponents take themselves out?
Sheffield was caught, yes. Try to keep in mind however, HMS Glamorgan had an Exocet explode in the hangar and rip down through three decks. She came home under her own power.
What a contrast between the gracious, even complimentary, attitude of the RN concerning the loss of Sheffield, compared with the helpless bleating and rule-calling of the Argentines over ARA Belgrano in similar circumstances.
The British lost 6 ships to the Argentine Navy and yet still have a lot of soul searching about the General Belgrano.
The Argentines have mostly a typical 3rd world victim mentality about the whole affair. They seem to conveniently forget that it was their own brutal Military Regime that ordered the invasion in the first place. This same Dictatorship kidnapped and killed thousands of it own people.
I can`t believe how many ships were lost to the Argies, its a good job it wasn`t a country with a strong military that snatched the Falklands,Britain would never have got them back.

And about the name, start calling them Malvinas too. That's the real, historical name.
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR Its really not, its Falklands. They were named by a British sailor when he discovered them, the Viscount Falkland. Anyway its pointless trying to argue with someone who's just bruising for a fight over little more than jealousy. Aint it a pity all your whinging is utterly frivolous, they're British aren;t they! :D
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays So History begins with the Viscount Falkland??? And the name Malouines by the french sailor, before that?? They belonged to Spain, and then to Argentina. They are surrounded by Argentinian Sea. UK occupied them by force (old pirates you all). And the UN call them Malvinas/Falkland or Falkland/Malvinas, one or the other. So it's not jealousy: it's the right thing to do. So yes, you win the war. No, they are not british. LAS MALVINAS SON, FUERON Y SERAN ARGENTINAS!!!
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR Ah, I didnt not know that, well thanks for correcting me, ignorance is truly abhorrent. Look , I dont relish an argument that gets personal, Im just patriotic and have a lot of love for my country. Also I have love and respect for other cultures (who'd have thunk it :L ) but its sorta down hearting to watch us get slated over an island which no one really rightfully owns. Each have equal tender really. But seeing as we did win they sorta are British, victor reaps the rewards and all .
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays And with patriotic feelings we say they belong to Argentina. Not only because we fought a war: it's because they historically (and geographically) belonged to us. UK fought a war and won. That doesn't mean UK has right over them. Boy, "victor reaps the rewards and all"!!! Well, it sounds like piracy and it's really not gentlemen's behavior... In fact, it just gives us the right to say that, like pirates, you stole and keep, but you don't own.
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR But I think you'll find only France pips us to the post on ownership, if you'll care to look. They were the first to claim the islands and then British colonies were established a few years later, so by reason I should be debating this with a Parisian or some such. But seeing as they dont care they've forfeited their ownership, and by default the Islands are British rule
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays That's not true. Even the french Bougainville said that Spain discovered them. And the Spanish Crown claimed in Paris that France have no right to be there (Port Louis). And they agreed. Only then, UK stablished a fort in Sounders Island (Port Egmont). But Spain took them back (1770). And in 1774 UK abandoned the islands in accordance to a treaty with Spain. So, if someone has to debate something, it's Argentina who has the right. Not France, not UK.
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR Im not sure what you mean by "France said" . Who did they say that to? Because Im fairly sure its a documented fact. Anyway, you say Spain. Argentina isnt Spain. And Argentina isnt soley Spanish.
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays Bougainville himself acknowledged that Spain had discovered them first and Paris agreed to give them back: these are documented facts. "Argentina isn't Spain..." My dear, you are asking me to teach you American History: we became independent in 1810. All spanish possessions here became ours. So Malvinas (or Malvinas/Falklands according to UN), once spanish, are argentinian.
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR Oh no no no, I know the history books. But you may have been relinquished from them, but you're not them. No matter how much you want to be, Latina heritage, you're not, you're a mix of races (like Britain) with a primarily Latina percentage. Im still looking for the sources of Bougainville's admittance, literally, all I can find is documentation supporting French claim.
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays The Virreynato del Río de la Plata was spanish. We got independent from Spain. So, every single part of the territory that belonged to Spain belongs now to Argentina (I'm not talking about Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia, etc). The mix of races is not an issue here. It's about the land, you see? Therefor, Malvinas/Falklands are argentinian.
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR IM not sure how accurate all your information is, but Ill take it from you in good confidence because you are at least being honourable enough to remain civil with me so we can have a decent conversation. I thank you a lot and it's been a pleasure my Argentinian counterpart. But I have to say, although it does sound quite privateer like, we have the islands at the moment and they are British dominion. So I maintian they should remain as such. :) My belief
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays And as your words sound as a goodbye, i have to say it's been nice exchanging opinions with you. Obviously we will never agree about these matters except the sad fact that UK has the Malvinas/Falklands now. But the historical truth is that UK occupied them by force and had no right over them. In time they will be ours again. Maybe not during our lifetime, but who knows?
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR Hmm maybe, who can tell. And yes, its been pleasant but a little long winded perhaps. All the best my friend.
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@GustaroR And, in addition, Bougainville and his French counterparts only discovered the East portion, the British then colonised the West. So, the claim to either party isnt solid.
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays Its not a question of who colonised first: it's about the rights to be there or not. UK didn't have any right because it was part of the spanish territory. So, as History teache us, in 1774 Uk had to abandone his fort.
GustaroR 5 months ago
@GustaroR but one simple question, surely we should adhere to the Islander's wishes? Now I know the common answer here would be to say, they're British so they'll obviously claim britain, if it were the reverse then obviously the reverse answer would be. But the thing is they're historically not. They are a mix of several nations who voluntarily claimed British nationality in '83. So, what else is there to argue about?
IRememberTheOldDays 5 months ago
@IRememberTheOldDays The kelpers (you named them "kelpers") are not a mix of nations. They are british citizens. So they claim accordingly. They are the descendant of the people who UK stablished there. Notice that in 1833 UK retook the islands by force (again...). Read again the example I gave before. Me and my family move to a desert island and claim sovereignity. Do we have the right to do it? Because we live there, we have the right? The answer is NO.

@danysaschaja islas de mierda??? ya se que se utilizo la guerra de malvinas para tapar la pedorra administracion de galtieri, pero islas de mierda?? los soldados que murieron fue por unas islas de mierda?? un poco mas de respeto
gerar166 5 months ago
@gerar166

@andresrojas22 We were 8000 miles from home, with a shite naval task force with only sea harriers, and a shitty missile defence system.
What defeated you was our nuclear subs.
Your navy was effectively hemmed inside your 12 mile limit.
All in all,too many brave men from both sides were lost in this pathetic war.
You want my honest opinion?

@elnudo83 You are wrong. In fact the LACK of USA help/support for the UK during the Falklands war, @ the time was cause for concern & strained the USA/UK "special relationship". Many UK politicians went so far as to claim it was dead. The USA offered virtually no help. Argentina was even using A-4 Skyhawks, bought from who? The USA. You need to learn how to separate truth from emotion. The do not, never have, nor will they ever, mix well.
gjc82071 1 year ago

@MudRat02 I think -I was educated that way- that if you like to talk bullshit, then you have to stand with yer skin what you say with yer mouth.

You are right on target with your comment.
They STARTED the war by unprovoked aggression.
