The main reason dell sucks IMO is based on the components that are used. most of the dells ive ever seen use hardware that is exclusive to that computer. For instance. Replacing a Motherboard on an old dell I have is impossible because some of the case hook ups are exclusive to that motherboard. Not to mention the lack of hardware in the first place. Dell is a company that thinks quantity over quality. they will try to cut corners if possible.

The Wi-Fi card in my Dell laptop that I bought in 2009 won't recognize Wi-Fi networks anymore while my iPod's Wi-Fi card still works after I've dropped that thing many times. I've done a driver rollback, refasten the cables to the card and reinstalled the driver, but nothing. DO NOT buy a Dell laptop. You'll regret it. Go for a custom built desktop, much better.

The 2400 and 4600 dimension systems actually had issues where dell forced people to replace motherboards when power supplies were dead. They should have done a recall

hmmmmmmm, PC's (including Dells) wont boot if there is something interfering with the CPU fan.  Plus, if you cooked the CPU, it wouldnt cause your whole comp to be fried. I couldn't imagine it affecting things like your Optical drives and HDD's...

to anyone thinking about buying a dell computer, don't bother, they might be well known but their computers are cheap and prone to faults, you will find with dell that compononents are obsolete in a short space of time and cannot be upgraded due to inferior, dated mother boards and power supplys. dell are cheap scates and use low quality parts that will be outdated in no time at all. their customer service is a joke. avoid dell computers, trust me.

Dell's problem is that they make they build their computers to last "x" amount of years - meaning quality of the parts is pretty low and the case design is pretty poor. All their casings have issues because they are microATX cases with horrible venting - parts overheat like hell. What kind of company has two factories just for taking in broken parts and "refurbishing" them just to send out to customers whose parts broke?

Obviously a company that believes in recycling. Most companies would just throw the parts away and they'd sit in a landfill for "x" amount of years. The quality of my dell is great, the software.. not to great but dell support fixes everything, they even come out to YOUR house to fix your computer.

No, refurbished means it's used. Recycling means that the raw material (e,g. the plastic) is broken down and used to shape a new computer - the materials of the computer would be recycled, but the computer is new in the sense that the parts were melted into their original raw form and are just as good as plastic that has been created first hand. Dell doesn't recycle - why don't you take a look into companies that do such as HP.

Anyone could dig into the trash and get customers vital private information which is supposed to be destroyed but they don't enforce it. Many famous people, including Stephen King's information, was exploited around employees.
