It's refreshing to hear songs like this-which are gems bcoz they really have meaning!!! Can this new generation follow suit and talk about feelings and relationships, rather than sex and lustful stuff??/!
..And if they could 86' those expressions like"I'mma hit that" or "I'mma beat it up"!!=(((
We have to be more progressive than that!!!..We have more value than those sentiments!!!
@str8outtatexas1...WORD...My son, nephew and their friends hear nothing but real hip hop when they are with me. They gotta know there is more than what they are fed today.
The message in this Whodini jam is awesome. I went to see them perform years ago as a much younger lady. I enjoyed them totally.
It is shameful that MOST of "our" community of "todays musicians" seem to have changed the message in their music to filthy, hate filled lyrics. Guess they can't make any dough without including that; therefore, what does that say about the people that buy it.....hmmm? Just askin'.
This is bomb!!!!!! Music just isn't like this anymore. I'm thinking about collecting all these old schools songs. I'm pushing 39 next year, and this new generation of kids are lost about creativity. Like every song they come out with is cheap and has the computer voice in every song. WHACK! :) Nothing is just cool, everything is about making the black man angry.
Y is Whodini soooooooooooo under-rated? Run DMC & Whodini were heavy hitting at the same time. Why no 1 eva give props 2 Whodini? When old skool rap is brought up Y no 1 eva mention Whodini? I never seen a group with so many hits and never, ever get spoke up on. Whodini is so under-rated that Utube don't have a video channel 4 them. Don't b mad @ me cuzz I'm just saying :^)

@msc32511 -I agree brah. I try to tell these youngsters at work about how smooth the rappers were back then. They dressed well, produced funky ass beats, and were fan friendly. People are going to say we're old and times have changed, but it's not that I can't accept change, it's that we're used to hearing great artist. This cut remind me of the early hip hop movement that still represented respect, talent and black culture. I was also at this concert at the checkerdome in st louis mo.
Fall of 1986 what a great song I was listening to Jesse Johnson's "Shockadelica and Whodini classic album and this beats LL Cool J's ballad "I NEED LOVE" by a year, I thought Whodini's "One Love" was a better jam and Hip- Hop was evolving from just party jams to storytelling that would bloom with P.E., De La Soul and other great acts. Hip- Hop since 1993 has regressed to coonery thanks to Dre, 5 Cent, Souljah Boy and Lil Wayne and the rest of the no-talent brigade.
men talking about LOVE had to be the 80's Because NOW you are a bitch & an Hoe and not worthy of love hell they don't even love themselves..Just the CARS the MONEY and the CLOTHES...THEY JUST WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL!...LMAO Clowns!
bunnybee11-i feel ya."i guess some of us are so damn lucky" classic.man this was 1 of my favorite whodini jams.i'm 43 n it seemed like it was yesterday when we were in high school bumping all this hall of fame classics. your right the shit they rap about today has no love.oh no that's to soft r your a "bitch ass nigga" if you talk about love. what the f...? thank u god for bringing me to life in 1966. we had the greatest soul,funk,R&B,hip-hop ever. i have 37,000 songs on my ipod 2 take me back
We are lucky to have been born in a time when there was real music, If not we would think the crap we hear now with the good "SAMPLED beats" is orginal good music! WHERE ARE THE MUSICIANS???????
@BunnyBee11 just do not blame it on the guys..a lot of you ladies who were lovable become bitches and hoes that loved only cars, money, clothes, shopping and brothers paying your bills......I'm just sayin......

@BunnyBee11 because Illuminati controls the artists and the industry nowadays becuz hip hop is a worldwide commecial market but hip hop in the 80's wasn't that BIG BIG!so they're like do what ever you want we don't care that's why you hear great music in the 80's!!!!!!!

Good lyrics. This beat is fire. Chitown in the house. Hay!!!!!!!Long live some of the greatest rappers alive. One of these days you'll have to learn............that this is some goooooooood stuff.
rakim and public enemy took this bubble gum shit to a whole new level but i have to admit that this is whoodini did their thing and i have good memories of bubble gum.
man o man ooooo fu@#en man this song i had to look through all their hit to find this song i've heard hella songs but this one sticks out by far u kno a song is da join if u put it in the back of ya mind and as soon as you hear it u go off TRU HIP HOP no other way to explain this hit
I love this song, it has a lot of meaning. I can relate to every verse. I really dig the dance routine lol. what happened to this group. This was the heyday of rap, where they actually talked about the things of life and not about guns and drugs, all of these new rappers are a bunch of phoneys. I'd love to be able to go back to the late 80s, early 90s except for the clothes. lol
Yeah, but a brotha did think he was fly if he had on some MC Hammer pants or a Whodini hat, or even a Michael Jackson jacket (80s). lol. I had a pair of parachute pants with a hole in the crotch that I wore anyway, as long as I kept my legs together I was cool lookin' lol. Those were the good old days, even government cheese was easier to cut and eat back in those days. You could wrap a $20 bill around a wad of food stamps and make it look like you had paper. Those were the days baby
Quality rap music representing HIP-HOP righteously

I love this song, it has a lot of meaning. I can relate to every verse. I really dig the dance routine lol. what happened to this group. This was the heyday of rap, where they actually talked about the things of life and not about guns and drugs, all of these new rappers are a bunch of phoneys. I'd love to be able to go back to the late 80s, early 90s except for the clothes. lol

except for the clothes..lmao..you're right, I agree. Those were the days.
