are there alot of really good trance/electro/euro-dane sounds??? and can it play like all the kicks and stuff while your playing??? im looking to buy one of these
This synth can only play one sound at a time. It's not a multitimbral synth. You can record strait to the computer with it though. This is possible because the x-station has a built in audio interface. Some PHAT dance sounds on this baby.
for the price (around 400 used) you can get a pretty bitching synth. The quasimidi sirius, dave smith evolver, and many groveboxes sell for around 400 to 500 dollars. The x-station's worth it if you want an all in 1 synth. Audio interface (quite nice) midi controller, and synth.
The synth's "very" good for beginners, but other synths are better. I use soft synths, and my virus now. My novation presets don't ever see recording.
I haven's used mine as a synth since it got pwned sideways by my Virus TI, but it still serves as a righteous neat controller for my softies & modular.
nice work dude. im was thinking of getting an x-station myself, this vid has swayed me for sho. my friend has the xio and regrets not getting x-station. if your getting pissed with the 25 keys, why dont u buy a cheep 61 key and attatch it through the midi?
I don't need a 61 key keyboard to control this badass toy, because I already bought one.
AXIOM 61 key
Although I never hook up the axiom to this toy, I do use it on a daily basis. This synth's only use for me now is as a midi controller, and an audio interface. I hardly ever use it for it's sounds.
For now the AXIOM is really the only midi controller in need in my studio. fantastic keys.
Hey, arent you Elliots older brother and isn't that ET in the corner? Great job synthesizing your tones. I was thinking about the Roland SH201 and this keyboard. hmmm. Thanks alot. If you put out an album you could market it to UFO watchers.
now i heard that there is only 200 presets so if i programmed my own patch would i have to delete another preset or does it have enuf storage for custom patches.
thanks alot, im getting the 61 key version tomorrow morning :) would be nice if it had more storage space tho i guess. oh well what u lack in memory you make up in sound quality.
Im thinking of getting one of these as they seem like the best synth to get in the price range . . But can u record all of what u were doing into a "daw" as in all the effects n real time controller stuff ?
hmm... sounds nice. damn. I want to buy one, but i don't need all the interface stuff on it. I already have an audio interface. Can't I just get the synth only for cheaper price novation? :(
... I would really recommend getting an extra audio interface. Having two gives you amazing capabilities. I've recently discovered that I can run my phantom power mic into my synth to use as a vocoder. This would never be possible if you only had one audio interface.
You can get an x-station for like 300 on ebay, and they're wonderful midi controllers.
But If that doesn't matter to you I would recommend buying a novation nova off of ebay.
I'm shopping for a new synth and I love the sounds on this one. You have some chops too, man. Keep it up!

hi!
can you make (program) your own arpeggio presets on X-Station? If yes, then please explain how can I do this? Thanks ;)
rolla070 2 years ago
can you plug in a mic to the x station and run cool effects through your vocals?
lisamp7 2 years ago
Hmm absolutely!
The x-station alone has 2 audio inputs that you can plug any kind of audio into, be it XLR or 1/4"
The x-station also has built in effects (delay, chorus, reverb,eq, and one other one)
It's also an audio interface which you can run into any DAW, and record.
The quality is quite high
It's a powerful machine

it can be used as an audio interface??

Not true! I has 8 note polyphony!

@xBOBxchaos this is also a usb controller, so you can just plug it into your computer and use software synths

Is it worth buying this just using it as a synth? I wont be using it as a controller with a computer.

I would have to say no

You would have to delete a preset
I believe you can have up to a 128 custom patches
There are plenty of presets that you would find suitable to delete
XYtoTheDoubleG 3 years ago

I regret not getting the 49 key

I'm really fascinated with this synth, and about to buy one. Your video was inspiring. What do you mean that you can use the synth as a vocoder? How?
teknoah 3 years ago
The x-station doesn't have a vocoder, but the novation ks does.
note that the KS doesn't have a audio interface, and the x-station does.
Very nice plus
go for the x-station
XYtoTheDoubleG 3 years ago
really sick...may have just swayed me into getting one.
did you make all of the sounds just using the onboard sounds and effects or did you have it running into some other program?

everything you hear is coming out of the x-station
get one man
very affordable, and so much fun

Phuzz828 3 years ago
I would agree with you
It's the best synth for the price
As of the recording into your "daw" you can record with effects, through the x-station's 2 audio inputs audio with phantom power.
The recording quality is quite good also.

Love every minute of it! Going to get myself an X-Station too, I so fell in love with it!
Did you use it as an audio interface yet? Is the quality / latency reasonable? Thx!
peter47a 4 years ago
It's funny you ask
I bought this synth nearly 2 years ago not even knowing there was an audio interface on it.
I went out, and bought a separate audio interface.
Now I have 2!!!
haha
It works great
Although I havn't figured out how to use the audio interface, and midi without running midi from my x-station to my other interface.
I know you can do it without all the cords, but for now I'm extremely content with the way it's set up.
