  • gotta admit thecount off from the tenor was beast :D

  • yeah, i am from west. im glad things have moved forward...i guess it sometimes depends on what kind of talent comes in each year and what kind of work ethic comes with them. and i totally agree with the part about cockiness ;) it happens to all of us. good luck with the rest of the season.

  • @WHSPercussionist212

It does, there are years where you get people who don't give crap about anything and it drags the whole line down..We really don't have a tradition of excellence at North like Central or West do but we strive every year to do our best. Cockiness runs in every drummer..some more than others..We don't have much of a season left but Good Luck with your season and amazing performance at the Band Spectacular!

  • what school is this?

  • @77comecaca

    it's Davenport North High

  • @77comecaca this is davenport north high

  • i would calm it down a bit mr. 'Center Snare'...whoopty doo...i'm 'center snare' and drumline captain too, don't let it go to your head. and as far as which grip to use, it doesnt matter; traditional looks cooler, but i'm pretty sure most kids learned match first. we use both traditional and match.

Apparently, 2005 was just a crappy year for north. congrats on improving.

I wouldn't get too cocky though.

    Have a nice day.

  • @WHSPercussionist212

    i'm sorry about that..

I'm not drumline captain though, just center snare. You're right, grip doesn't really matter, it's just that most people prefer to see a line using traditional over match. I'm just saying, the years i've been at North, this year we're now able to play 8's clean and that says a lot coming from North. Every drummers' attitude display cockiness but i'm sorry if my comment below made me sound too cocky. I'm guessin you're from West?

  • realize that this was 5 years ago. I'm on this line now and I am the Center Snare and this video is a joke to the line today and is embarrassing to watch. We play traditional now and got new uniforms by the way so when you see our new video, it's the same drumline but in a different uniform. These two cadences are still used today but has more complexity to it...Right now the line consists of 4 snares, 4 bass, and 2 tenors/quints. NHS Drumline 2010-2011

  • our drumline has 9 snares, 9 basses, 5 quads, and way too many cymbals. and were playing at the tournament of roses in pasadena this year, so theres something to be said for a big drumline. start recruiting, and keep it clean.

  • 5 basses, but only two snares? I think the line could use a little rearranging...

  • too bad they are playing match......thats lame.......cool cadence none the less

  • that's really dirty

  • Imagine that. A school in a city! . I hope you learn how to spell better in your next school!

  • wow..the tenors look so effin retarded

  • snares are too uotight ..loosen up a bit let ur arms hang a little.. ( i am captain of my drumline so im not saying this to put you down) but seriously loosen up and you could be alot better but goodjob

  • @kenshinthereversed, Im also the captain of my high school's drumline and i (the same as kenshinthereversed) want only to give advice. The snares should learn to play in traditional and loosen the heads a lil bit, the heads sound like they could split any second! Haha. Work alot on marktime-ing and you should see improvement in no time :) great cadence overall!!

  • GOOD SHIT!!!

  • wow shut the fuck up..this is horrible.

  • good stuff reminds me when i was back in a line in high school...

    michael

  • man i wanna play the my snares like taht im still learnin basic stuff but somday ill be like one of those guys

  • you should set your ambitions higher. go check out phantom regiment or any of the to drum corps for some real sick lines.

  • the other video i saw you guys were horrible but this is a little better but please for the love of god get some new covers, but work on your accents

  • hella good coriography if i spelt that right :D. good job

  • *choreography

  • not bad. though sometimes the snares and basses went flip flop.

  • this one is a really great cadnece...i was wondering what you named it because i thought maybe the drumline at my school could play it...it'll take some time to get it but it'll get there...also, its really great...the quality of the video makes it sounds bad though..overall, a really good cadence

  • does anyone have any idea how hard it is to come across a drumline that actually PLAYS ON THE BEATS?!

    i enjoyed this video :)

  • check out chhs drumline...

  • I hear some Homey in it, right before the tenor part (that's from dick (Devils) :P)

  • Thats sweet, you guys are really enjoying it. i can tell. One questiong though, How come the snares are not playing traditional? It's just odd to me.

    but other then that, sweet

    Koodles,

    Kate

  • lol we dont play traditional at my school either...

  • u guys need work on ur taps and accents.

  • You guys have a REALLY solid bassline. That is really hard to come by. The snares and tenors fall apart a little too much, especially coming out of visuals. Not a bad cadence, you guys just need some more complex licks.

  • NICE!

  • not bad. could use some cleaning. but overall good. just add some more quint stuff.

  • look theyre not going for the DCI look where its all technique and complex beats. theyre rather going for something that would get the attention of the everyday person. nothing wrong with that.

  • ditto, they look like they are at least having a good time, that is what it's all about.
