  • if your game is using the wow engine why is there draw distance limit fog like 500m infront of the toon?

    I understand its alpha right now but imo if your using the hated wow gfx engine then you should compensate for 11y old gfx with expansive draw distances and view scapes.

    I like the idea of a world building sim set in an mmo avatar based fantasy game but for an indie company hmmm the load on ur servers from real time building is gonna be insane unless you instance every island

  • @geebus80 We are not using a wow engine, the engine we are using is called Atavism Online. It is our own engine we build our self's. As for building, we will be building the game as players are playing it and so far we have no load problems. The players build islands will be their own instance yes but only to keep it separate from the main story line. If their islands gets very popular we could incorporate it into the main story line and generate revenue for them.
