  • Smashing. Love that music too.

  • picaos

  • Hey great vid, what did you do to make the 120fps?

  • This should be a ad for online banking. LOL

  • so, much, macro!

  • I'm guessing there's frame blending in the first shot of him shooting the automatic rifle. The casings flying look really cool with that blending, actually! They look a bit dreamlike and remind of the super-speed shots in the Matrix (not the slow-mo bits, the others). Good use of slow-motion!

  • A lot of "good video" comments???? What is the content of this trailer? Nothing, nothing, nothing. A guy shooting in slo mo around. totally nonesense.

Sorry. had to hit the "dont like" button. I have seen to much contentless "we-are-the-super-duper-american-dickless-guys-but-have-guns-and-nothing-in-the-brain-" videos.

  • @pierrepasler I think the point is more to showcase the use of a DSLR for the purposes of slow motion.

  • @pierrepasler

You don't get it and probably would be more at home with an emaciated, limp-wristed lame chick-flick than some machismo and action/adventure epics.

If you don't like it, go make your own movie / video clip to the same standard.

  • WOW!!! Now that was Epic!!! Bro Good Job

  • Verrrrry Gooood Video, my question is, if I shoot with 7D in full HD standard speed 30p how many minutes I can shoot with 16G card?

  • was that a blank firing gun?

  • You Pro

  • hi did you do a how to video on vimeo?

In any case I really enjoy that excerpt allot-you gotta be a john woo fan .....yes?

I entered vimeo beyond the still search for "Rebel Klone" theres a little fight scene in that short that I wish I could have shot lots of slo mo ....let me know if you want to work on a project I have allot of dslr equip in Miami

    John

  • no muzzle flares?

  • I've had a 7D for almost a year now and it's a great body, but it needs a fast and sharp lens to really take advantage of its DSLR capabilities. My main complaint with it is the rolling shutter, it's horrid. So if you plan to seriously shoot anything with it you need a respectable tripod and a rig set up.

  • Video looks great man, but I gotta say the audio is was really sucked me in - great work!

  • Great stuff!!

  • @philipbloom Thanks! Looking forward to more of your AF100 videos and hands-on reports.

  • I just think its really funny that the Thompson is firing yet nothing is coming out of the nozzle, which I understand because you guys are using blanks. Pretty cool work once again(:

  • The 5 Scores of Hardey Leone

    Content: Rather Good

    Quality: Average

    Idea: Very Shit

    Presentation: OK.

    Sound: Shit!

  • when will you upload something like this in 1080p? ;)

  • 7D can't record 240 fps...

  • whats the difference between t2i and 7d video wise. Some say the same some sear theres difference

  • @thatniggbeme7 There is no difference video wise both shoot the same frame ratesetc. The 7d does offer a bit more as to white balance and isos however nothing pertaining to quality. I do own both.

  • love your videos. hoping to make some short films this year in school...just hope the equipment here is up to par, post production tools and all...got any tips for making a bad camera look good in post production just in case?

  • where editing in Final CUt and the slow mo its from the camera or edtiting sys

  • Super cool!

  • no muzzle flash?

  • Dude where to get the cheapest 7D?

  • an amazing video you are really smart in your job.. thanks for this intertaining, but i have i small question, how did you made this excellent slo mo? in the 7D or by a program in PC?

  • Little bit of Tarantino going on here! ;)

  • great ... wahts the anme of the Song?

  • how did u slow down the footage? vegas pro 9? or after effect? or something else?

  • I'm really impressed with the lighting setup in this video and the 7D. VERY GOOD! Well done mate! Cheers!

  • WHA!? I was just looking at some test videos and i knew it did excellent video at 24-30fps but slow mo. I think its time to invest in one, great video!

  • this looks way to fake.

  • An excellent video, the use of slow motion is really superb. The one thing I feel the need to point out is the Thompson. You have smoke coming out of it's ejection port, when it should be seen coming out of the muzzle at the front of the gun. The smoke itself is excellent though, very good post-production editing going on there.

  • @cxcxvb Thanks. All of the smoke is real. The thompson is a 1970's Japanese MGC cap gun like the ones used in background scenes in pre 1990's movies.

  • man i really love this clip its awesome :) i did some slowmotion test with the d90. of course nothing compared to this, but anyway. I although bought the nikkor 50mm 1.8d lens, and it's awesome, i coudn't think of a better leens (ok maybe the 1.4) which lens did u used for this video?

  • @Comixfreak thanks! I think this video was shot completely with the 50 1.8.

  • when's it comin out??

  • Hi, can you please tell me how I shoot @ 60fps & 120fps using my 7D when it only seems to shoot @ 24, 25 & 50 fps? Thank you.

  • @TomHallMusic

if you did'nt found an answer yet: you gotta change the video settings to ntsc first. then you can shoot in 60fps ;) have fun

  • @tensaidesuka Thanks heaps for that - I really apprecaite it!

  • This is just a teaser? Whens the next Episode coming out?!

  • My guess is it's optically retimed in Motion 4.

  • WHen it will finished?

  • dude you forgot to ad your muzzle flash to the tommy! great vids you have posted on here though!

  • How did you shoot 120fps on the Canon 7D? That I know of it only does 60 25 and 24 fps...

  • I wonder about that too.

  • how does this guy take awesome quality videos?

  • indeed, what used for the smoke?

i'm sure it's not AE, must be real smoke from the gun... so are those real?

    great video!!!

  • ahaaa i just looked closer and saw some mask edges... so it must be some kind of pre keyed smoke footage...

    still amazing video!!!

    believed

  • You are seeing youtube compression artifacts, the smoke is real

  • this is great im gonna get one...what lens did u use to film this?

  • Can u review the footage over cranked in slow motion or is that only possible to view in post? and do u have a rig for it? rails etc? can u recommend? i have Brevis rails...

  • ARE DOES REAL GUNS!!!??? this is so cool..!!!

  • Your caps is turned on.

  • Your birthmark makes you look badass in this video.

  • @rosspeplow

Birthmark? I thought that was his camoflage paint?!

  • Its time to buy a 7D

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

    I loved it.

  • cool vid mate

  • Did you use action essentials for this? Video looks great!

  • What kind of light did you use ? Hard light such as Fresnel in conjonction of some fill ? Please tell us. What about the audio ? It sounds so clean ! Terrific job dude !

  • Thank you. for the firing scene I used 2 2k Fresnels with an additional soft bounce card. For the audio I redubbed everything while editing. Thanks agian for watching and commenting

  • @Eyepatchentertainmen: How did u fix aliasing issues in post?

  • this is really good, nice dude!!!

  • like the shot you picked. nice work.

  • Nice work! What lenses did you use which shots?

  • Hey!

I am thinking to upgrade from my Nikon D90. The choice is between Nikon D300s and Canon 7d. Something that attracts me with Canon is that it has full HD and the possibility of iso adjustments during recording. Canon has no time-barring the filming. Maybe you who have tried both brands can come with an Recommendation?

Thanks for all of your videos you've shared with us here on youtube. I hope you continue the next year. Merry Christmas.

  • Thank you. The 7D has far greater video controls and much better video quality than a d300s. The d300s video looks almost exactly the same as the D90. It's worth it to upgrade to the 7D.

  • Comment removed

  • are you kiding me? that was made with a digital slr camera? and I thought my Nikon D90 was the best

  • The canon's are really awesome. Check out the 500d, 5d mark II and the 7d (you are watchining now) and they are can do 1080p!

  • you did actually shot this clip with a canon 7D?!!

  • yessir. Shot completely in the 720p mode and then fixed any and all aliasing in post.

  • very very amazing, nice job!!!

  • This is awesome work! I love your films.

  • thank you!

  • Very nice work as ever. Regards

  • When are we getting the Episode 2? I'm waiting for it! you have an interesting style of story telling

  • HEY,GUY ,ITS TOO SHORT

  • what glass are you primarily using as your video toolbox?

  • How do u do this cool slow motion. Oh and kick ass birthmark! lol

  • Great shots (get it?)! Might be nice to add some behind the scenes commentary to some of these videos so show how it's done, although this is more of a trailer-type video though. I just ordered my 7D today! Thanks for your good work!

  • Dude! the slow mo was awesome, it captures emotion really well, the angles were great! the smoke looked very good too. Great job, thanks for posting this. Has it been easy to record with the 7D?

  • Thanks. Yes, the 7D has been great to work with. excellent still and video camera

  • Well done and thanks for the entertainment

  • I have canon 7D and and slow laptop (Core 2duo 1.4GHZ, windows), how can I edtit 7D movies. Is there some format that would be useful for me?

  • Thanks for the comments! Your best bet would be to get cineform and convert the footage into the cineform codec before editing.

  • Well first off, it's impossible to edit Full 1080p HD Video on a 1.4 GHz processor in th first place. At least have a 2GHz at slowest. Even though Canon's HD video is considered an amateur format, it still is HD and uses larger file types than your average AVCHD camcorder. If I were you I'd just save up for a real editing system. YOUR OTHER CHOICE is to film in smaller formats or just export the video as a proxy or something.

  • actually Mpeg 2 format works well at 720p on my old duo core laptop in CS4. If i'm editing for youtube or not at home and want to work through some ideas I just down convert and it works out great.

  • you are a real artist man!

  • Great production m8! Keep shooting! I'll keep whatching!

  • how did you film that without capturing the muzzle flash?

  • You are obviously well versed in FCP studio or one of those kinds of things, so for the love of tommyguns and colt 1911s add some muzzle flash please, much appricated.

  • hi there!

    can u tell me , please...how can u get a 120fps in 7D or in any software?

    great video!!

    cheers

  • Sure can! just scroll down the list on the right side and look for my canon slow motion tutorial

  • wow no muzzleflash?

  • how many guns do you have lyng around your house?

  • can't wait!

  • very nice

  • are you italian?

    "lo chiamavan vengeance"

    or is a citation?

  • MUZZLEFLASH would have been icing on the cake

  • awesomE!
