on my way to buy komplete 6 and I hear the only difference between a full version and the upgrade is the sticker. Is this actually real. doesnt the software check for an earlier version before it lets you activate?
After much investigation, I'm afraid that the Native Instruments Service Centre is the thing that will check for previous versions, so you'll probably still have to pay for the full product. Sorry about that!
See reasons like that is why I dont pay for software, im a poor student on a budget and these huuuuge companies charge such outrageous prices for software thats outdated within the year, thats full of compatibility issues and not worth the price tag they slap on.... If they made it affordable maybe people would actually buy it...
@Taud I think the whole reason they're so expensive is because you're buying the license with which you can make money from the product, which is why Adobe, say, grant licenses for a much lower price to students and stuff, on the provision that they don't make money with it. It sucks but that's what the pricing is all about. If you can make squillions with their software, they're going to charge you for the ability to do so!
@LorDandMaster80 Oh, I never asked why the pricing is as such, im well aware of how it works, i was just attacking the fact that its so expensive and raising prices is no way to combat piracy, you can be sure if i made "squillions with their software" that they would sue me for a cut of the profits despite it being a legit copy or not, its just how corporate america works...
@LorDandMaster80 Oh, I'm well aware as to WHY they're so expensive I didnt ask why, I was more or less attacking the fact that they do so in the first place. You can be sure even if i had a legit copy and "made squillions with their software" they would still pres sue me in court for more money its how corporate america works....
@Taud But I can kinda understand why it is that these things are so expensive. Quite beside the fact that they clearly put a lot of work into the products, they have created some tools for people to make money. I think they're quite within their rights to sue people for making money with their products without a license. It would be the equivalent to someone stealing your work as a poor student, publishing it and making aforementioned squillions off it.
@LorDandMaster80 Yeah theyd be well within their rights to due so, but I dont have anything published and im still just a poor student, actually a software designer student which makes these comments sort of amusing, im just somewhat bitterd by the industry before im even in my career...
@Taud S'gunna be a good career! I jest. But yeah, it would be great if things were so much more accessible and then more people could be more creative using the software but I guess this is the business model that works for the companies.
Students still get discount pricing though, but I don't think Native Instruments offer such things.
I'm a songwriter aswell as a producer from Bristol and I'm currently in college about to finish how can I get into the whole production songwriting industry like you have and get an official "job" doing it? Is there any advice you could give whether I seek out management or an agent or what how does it all work? If you like you can email me instead of writing on here for everyone to see lol!!
@ihumpdump I would agree; the more musical professionals know about you and have had good experiences with you, the more success you'll get. But that's why it's always best to have a manager, so that they can sort all that out for you while you spend your resources writing and producing songs.
It's my job at the moment, writing and producing songs and remixes; it's something that I've done for years and just really, really love it! I've got a few remixes out there and my own solo album on iTunes.
Komplete 6 is such an amazing set of tools, it's like musical infinity in a box! You can actually do anything with it!

Hello! Very nice package, but what is your opinion about Omnisphere Spectrasonics versus NI Komplete 6?

Networking is your to "break into the industry." Simple creating songs and uploading to Myspace won't do any good to you. you have to reach out.
