The game is called.. 'CENTURION: Defender of Rome'. I used to play it on the Amiga (the best version) and still play it on the Megadrive! Nice big instruction manual - I paid £10 - £15 for that game, pretty hard to get hold of from what I know (Mega-lo-mania was £10 as well).. Worth it though. You can get some bargains from car boot sales - Strider, Ghouls and Ghosts and Shinobi all 3 for £5! Altered Beast £1! I love it! XD

In the UK you pay a small fee to have a stall/car boot (trunk ^_^ ). I love them, its always best to get there early - they are usually on Sunday mornings over here. Plenty of Megadrive games dotted around and all the others. I got a sweet pile of RPG's recently for the PS2, they were very cheap.

I loved this game especially the "diplomacy" part where you could threaten or suck up to enemies turning them into citizens, allies or vassal states. And of course ANY game which lets you put elephants in your army rules:) I never got the chariot tournaments right though...

Ha ha, yeah, I never understood them either - now I have the instruction booklet hower I can actually win races! Talking to the other tribes was great as it built on 'Civilisation's diplomacy, more options.. I loved those historical games - all kids should have to play them at school!

Absolutely cool. Centurion. Played it on Amiga and then on PC. Still have it. ;) Though on PC the sound sucks really, so I had to turn it off. With the advent of the Total War series, those ended the need for the game. It was brilliant before Shogun. Then my dreams came true.
