I love Canada's national anthem--so beautiful, and so easy to sing in comparison with "The Star-Spangled Banner". The US national anthem's melody was taken from an old British tavern drinking song, while "O Canada" sounds as though it was composed by a trained musician. Beautiful words, too.

My father was born in Canada. He was six when he moved to the states and adopted US as his country. But, when we would visit our cousins in Canada and to this day ... I never see a dry eye in the crowd of Canadians that sing their Anthem. That tells me a lot about a country that is so passionate about their Anthem. Great song. Simple and straight forward!

I visit Vancouver by the Olympic Games in 2010 and it was just amazing perfect organized and a great atmosphere. Also the landscape is awesome. I find myself humming this anthem all the time, that's exactly why I'm on this channel eh. After 2 months, I started to actually sound a little Canadian. One of the things you guys do that's really cool is end your phrasing on an up note, like a question. It's very nice sounding.

Canada(western) is so tied to it's English roots, whereas the US is really a different mix, BC was very Brit. I liked my time there and was sad to leave. It's a very polite place, with very considerate people.

@messedmushroom +1 your post. I was lucky enough to spend a summer on Vancouver Island, BC. Wonderful place and wonderful folks, lot's of 'aboot' and lot's of 'eh'. It may be regional to BC and Alberta but who cares, local color is what makes this marble interesting.

It was fantastic, all of it. The summer weather was completely unbelievable and even though Tim Horton is not your leader, I really like his lunch specials. American's don't understand so cut them some slack eh. :-) Viva Canada!
