  • Owned lots of great cars and I've owned the model they sued above, the 901, so called the 1st 911, a 997 Turbo and even a 997 Carrera S which a lorry crashed into me and destroyed it at a light. When I take the Carrera S before it was smashed, what a good day! rides excellent, power great, corners great, brakes well and easy to mantain. All Porsches are the same. Great! Old ones are really tempermental but fun to drive. Test of real driving skills.

  • If I measure the value of a car by what Jerry Seinfeld buys I might as well go back to playing with my Tonka tractors. Having said that the Porsche 911 is an incredible vehicle. What happened to the Boxster in this comparison? It handles better than most modern cars.

  • 1:02 SWB?? Looks like a LWB to me

  • Nice video and I agree in the final result but why the hell can no one in the video pronounce the name correctly?

  • mclaren f1 shuold be at 1but they are saying that we want to take mclarenf1 at 1 but

some problems like very expensive ' and you have to sit in center of the car critc rply that we dont want sit in the center we want that we will sit in side ans a beautiful lady sit with us and to she is to sit in behind of me other wise this should be at 1 i saw this episode

  • @Hsandhu900

Mc Laren F1 should not be on 1 place because:

    1. There is only couple of them built.

    2. They are too expensive to buy.

    3. Too expensive to maintain.

    4. Too expensive to insure.

    5. And you certainly don't want to crash one.

It is just a car you keep in garage and brag about it ,but you will NEVER EVER see it go fast on auto-bahn or even see it parked because just staring at it will hurt it's paintjob.

On other hand you will see 911 doing all mad stuff because it is everyday car!

  • the miata should have been #1 and the porshe #2

  • @lodapappu

Check out eveyrthing it has won, and how competitive it has stayed for almost 50 years now. What has Lamborghini ever won in motorracing anyways?

Porsche 911 has won LeMans, Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring, Paris-Dakar rally, several IMSA titles, Group 5 sportscar titles, Monte Carlo rallies, hill climb events.

Name one supercar that has won as much in various forms of racing?

"Big centre of gravity"?? Sigh, you didn't pay much attention in physics or English class did you?

  • im surprised this is the NO1 car..... iv driven a porsche, it felt kinda clinical.. i mean very serious... it was not a lot of "fun" to drive... and i thought thats wat sports car wer all about... but then again it was probably just me...

P.S if you see the greatest ever motorcycles ul c the difference between a "rider" and a "driver".. :P

  • Porsche is the Greatest Ever Sports Cars!!!!

  • That 'hammer throwing' bullshit had to be the worst explanation of something, in the history of explaining things. Why the fuck did they keep that in?

  • @comanchio1976 I stand corrected, the cigar-turbo bullshit was even worse.

  • I used to know how a turbo works before I heard that dumb ass explanation, now I'm not so sure.

  • At 0:29, I belive it's called a PORSCHE 911, not a Porsch 911.

  • CHAD McQueen is a douche... his father was cool!!

    Here is one for Chad

    /watch?v=No0xDPFoMq8

  • Nice to see Chad McQueen turned out okay.

  • Is that Tiff Needall narrating.

  • Mercedes 300SL Gullwing No.1 !

  • @TheFlyingPineapple

    Agree!

    Mercedes-Benz Das Beste oder Nichts

  • To me the same design over the years just comes from laziness.

  • 911 best?Strange...Sorry Porsche guys!

  • 911 turbo is a hellva lot better

  • porsche carrera gt...BEST

  • maybe even.....buggati veyron?

  • @malevolenceXXXensues

That's spelled Bugatti. And how many of those have been made the last 45 years? How many races have they won? The 911 has won LeMans, Daytona, Sebring, IMSA, World Sportscars, Rally races, Paris-Dakar rally etc etc. The concept has been so successful the 911 has remained essentially the same since 1963, so they are doing something right with it.

  • @McLarenMercedes ok you made a point there

  • @malevolenceXXXensues buggati only got speed speed doesn't mean is a good car.

  • @y8art105 true enough

  • #10 is the top of the scale in these ratings, right? Otherwise, how can they put the 911 & Miata above icons such as the Enzo and Countach? FAIL!!!

  • @wingfeathers00

This isn't a top 10 list of ICONS. The 911 has essentially remained the same sine 1963 and the aircooled engined was used until the mid 90's. What exactly has the Countach WON?? As a matter of fact when was the last time Lamborghini won anything in ANY racing series? The Countach spent most of its time getting fixed and the carburettors tuned, when the Porsche 911 could be abused to extreme levels and still work. An "icon" with an useless aircondition and zero racing pedigree

  • @wingfeathers00

And if you really want an ICON. Check out the McLaren F1 from 1994. That one actually DID win the BPR sportscar racing series twice and won the 24 hours of LeMans in 1995 first time trying, which only 1 other manafacturer has done since the first race in 1923. In 1998 they took the production car top speed record to 240,1mph with a McLaren F1 and it is STILL the fastest Naturally-aspirated car ever made.

As for the 911. It won LeMans,Daytona,Sebring,Sportscars,Rallies,IMSA etc

  • @McLarenMercedes yea i didn't noticed. and ok

  • @wingfeathers00

The Miata re-introduces the affordable light sportscar the same way the British had sold them in the 60's and 70's. Only this time they actually didn't have bad electric and leaking soft tops. A concept which proved successful and made them a lot of money. A concept totally incomprihenisble for a pimp like yourself.

You're the kind that would put Britney Spears above Jimi Hendrix or Bob Dylan because she is more famous and has sold more.

You're the epitome of "fail" you clown

  • well, whats left for me to say except...Porsche, there is no substitute.

  • when i watched this vid, it had 911 views! da ja vu

  • ehrrmm.. da ja vu?

  • With all of these people, do you think they could pronounce "Porsche" correctly. Get it right!

  • Fact correction: The Chevrolet Corvair was the first production car with a turbocharger, which debuted in 1962. 12 years before the first Porsche 911 turbo in 1974.

  • They meant one that actually worked...

  • so true

  • @90TGP

BMW had a turbo in the 2002 in 1973 before Porsche too.

Also the Corvair wasn't the first production car with a turbo it was the Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire offered slightly before.

Whatever the case may be Porsche were the first ones that had a lot of success with the turbo engine. Saab were the first ones to sell a significant number of turbo cars in the late 70's.

  • @90TGP I know your comment is a year old but I believe its wrong. Olds Jetfire had it that very same year and went into production first. Lets not forget that in the 30's the Bentley had it also.

  • @90TGP maybe they were talking about the european market?

  • you guys messed up on the explanation on how a turbo works. 1- the exhaust is not recycled into the cylenders. We all know this. exhaust gasses from the engine drive a turbine . then the gasses escape. this turbine is connected to a shaft that drives the compressor . which compresses . (a-ha!!!) outside air into the cylenders to , with help of more fuel, make a bigger explosion and hence more power. journalists aren't always car people. good vid.
