check power supply-first of all. the connector is crappy. maybe the internal battery can cause this as well, but i'm not sure. take a look at vamp2 yahoo groups. i think i have read smthng similar there.
plug (pull) the power supply into (out off) ac socket with power connector already attached to vamp.
is there any difference comparing to vamp2? what i've figured out, still without usb. Is there still short silnce when changing to preset where different amp mode is used??
@rododendrron i own a vamp 2 too, so i meet the same problem with you, there is a short silence when changing the amp mode. I just watch the demo video and i find when he makes a change in cabinet, in the same amp mode, the silence just comes, again. :S
Hey there, iv lost the manual and have forgotten to turn this thing on, feel like an idiot. Is it two buttons you keep depressed for a certain amount of time?
S1 is "configuration mode", means "studio 1". There are 5 configs, S-studio and L-live modes. Some of them use different signals for L/R output, like no cabinet or preamp simulation on one signal path. See manual for details. It's very cool feature. Not common, imho, but very useful.
hi, i have one question. i bought a v-amp from the second-hand without wires and the power supply two weeks ago. yesterday i bougt damaged power supply, and fixet it, so i started v-amp to try it. it works, the leds, pots and switches are ok, but there's no sound. i can volume up or down a little buzzy noise, i don't hear the guitar. What's wrong? I must to connect footswitch? I haven't it.
hi. the PS is kind of special. it has two branches (double secondary coil winding), 11V AC and 20V AC. 11V is used for TTL logic, LEDs, etc.., and 20V for audio amplifiers, power stuff...or at least i guess so. So, imo, 20V wiring is damaged/bad connected/whatever, or vamp itself is disfunctional. Did you try it with another power supply?
I've bought mine from second hand too. PS was blown out, fortunatelly still in guaratee, so they've returned it with new , replaced, PS.
hi was just wondering if u or anyone could tell me whaere does the v-amp plug into on a pc is it into a usb hub and do all the cables come with it aswell also can u plau it into an actuall amp???
hi. v-amp has no usb, only midi (in/out) for pc communication and standard line out and phones output. you can edit all setting via midi and pc, from line out you lead signal into amp or pc soundcard line in. no usb, no digital or something :)
it has no power switch, so i'm turning it off by unplugging ac mains cord or ac mains socket switch. i think, its also recommended in owners manual. to unplug supply connector from vamp before unplug mains connector is little bit risky. built in power switch would be definitelly more comfortable, but i dont like connected supply to the mains without current take-off anyway.

grr, second part didnt appear, so once again...
first: check the AC voltage at PS connector, at those 4 pins, if ok, then
second: check the connector for PS. It's cheap china piece of crap and its easily worn-out and one (or more) contacts can be contacless.
third: (if these wont help) open vamp unit and check soldering/damage of connectors (in/out jacks), soldered (cold-joints) pins of parts, everything.
At yahoo vamp group you can find some info and/or help.

Gimme to know, what did you find out. I'm sure it's fixable. Post then a comment or send me message. Good luck!
