  • lol@nikonaustralia

  • you are the definition of arrogant ,stating you always get the shot, pros don't use point and shoots and making stupid bold accusations against me.YOU are amateur ,of course pros use professional equipment did i ever say they didn't of course they do .what i said is even pro's use point and shoots to be conspicuous. my words of inspiration and thoughtfulness have to be questioned badly by a complete and utter fool of your caliber. You have insulted over 100 years of photography i hope your proud

  • "I won" - Are you 6 years old?

Its the camera AND the photographer. Instead of wasting time fiddling around with "apps" and trying to get something that comes naturally to an slr, i actually get the shot. Using something that isnt rubbish is hardly relying on the camera. Thats a massively stupid statement. But hey, youve got a track record going..

You're obsession with idiotic schools of thought llike "no camera matters" shows your an amateur, completely ignorant of the professional world.

  • so many hurt coming from users of the other brand. please remember that this is a promotional movie and is meant to be a propaganda

  • Can't put my vintage glass on a Nikon without an adapter with an extra element in it to enable focus to infinity. Usually this is shoddy quality, but even if it wasn't, It's a deal breaker.

    No Nikon in my shop.

  • Dislike.

  • filthy commercial

  • This is biased at all.

  • The only reason I prefer Canon is because I grew up with it, but the new D4.... OMGGGG. :o

  • yes, buy a D3X make you a world-class photographer immediately !

  • I sometimes wonder, why spend a lot of money on a lens when software can do the same

  • @usermikes

    facepalm.

  • @usermikes fail. you keep thinking that and stay a crap photographer

  • @kuriu I've won contest with my photo's!

  • Since people dont do their own research there is a Sundance film now being picked up by Paramounde called: Like Crazy, short films and canne films such as: Merlyn Haycraft – Boxed Man Short Film and Cinnammon Chasers – Winner of the 2010 SXSW Festival. European directors are also using the 7D in films such as: KUNTHAPURA

Yes, its becomming a standard, all the Hollywood studios have bought several 7D's for their smaller projects, and the film Like Crazy is Paramounts first FEATURE with the 7D

  • @Pepingco While indy film makers are certainly using dslr to make films it still does not make it the standard no matter how many times it is said. I stand by what I said name one studio feature. Paramount vantage is not Paramount studios but a sub. It was also not financed by Paramount Vantage but they bought the distro rights for 4 mill. And for the record most productions when they need a crash cam use the 5d not the 7d.

  • Why so many hatters btw Canon and Nikon? my 1st Dslr was and still is my trusty canon xs

and my 2nd Dslr is the Nikon D7000, and i have respect for both brands ! i can tell that good glass makes a big difference on both brands even with my xs i get amazing pics with the 24-105l. Nikon and Canon debate is like the Yankees and Redsox endless but point less.

  • @Cagey75 funny how its the Nikon users that use insults instead of talking about the cameras instaed. Something must me wrong there. And my last comment was pointing out an irony, since hollywood employs the worlds greatest imagers and the 7D is considered industry standard now. Says a lot. But then, you can keep call us idiots if that's all you got.

  • @Pepingco I totally appreciate your post but where do you get 'Industry Standard' from? It used to be split pretty even but since the D3's ability to see in the dark, Hollywood has been heading over to Nikon in droves... With out both manufacturers we wouldn't have the amazing gear that we have. Both make incredible kit, it's just Nikon suits my style demands

of low light and critical focus.

  • It's hilarious that so many Canon fannyboys came to a video that clearly has 'Nikon' in the title. WTF is wrong with you idiots?

  • @Cagey75 Hey, respect Canon, their dslrs are comparable to Nikon's one

  • Can't we all just get along hahaha. Both Nikon and Canon brands are very comparable. That being said, Canon usually rates better than Nikon in comparison reviews when it comes to repair issues. Not being biased, just stating what I've seen in consumer rating results.

  • So he takes pictures of actors on a film set - meanwhile, hollywood are using the 7D to FILM the movies we are watching now.

    Hmm.

  • @Pepingco Into video? get a real high end VIDEO camera. Most photographers are more interested in stills ... Only a Canon head would big up their video modes ... yawn.

  • @Pepingco Actually any chance of naming 1 movie with a wide release, actually 1 movie thats actually a feature??? You will only see that on a D4 because it's the only camera that can record RAW to a Kipro.... Pep the kit you use is damn good but it's not the only one that can do what you want it to do. Lets all just stick to the facts.

  • @Pepingco Canon is for Video while Nikon is for Pictures. In my opinion, Cameras are supposed to be for still life but VIDEO cameras not Canon should be used to shoot movies such as RED Cameras

  • @david1q3 its not about what you shoot it on its who's behind the camera

  • @Flannimal26 Yeah, thats why pros use point and shoots...owait

The best cameras for pictures are medium format.

  • @callowaymotorcompany oh wait yes they do because they are not going to carry around a bulky medium format camera everywhere they go hence the name point and shoot.Better camera does not equate to better photo

  • @Flannimal26 No, they dont. The smallest sensor youll see a pro use is APS-C. Bulk isnt a factor on a shoot. If you were anything but an amateur youd know that.

Again, you're wrong. Better camera does mean better photo. If you have any kind of skill, youll take better photos with a proper dslr.

Facts are, unless you have a dslr, you wont get useable (if any) bokeh. And resolution only gets better as you go up the ladder.

Cameras matter and its wishful thinking to say otherwise.

  • @callowaymotorcompany

google 15 digital point and shoot cameras used by pros

there you go all your whole rant is invalid and you look like a complete idiot. As or your bokeh or the visual aesthetic of the background blur is so necessary how come citizen Kane or the Stanley Kubrick films were shot with deep focus in mind. This has brought me to the assumption that you prefer making up rubbish about photographers in the same way you presumed I was an amateur with no skill

  • @Flannimal26 Rant? If that was a rant, what isnt? The simple fact is, most pros use dslr's exclusively. Bokeh is important to most photographers. So is not having zero DOF. The exception doesn't prove the rule.

One random irrelevant source doesnt prove anything. Gear still matters, and you're still wrong.

As much as youd love it, im not going to argue with you over the internet about something obvious. Just because a camera CAN do something doesnt mean another camera isnt better.

  • Comment removed

  • @callowaymotorcompany Irrelevant? that link proves you dead wrong and if you knew what you were talking about you wouldn't reply.Does that reply have anything to do with my original post that it isn't the camera its the person behind it.you just failed to give a coherent response without resorting to technical specs and bokeh which really shows you rely on the camera more than yourself.Oh do you know you can buy an app which gives you bokeh.you know what i call irrelevant all your reply's.I won

  • Nikon lenses are vastly superior to Canon.

  • @hillbillymojo Thumbs up for that :D

  • The only Nikon's advantage against Canon is high-ISO performance on high-end camera. On the other hand Canon triumph Nikon on video performance, affordable glass (while giving exactly same quality, some of them are even better: 50mm 1.2, 85mm 1.2) and more affordable camera body. CLS used to be Nikon's Ace card, but since 7D, Canon has quickly close the gap.

  • nikon has great sensors. Thank you Sony! LOL. haha

  • Some Canon low end rebel series have over 350,000 actuations without failure. Any Nikon users here with that many on any Nikon model without failure, including the high end models ?

  • @SuperMangn never had a shutter spit since 1981...

  • Comment removed

  • Nikon nailed you for $200.00 USD for shooting tethered while ATG & Canon provide them free.

Charlie and Jason, you guys should try and use the ATG AK1 or AV1 Un-Tethered Systems.

    They rock!

  • im happy with my canon t2i...

  • yeah, d3s got nice 720p mode, where the 5d mk2 only got 1080p, and costs less :/

  • errr this is a nikon channel, they'll show the advantages of nikon cameras, not canon daa -.-

  • Just wait for the 1Dx. Best of both worlds (video and photo) The D3s is good, but the 1Dx is better.

  • @benjitoon1 Good job dumbass, comparing a brand new updated camera to a dated camera that is due for an update itself. I have no problem with Canon, but at least don't post stupid crap.

  • @Wes2299

Right, but the guy is payed by Nikon to say Nikon's are best !

    Business ;-(

  • @benjitoon1 uhm, yeah. The funny thing is, the 1DX is a new generation.. comparing to an old generation camera is pretty sad. But if you see it comparable to the D3s, then we can say the D4 will eat the 1Dx alive, since nothing is comparable to it.

  • @benjitoon1

yeah i heard that one before

  • wow, so many "advantages"

  • 1D and 1Ds series of Canon have focusing issues (to think both are pro-grade cameras already). both are surpassed by the older D2 series of Nikon. Optically? my friend's 24-70 2.8L gave out a few years of usage. In comparison to my 28-70 2.8D which i have for like 5 years now and still works like a charm. Yea 5D Mark2 could do good on videos but that's it. That is all i hear from Canon fapboys.

  • wow, I didn't know that those Films were shot with that camera... Amazing. He's a great camera man,

    ;)

  • what do aussie's know about owt other than bar-b-q's and surfing..

  • The ONLY advantage for these guys are that their being paid to say all this....

    Canon blows Nikon vid away

  • @sirbob809 Actually I don't get paid, I have shot Nikon professionally since sept 22 1981 and will until I can shoot no more.... Fan Boi yes fool? Nah, not yet anyhow....

  • The 85 1.4 D is SLOW being d.motor driven from within the body thus it won't work with loads of modern Nikon cameras.

This fella needs to check out the Canon 85 1.8 or the Canon 85 1.2 instead - BOTH of which are far far better glass !

  • 1Dx will "eat" all Nikon cameras for breakfast!!!

  • good video but very annoying camera click sounds!

  • Nikon rules...!!!! :-D |o¬´

  • Nikons are shit.

  • What a load of bollocks! I'm a Nikon user, but a D3s is NOT more sensitive than the eye. What the fuck, how can they say things like that? Do they think ppl are stupid?!

  • I use BOTH Canon & Nikon and for video Canon sets the standard - HOWEVER I have to agree with you - this video is bollocks and is loaded with misleading statements. So a 5100 is as god as a 3DS - think NOT.

    Dense glass ????

  • @sirbob809 pretty sure I never said that, what I do believe though is that a part from a stop or 2 in iso and frame rate enthusiasts have the same opportunities as me. I have had to use either my D7000 or 90 on many occasions and no one knew the difference!

  • @gnosomai actually the sensor in the D3s is 6 times more sensitive than that of a cat.... pretty impressive huh? That baby can see in the dark like a cat full of carrots...

  • @jasinnikon In some sort of a linear sense you are probaly right...but the nikon sensor can't purr :-)

  • Nothing has the sensitivity of the human eye

  • what the fuck you nikon guys can even light your videos correctly

  • yah, I guess that they have the best video cameras, but canon wins the gold medal for more pixels that make the pictures look good but their video audio sucks so the winner of the best video audio is........NIKON!

  • SUCK MY DIGITAL CAMERA CANON YOU BUTTHOLES! You guys are gonna get bankrupped some day I tell you!

  • expeed is a sensor? :)

  • @lakanleonkilat yes, (:

  • @jsousafotografia

    expeed=digital image processing engine :)

  • @lakanleonkilat nah it's a processor and number 3 is like lightening....

  • He's a pro and he holds his camera like an ammature 1:31

  • @pimpjuice8921573 its all about comfortability.

  • @MapleKaomiii I agree. I don't care about the "proper" way of holding a camera. I just do what comes natural. learnthe rules, and if they're not working out for you, break them.

  • @pimpjuice8921573 on a low end camera i would say it's amature-esque to hold a camera like that because the legitimate way to hold it reduces camera shake... but he's able to use really high ISO and he's shooting in broad day light... so raising the shutter speed and reducing the camera shake is not an issue. Thus he can shoot however he feels most comfortably composing.

  • @pimpjuice8921573 that actually cracks me up...... I guess I do.

  • @pimpjuice8921573 if you actually want to ask, I hold the camera the way I do as my hands are extremely steady and I need to have access to the full reach of the focus ring so I can rack as quick as the action makes me. To hold a camera the way you want me to restricts me immensely and screws my style. If I need the support I use it but not in broad daylight like this video was shot in.

  • Canon or Nikon? the answer is , the photographer.

  • Pentax are the

  • Nikon glass is simply superior to canon.

  • @ITSbigwillystyle You're stupid.

  • @ClankyRochet k canon fanboy, whatever you say...

  • so what makes nikons better/worse than canons? not only the bodies, but the lenses?

  • @DisIsHowiRoll well for bodies:

nikon pros: more AF points, better ISO, AF while in movie mode, built in flash can control other flashes

canon pros: better vid recording, more pixels in the cameras

Both brands produce excellent cameras, as for lenses, canon has some of the lenses that are better than nikon and vice versa, but canon has a bigger selection of lenses

  • @MtGuyful hey bro about the built in commander flash, now most Canon cameras (APS-C) can control the flash remotely 600D,60D,7D the only ones that cant are the ones without a flash [Pro models] (1Ds Mark iii, 1D mark IV, 5D mark II)

  • The more pixels in canon cameras don't make any diference because in order to fit the pixels in its sensors canon had to "squeeze" them, resulting in less image and color quality and that's why nikon sensors are bigger, because in nikon they actually want to deliver good quality products.

DXO mark tests say nikon has better image quality, better color depth among other things such as ISO performance and better automatic exposure with the "3D color matrix metering II" divided in 1005 segments

  • @jsousafotografia lol so canon doesnt want to deliver quality products? you sound like a complete fanboy, oh and I thaugh that more pixel density means better picture quality? bla bla bla if nikon is superior in all areas why theres so many pro canon users? You're soooo biased towards nikon, gosh

  • They really need a new guy to hold reflectors

  • wow, i wish he can lend me one of his possessions. aw god! haha

  • is that a microphone or a rat?

  • Sample how funny good eyes fallenembers08

  • Nikon D3S is the best camera money can buy (besides Hasselblad)

But Canon is just better for video (but then again, DSLR for video?)

  • @sosvocaloid Yes, now it is. :)

  • yes nikon cameras are nice, ease up on the pricing of accessories as they overpriced.. $400+ for a batterygrip common!

  • d3s is a great camera. pretty crappy image quality on any dslr when you bring the iso to 8000 though. the new canon 1ds mark 4 has better low light abilitys in my opinion

  • @dauntless15 nothing from Canon has better low light capabilities

  • @ThinkLearnSolve

i think that the d3s vs the 1ds mark 4 , both with f1.4 85mm glass , i think the canon would have the edge . very close but stil, canon would have a slight edge

  • He wears a Rolex.

  • @Jolinator you are100% right! Now that I have the 50mm f/1.4, I am so pleased with the images and the results.

  • i beat they paid him to say all of these and his camera says SAMPLE so wtf???

  • "available to everyone" not sure i'd say that about the D3s but hay, what do i know!

  • Yeah, it is true that Nikon has better ISO capabilities and Canon doesn't handle as well in ISO but Canon is still much better for video. You sacrifice one thing for another I suppose, only my opinion haha. Probably wrong but yeah :D

  • Lol you can tell there is a someone having a hard time with the reflector trying to light up his face

  • bet they shot this on a 5d mark 2 haha

  • @youyouc There's auto focus and zooming on the video buddy! No suck thing on a Canon 5D mkII

    nice try!

  • @youyouc I am a nikon user my self but I agree !! xD

  • LOL!!

Yep - despite all the hype the Canon (CANON) 5D Mk2 has become the standard - sorry Nikon fanboys!

  • @youyouc HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! LMAO!

  • my d7000 cant see shit in the dark with its 18-105vr, with the 50mm f1.8 its another story

  • hey i like my Nikon cameras, but if you buy an entry level Nikon dslr with the kit lens it can't see in the dark,

sorry but its flat out a lie.

you get what you pay for, Nikon does not make a difference in this aspect.

    _

  • That's a question for nikonAustralia my friend! Why does his camera say sample on the bottom nikonAustralia??

  • nikon ssuuucckk

  • HAHAHAHAAA charlie BROWN??? OMG! Look how he turned out!

  • So...how much are they payin you to be here?- Donnie Darko

  • lol he looks like chalie brown from snoopy

  • The Advantages of Nikon Cameras is Never get Tired of getting smooked by Canon "Ever" koooo o o O L

  • "She's absolutely beautiful...crisp, tight". teeheee

  • That is one ugly microphone.

  • @TheVisualised They turn dingos into microphones.

  • this microphone is so ugly...

  • this is the continuation of the below: AND WOULD THE FX 28-300 vr2 DAMAGEFUL TO MY CAM,CAZ ONCE ONE TOLD ME THAT IS SO HEAVY FOR UR CAMERA! IS THAT RIGHT?? PLZ ANSWER ME THX

  • hiii guys!!!! welll i always beleive taht nikon is better !!!! first caz it is more balanced than canon!!! btw i have the nikon 3100 , am still in the begining of the photography thing!! but not a biggener ,more like a semi-pro one!!!!

i have one question, and i will be really greatful if somebody answers it!!! i have a d3100 ,and i want a lens that shoots 300mm! but there r 2 lens that attract my attention, one a dx 55-300mm vr2 and a fx 28-300 vr2! ARE FX LENSES COMPATIBLE WITH D3100,AND

  • @gajetjoe Fx lenses are 100% compatible with the d3100

(as long as they are af-s lenses)

Your cam should take the weight just fine. (just hold jour lens right (right hand on cam, left on lens))

The d3000's bajonett is even capable of (barely) holding a 600 f/4 if slung from the shoulder (but I would not advise this, ever)

I would advise you to buy the 28-300 if you plan to upgrade to fx soon.

Otherwise the 55-300 is your lens of choice (if you need faster af, take a look at the 70-300 vr)

  • @gajetjoe semi pro, but asking questions like that...

  • @Jolinator no its because i have a d90 ,but i bought d3100 for less important things , caz its lighter !!! so i decided to buy her some lenses !!! iam used to the d90 that fetches every thing , so i didnt want to spend my money carelessly !!!got it :)

  • @gajetjoe i doubt u r a semi pro...got a flickr account? want to see ur work...pic or lie

  • SAMPLE - NOT FOR SALE 2:06

  • lol why does his D3s say "SAMPLE" on the bottom at 2:05?

    fantastic cameras. :D

  • @fallenembers08

He was probably given a sample version of the camera by Nikon. It's not entirely uncommon to see professional photographers being given new or prototype cameras to play around with.

  • @fallenembers08 Fallen that was my test camera when we were working on any tweaks before the release.

  • @fallenembers08 in some products is the prototype, another sample. I have observed more in the show, when to get out this new product to market. I think that's I have a Nikon D3100.

  • @fallenembers08 because they paid him for it and probably not a photographer

  • @fallenembers08 i read up about this...i discovered that they stamp "SAMPLE" on all the sample cameras.

  • @fallenembers08 haha nice catch. I like Nikon cameras, but i wonder how much they paid this guy to endorse their cameras.

  • Isnt the 'Expeed' the processor not the sensor?Isnt the sensor a complimentary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS)?designed by Nikon and built by Sony.

  • Nick-on xD

  • d3000 is not the best for low light, eh....

  • Hey PG, the 3000 is a ripper in low light for the price and compared to 12 months ago and now with the new expeed 2 sensor the 3100 and 7000 will be even better

  • @jasin007 fuck yourself, you idiot. d3000 is crap and the worst camera ever. low light?! fuck it. Sony SLT camera has better low light and it beats the performance for its price tag. you should suck yer pop's dick

  • Comment removed

  • Champ I'm kinda confused why you are so angry and hate me so much?

The Sony is intact a fabulous camera and shares much of the pedigree with Nikon.

I appreciate that you love Sony I certainly couldn't hate you for that. Cameras should be chosen to compliment a photographers style.

  • @Xyb3rTeCh Nikon just happens to be my tool of choice and I totally understand some people can't get their heads around them but if we don't have several manufacturers competing against each other we wouldn't be the light years ahead in digital photograpy that we have come in the past few years.

  • @jasin007 Dude ignore that guy. He obviously has no idea what he is talking about. D3000 are fine in low light if you have the right lens, I doubt he even has a prime lens, plus he is shooting a Sony SLT. lol Any real photographer uses a Canon or Nikon. Some people just don't know what class and maturity is.

  • @gstrike82 thanks for your support Tiger!

  • @Xyb3rTeCh Anyhow I hope you understand how I think a little better and to be honest I'm pretty destroyed with what you said about me, never had that before so I will try to be a better person and understand that not everyone loves the same things as me.

I wanted to send you this as a private message but you have disabled that facility on your channel.

    Cheers,

    Jasin.

  • @PhotoGraffable Lies! I have the d60 (which is a little lower grade then the d3000) and I shoot a 17-55 f/2.8 on it and the low light situations i'm in shooting club photography it works great. It all depends on the glass you use.

  • @uxa1 nikon color sucks! that's why

  • @uxa1 because nikon produces crappy products!

  • nooooo now i never has free nickon ssss

  • Comment removed

  • @stersterful i'm lost...and a little sad.

  • @jasin007 jasin what do you recommend. to get my name out there as a photographer? I'm surprised that you yourself responded to my rude comment. To be honest i thought you would never have even seen this video on youtube. By the way.. charlie brown is a comic character in the newspaper in the US, thought it was funny and that mic is rather bizarre.

  • Well tiger, first you gotta have compassion and watch that potty mouth around clients, hehe...

Just keep at it and try and concentrate on an area of photography that really interests you. Of course you may have to try every thing until you find the subject that interests you most but it will happen!

  • @jasin007 Thank you. :] That is very inspiring to hear from you yourself as a professional photographer. Right now I'm in a b/w film class. I enjoy photographing deserted and desolate structures. For digital all I have done is some scanning and long exp at night with the flash light, haha fun stuff. As far as getting low light shots, can't do much being broke with a top ISO of 1600. Thanks once again.. who knew with such a snide comment I'd get a response haha

  • @uxa1 hmm, I wouldn't know if he is a Canon Extremist, which I know of people who are Canon and Nikon Extremist. Neither do you know if he is one. It may be one of the reason. That why my last answer ended with a "?".

  • did they use a Canon Camera to shoot this Nikon Promo ?

  • @uxa1 Cos he a Canon User?

  • @wumingkkk i'm sony user you dimwit

  • @Xyb3rTeCh You didn't specify in the first place dumb@ss. How would people know? You think I am god, know what camera you are using? You gave an open end comments to let people speculate.

  • What is the secondary camera that he has?

  • @skellingtone I think you are refering to my D90, sweet little camera that one, I take her everywhere.

  • @jasin007 Ive been reading the comments here...mate! its a shocker how many nikon haters out there...it must be true then that nikon cameras are really good...I too have a d90 and planning to get an Fx one soon...I love nikon, my dad's a canon user, back when he did film photography and almost all the time i get to try them but didn't really stick to me...loved your tips as well...cheers!!!
