I did a show a couple years back with Michale Graves and he's an awesome guy. I don't agree with his political views, but he doesn't tie his political views into his music too much. Punk rock can be about whatever. Politics motivate most punk which is all good, but it doesn't have too.

Less than a year after his departure from The Newfits, we played a show with Graves and there were about 30 people at the show and almost all of them were our friends that ended up leaving in the middle of their set. This was the second show of the band I was in at the time but we still could draw more people than their shitty band.

Just because the Daily Show is pointing out the silliness of a GOP punk doesn't automatically say that all punks should be Democrats either. I would like to note that Mr. Graves has a totally valid position. How does it make sense for punk to be left wing? Last I heard, left wing liberalism was leaning toward socialism, communism, and all that fun stuff. I did a show a couple years back with Michale Graves and he's an awesome guy. I don't agree with his political views, but he doesn't tie his political views into his music too much. Punk rock can be about whatever. Politics motivate most punk which is all good, but it doesn't have too.
