America is too diverse and too big to have Ron Pauls method go into affect. I agree some of his policies could be beneficial for other small countries such as free trade, but his national security and free trade ideas can't work in the U.S. especially because the Chinese government depreciates their currency and problems with oil and brazil.

Social programs don't rise due to low taxes, which means decrease in funding for education, employment of government workers, which was proven a good thing by kenyesian economic theory. I like Ron Paul and subscribe to the same school of economic thought as him, but if Ron does get elected for president our economy will not recover and be back on its feet initially. In fact Ron Paul leaves out a very important fact about his recovery plan, that our economy must plunge into a deep recession in order for bad assets to be liquidated, there will be massive unemployment and hyper deflation for quite a while. It is after the grueling stage that we can restore America.

He got everyone to turn in their $20.00 gold coins in return for gold certificates then screwed them by devaluing the paper by 40% and raising gold by 40%. Sound familiar? An economy that never recovered and encourages people to sell gold and silver and a government that is not willing to cut spending or raise taxes on either side of the parties. It will happen over a holiday weekend sometime in 2012!

That did not happen over night, rather, liberty is lost slowly. There's no such thing as "extreme liberty". Ultimately people see Ron Paul as a savior. I agree his views seem convincing, but it won't work in the politics of America. America is too diverse and too big to have Ron Pauls method go into affect. I agree some of his policies could be beneficial for other small countries such as free trade, but his national security and free trade ideas can't work in the U.S. especially because the Chinese government depreciates their currency and problems with oil and brazil.

@loveisamistake Libertarian views are good in the sense of having freedom, but overall it is not economically nor politically efficient. Social programs don't rise due to low taxes, which means decrease in funding for education, employment of government workers, which was proven a good thing by kenyesian economic theory. Certainly the he supports liberty but backs away from abortion, and gay marriage. he thinks the 'state" should handle gay marriage instead of saying abolish it.

I like Ron Paul and subscribe to the same school of economic thought as him, but if Ron does get elected for president our economy will not recover and be back on its feet initially. In fact Ron Paul leaves out a very important fact about his recovery plan, that our economy must plunge into a deep recession in order for bad assets to be liquidated, there will be massive unemployment and hyper deflation for quite a while. It is after the grueling stage that we can restore America.
