  • What is "challah" bread? Where does it originate? Thanks for any clue.

  • @ESO529 I'm pretty sure it's a Jewish tradition :)

  • I hate expert village.

  • how did i get here

  • those r huge

  • isn't poppy seed opium?

  • @rendy88

yes and if you eat enough they will make you come up hot on a urine test. I avoid them like the plague

  • Wait a minute! I missed something...The turd pile looks great and will rise fantastic but where is the video of forming the loaf. Is it one long roll braided, small chunks from a divider, ...HELP!!!

  • Thank you for explain it in such a clear way

  • i go to college in maryland. hey, people are different regionally. piety is a factor, but some of everybody is everywhere. imo, a one world nation is flawed in that we need distance, seperation, and limit of emigration. but segregation is wrong and unions of states i feel will come short in ensuring genetic variability. having nations is what ensures this. i think there wont be a single ethnicity, i think regionally we'll emerge as simply ratio selection where we a bit of all, but not uniform.

  • i find an egg wash of just whipped whites is the best glaze.

  • Nice,I like them so much, we have those bread in Iran and they are popular, :-) I didn't know that these bread has a Jewish origin but it is not surprising as Iran used to have a great number of Jewish population ,

  • i say this as a jew mind you, half or more the population of iran is not brainwashed and very progressive. i know some iranian transfer students, the girls wear burkas and they pray 5 times a day, but they are interesting and really smart. lol i used my smartphone to find the quibla when one guy forgot how the campus was oriented in relation to north,he was always really nice to me after. tyrants pull us apart, but it seems jews really do share alot with muslims.

  • @Pimpmastahanhduece

Thanks. I agree with you in the fact that they share a lot with each other. I don't know where you are studying but it is strange for me that you say Iranian students wear Burka or pray ! I am studying in Sweden and I don't know an Iranian girl in person living outside iran to wear Burka or barley know an Iranian student who believes in Islam !! :-)

  • @saso9685 we also eat eat this bread ALOT here in israel, its really nice,i hope we can somehow make friend from our neighbors :) have a good year!

  • This video shows nothing we need to see how u mix the flouer to make it look like that?

  • I want to thank you for the greatest challah recipe in the world! i just made it and it tastes fabulous!!! thank you very much!

  • This is actually a Hugarian bread!!!! The nomads made it a world wide bread cuase of it easy prep.

  • on behalf of jews, thank you hungary for one of the best breads in existence and great with cream cheese, grilled cheese, and chicken soup. btw, spain's Pan De la Muerte is exactly like challah and even braided like it, except its treated as a cake by adding more sugar and baking it longer for a more rigid internal texture. ALWAYS EGG WASH!!!!

  • hate publicity

  • to what temperature?

  • Why do people use metal utensils in glass bowls? Didn't anyone ever watch The Frugal Gourmet? Jeff Smith may have liked young boys, but the sob could cook. Nice looking loaves, but I'll take mine without the bits of glass.

  • But the doses given are for 1 or 2 challoth? I made an attempt, but during baking the appearance is somewhat changed and you do not see much that are of braids.Maybe I hiked too the dough? It would not hurt a PDF with all instructions and times.

  • At what temperature was the oven set?

  • @goodlifewoman 350 degrees :o)

    Shalom

  • @goodlifewoman with a little research, you can learn that most bread is baked at 350 for about 35 minutes.

  • @goodlifewoman they probably will make a video on how hot the oven should be just like they do for every instructional video FUCK

  • 30 to 40 minutes at what temperature? I need to know the temp to set it on. Thanks

  • lehchailem you mashuganeh goyesha

  • Where I live its called Zopf. Its probably as old as sour bread is :)

  • isen't that a traditional jewish dinner bread??

  • SHABAT SHALOM

  • mozoltov, just like it should be.

  • This looks real good right about now...

  • that is a cool pastry brush

  • Great videos, but it is too difficult and time consuming to find the videos I need !!!!!!!!! They really need to number them!!!!!!!!

  • they should use numbers to this videos if it's about the same bread or whatever. like How to make Challah Bread part1, then part 2 and so on but they don't which is only making everyone confused what's the next step lol.

  • they do this one purpose so they get more views

  • @crestinortodox4ever -you're absolutely right. Now I have got a headadache do not know which vid come first. I can't save in my playlist :(

  • @crestinortodox4ever - I think they do this on purpose.. so you watch the vids on the original expert-village website, where they are all well organised and numbered.

  • @crestinortodox4ever the whole video series, in order, in on their website, outside of Youtube.

  • GO KERAN! MAKE THEM CHALLAH BREADS!

  • What temperature is the oven? ...

  • can you make a shorter video?
