He is now a Gamecock. He has joined the best sacking defense in the SEC, second only to Florida State in the country. Marcus Lattimore is already on the heisman watch list as a sophmore, and im sure that Alshon Jeffrey is close to the top 15 as well as a junior. SC is also favored to win the east again and finish with more than 10 wins in 2011. No other conference can compare to the SEC so Texas yall should know you were out of the mix for Jadeveon...Plus he was a gamecock fan anyways.
@rdjohnson1988 SC has a chance to make it to the big dance. The SEC has been fortunate with good coaching hires in my opinion as of late and a few of the national championships happened during a crazy college football year, like 2008 i believe, i remember ohio state being no 6, but everyone ahead of them losing, so they made it into the game. The one conferance that should be able to compete is the ACC, but now yeah, SEC is the destination conferance. If your clowney, it's NFL time soon anywy
wtf, i thought it was south carolina or bama, iv been waiting for weeks to hear him hopefully say he want to go to alabama, but everybody says its clemson or southcarolina. why wouldnt he go to alabama, they are going to win another national champion ship within the next 3 years. sc and clemson have no chance
Comes down to Clemson and South Carolina, and he is going to the Clemson UNC basketball game this Saturday then he announces Monday. If he was smart he would go to Clemson and join the list of Gaines Adams, Phillip Merling, Ricky Sapp, and Da'Quan Bowers
its a shame seeing his school selections that he prefers both crappy programs... really would of liked to see him go somewhere good like bama or texas
@des696969 Clemson and South Carolina are not crappy programs. And his mother wants him to go somewhere close to home since their family does not have a lot of money to take long trips and watch him play. Clemson has produced better defensive ends then Alabama and Texas in these past couple of years. And Spurrier is changing the culture at South Carolina, coming off their first SEC championship appearance. Texas is on the fall anyways, Mack Brown is done and they lost Will Muschamp
@09WhiteKnoll They can watch him on tv lol texas is going to be great.. but he really should of gone with alabama :( kind of a disappointment clemson and scar blahblahblah
@des696969 Alshon Jeffery first team All American. Marcus Lattimore Freshmen of the Year. Stephon Gilmore All SEC corner. DeVonte Holloman 2nd team All SEC safety. Devin Taylor 2nd team all SEC DE. Not to mention all of the are sophomores except Lattimore. They won the SEC East with freshmen and sophomore stars. Your right South Carolina is a joke compared to the 5-7 Texas Longhorns. And South Carolina beating Alabama 35-21 with that freshman and sophomores is a joke also.
He plays very high. Main reason he's dominating at the high school level is because he's a physical freak. He'll easily be next in a long line of number 1 guys that didn't pan out if he doesn't refine his understanding of leverage. Lucky for him he's blessed with an abundance of raw athletic talent.
Come to South Carolina. Stay close to home so your family can come to every game, learn under a legendary coach, Play with your friends, take the team to its first championship. Then get your degree and make BANK in the NFL.
He isn't going to end up at USC. If he plays PAC-10 I wouldn't be surprised if it was Oregon or Stanford. Their defenses fit to him better... otherwise this kid will be at an SEC school.
Nobody wants to go to Miami. Their football program is in a downward spiral. Couldn't even keep Bridgewater. You bitches have 2 commits from the 305. Good luck with all your "sleepers"

he got blocked a lot to be honest, but im wr and punter so i didnt see much of him. he got within a yard of each punt but he didnt block any. i think he only had like 4 tackles, but they were huge hits. But final score was eastside 6 South Point 49... they werent as good as i thought but the score says enough...
@uncwdog Hmm, he most have had a bad day or something. Because from this video he looks almost unstoppable. Id love to see him in Maize and Blue, but don't see it happening any way at all. Sadly..
NOOO!!!! He should go to Florida with Ronald Powell, Sharrif Floyd, and Dominique Easley!!!! Lol. No threat of that happening, but good Lord if he did. The opposing O-lines might as well just give up. Moot point though....

Man oh man that kid is a beast, it's easy to see on film why scouts are so high on him. Kid like that comes around maybe once every 5 years, his size/speed ratio is just sickening. Who knows how he will respond playing D1 O lineman but he's so physically gifted I can't see him being a bust, barring injury.
ive played against this kid and this kid is the real deal end of story. he has size speed and an attitude that will alow him to go anywhere. Clowney is a name you are gonna be hearing for a long time
Well.....you never know. As an Ohio State fan, I would love to have this kid (looks more LB size though). But I wont get my hopes up like with Seantrel Henderson last year even if this kid puts us in the final 2 or 3 like Seantrel did.
Go to USC for your heart, and never be on TV....or u can go to bama, start as a freshman, and go to the NFL in 3 years.. think brother, about your FUTURE!!!!!! Roll TIDE!!!
I'd almost be willing to bet he won't play on the line at the next level. I played against this kid when he was younger and the only thing he has going for him is size and speed. If you notice most of the time he beats the man in the back field. It's all about his speed. He runs down hill. I also know that if he doesn't get stronger he's going to have a tough time playing in the SEC (most likely at USC with former teammate Gilmore). Can you say Cliff Matthews' replacement? ;)
yourall gay he fucking runs 4.5 40 1st of all and is#1 prospect in country...and all yall lil bitches pretending you can run sub 4.5 are fucking lying pathetic virgin lifers
calm down dude. i was a sprinter in HS and can probably run in the low 4.4's... but football speed is totally different from pure speed. in pads, not running a straight line, no one is doubting this guy's quicks. i tried out for football and only managed to do kick returns. in pads, i was much slower than in shorts and a t shirt. i wouldn't want to race clowney- or better yet- have him chase me... in pads. this guy's a stud, but no need for lame name calling.
ill calm down bro when ppl stop lying through their teeth...lying about shit they can never do and claim withease!!!get the stop watch out? where do u live? i bet any amount of money u aint running no 4.4 unless im talking to lamicheal james or something or tyson gay.where do u live ill fly out with my stop watch and risk up to 20k...yeah i run 4.1 no u dont shut up everyone over the comp can bench 600 lbs run faster than horses, and are the best...clowney gonna go bama or s car
@919ham because offering the top recruit in the country isn't good enough right? you have very high standards. looks like there will be nobody you can recruit.
Gotta watch the []_[] documentary. And that just the 80s lol. That didnt even cover the 90s with Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp and all them. Or the early 2000s including 2001 which is said to be hands down the best college football team of all time. Miami always dominated, and thats about to continue. Not to mention how this city is about to be crazy with the Lebron buzz.
Only players from the []_[] play with swag like that. Shannon dont lie to the kids and all that stuff that these other coaches do. He wants whats best for them, which is why he let the best CB in the country Patrick Peterson go to LSU. And why he let the #1 player in the country (Bryce Brown) go to Tenesee. He only wants players that wana be at Miami. Doesnt trick them into coming.
Christ, just another freak athlete thats probably gonna drag his recruitment out, only to go with the typical 5-star choice, alabama. Its not fair. Lol.
woodrya... the best coach in the sec? i dont think so... he told reporters he likes bama more because of the tradition and the fact that they win. the only reason s. car is even in his top is because its home... but i think he goes with his head over his heart
I know alot about football and when I say this, I mean it. He is one of the most explosive DE's I have ever seen. I feel sorry for any tackle who lines up against him this season.
Dang can you imagine if Urban Meyer had Ronald Powell and Jadeveon Clowney on the same team?!? Not saying that would happen but still...Hope he goes to bama
@guilty972 that would bee terrible If i were an o-line coach or an offensive coordinator I would quit those guys are impossible to block and plus they have big ass shariff flloyd
Jadeveon I was entering the 1st grade in 1963, Paul Bryant was just starting his journey of creating 6 NC's & I lived 60 miles down the road from where he walked the practice field. I told both of my 1st cousins I'm no longer an Auburn Fan, my big brother pulls for Alabama. 64' 65' and 66' ,everyone knows Bryant was robbed being apart of the only 3-peat for NC Titles. What's it like here Jadeveon? I'll leave you with this: Rolando McClain signs 5 yr deal for 40$Mill - 23$ guaranteed. RTR
@TideatMileHigh Looks like he is coming to Bama! He said on facebook Sunday night that Bama was his new home and he can't wait to get out of Rock Hill. His committment should be soon. RMFT
@acmull ha i gotcha, Its gonna be a big game between The Gamecocks, Alabama, and Clemson. Maybe even NC, everything i read tho is its between Gamecocks and Alabama, im a gamecock fan, id love to see him stay and play in his home state, But he should make the decision that is best for him and his family, All i have to say, is Good luck to ya Mr. Clowney
A lock for either South Carolina or Alabama. My guess is South Carolina to stay close to home and play with friends. (unfortunately for me, since im a bama fan.....)
He is very talented I just hope he develops. He won't be playing shitty highschool LT's he'll be on the best Lineman the other D-1 team has to offer. Tough job for a freshman if he stays at RE.
The guy has definately got all the physical tools and seems to have a non stop motor and will keep following the ball where ever it goes, which is what coaches love. He however needs to work on not standing straight up when rushing, especially come college.
This dude is fast...crazy fast. No wonder he's the number 1 prospect in the country. He has a super quick first step and hits the edges hard. That's pretty much the only thing colleges look for in defensive ends since the passing game is developing more and more each year.
@Tidefan54 it doesnt matter where he goes the kids gonna be a high pick in the draft no matter what everything is based on potential now a days kinda sad but real and this could go to utep for all i care and still be picked high
I like Alabama as a team, but I HATE there fans. Alabama Fans are Talking like they always been a top team. 3 losing seasons since 2000. 2007, 2004,2001 all medoicre years. Only 4 good years since 2000. But I was happen win they won the NC tho
@hurricane2005734 i agree bro totally agree im a michigan fan tho and really cant dogg them but bama fans have got way to cocky esp after them gettin there ass kicked by utah 2 years ago
The Best I've ever seen and I get the luxury of seeing this kind of stuff everyday, our offense gets so much better from having to defend against him everyday. Let's Go South Pointe Stallions!
It seems like everyone had a short memory in Tuscaloosa. Just 2 short years ago the record in "Title Town" was 7-6 (over half of them were vacated for infractions). Many of the players on that team were also a part of the national championship team. It goes to show that a few special players can help a mediocre team become a naitonal championship calibur team (Marcus Lattimore, Jadeveon Clowney). Clowney has an opportunity to come to SC and do something special.
obviously it takes depth and a total team effort to win an SEC championship. What I am saying is a few special players can help propel you to that level. Way to be obnoxious with your comment though. Eddie whoever would have been riding pine last year as a redshirt freshman at Carolina too bud. Where will we see him this year? Will you not start your best players? If i remember correctly Bama couldnt get anything going until Ingram started taking direct snaps.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about We always pull top 25 recruiting classes.. not that stars are everything, but we also have 4 star guys that rode the pine last year. Mar Lat who is a 5 star, wont start immediately either. BTW you wont be getting Clowney. His former high school team mates and friends are on South Carolina and he will want to stay close to home. Bama will be in it til the end though. See you October 9th at Willy Brice.
for a south carolina fan I have a big mouth lol? Just cause your favorite team won the NC last year doesnt mean you know more about football or recruiting than anyone else. In fact, I know a lot of bandwagon Alabama fans that are abnoxious and have big mouths. Some of you guys make Florida fans seem humble. Good Luck with Clowney.
Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee are on our schedule and we might see you in Atlanta this year. Georgia is usually decided by 3 pts or less (Joe Cox is gone), Tennessee is in shambles but we will see what kind of season Dooley can muster, and Florida has quality athletes, but their offensive field general and third and short threat is now gone. I'm not saying we WILL beat Florida, but we certainly have a shot to do it.
@BMACCHICKMAGNET South Carolina consistantly puts out quality defenses, some of the best in the nation. SC has put plenty of defensive guys into the league. In fact Alabama currently has 20 on active rosters, and South Carolina has 18... and I can promise you there will be plenty more of the South Carolina squad now that will be playing on Sundays.
If Clowney goes to AU he will just be another notch on the belt. If he goes to SC he can be part of a legacy. The first to win it there.
I never said South Carolina didn't put out quality defenses. I said Clowney wouldn't win a championship there. As long as Florida, Georgia, & Tennessee is on your schedule, you'll continue to finish behind them in the standings. Like you always do. Like i said before, im not trying to be rude. Im not trying to flame USC or anything. But if Clowney wants to play in Atlanta in December, he have a better chance getting there playing in TITLE TOWN than he will in South Carolina.
he is considering florida and if he goes there could you imagine RONALD POWELL and JADEVEON CLOWNEY playing on oppisite sides . we would have one of the the best DE tandems college football has ever seen. Our defense would be the best in college football history. But hes pretty much an alabama lock. Nick Saban won't let this guy get away
Um...like, so yeah. A pretty fast tall athletic guy. Just one question: Why is NO ONE BLOCKING HIM in most of these clips??? Look again at each play. More often than not he has a clean shot at the QB with out anyone on the oppposing OLine blocking him.
Under such schemes my Granny could attract the SEC.
I wish the guy luck of course.
Go get your degree then get your millions.
Say the F out of trouble, too: If its after midnite and youre STILL at the strip club...LEAVE.
Not trying to be rude but Clowney would never win a championship at South Carolina or North Carolina. Come to Bama homie. You'll be in the mix every year for a championship in TITLE TOWN.
you guys do know that he has a learning disability and they're determining his eligibility based on SAT scores right?

I'd almost be willing to bet he won't play on the line at the next level. I played against this kid when he was younger and the only thing he has going for him is size and speed. If you notice most of the time he beats the man in the back field. It's all about his speed. He runs down hill. I also know that if he doesn't get stronger he's going to have a tough time playing in the SEC (most likely at USC with former teammate Gilmore). Can you say Cliff Matthews' replacement? ;)

calm down dude. i was a sprinter in HS and can probably run in the low 4.4's... but football speed is totally different from pure speed. in pads, not running a straight line, no one is doubting this guy's quicks. i tried out for football and only managed to do kick returns. in pads, i was much slower than in shorts and a t shirt. i wouldn't want to race clowney- or better yet- have him chase me... in pads. this guy's a stud, but no need for lame name calling.

Not to mention how this city is about to be crazy with the Lebron buzz.
cuelrunnings 1 year ago
Only players from the []_[] play with swag like that. Shannon dont lie to the kids and all that stuff that these other coaches do. He wants whats best for them, which is why he let the best CB in the country Patrick Peterson go to LSU. And why he let the #1 player in the country (Bryce Brown) go to Tenesee. He only wants players that wana be at Miami. Doesnt trick them into coming.
cuelrunnings 1 year ago
Tide wants him as a linebacker. Kid is not and will not be a linebacker. SC bound.

RTR

@BAMACHICKMAGNET
Clowney has an opportunity to come to SC and do something special.
eightohhthree 1 year ago
@eightohhthree What??? Win a championship?????
It takes much more than just 2 players (Latt and Clowney) to win a title man...
you have to have lots of depth...
i mean we got guys riding the bench who would probably star at other schools...
you will see eddie lacey this year who is our 4th string running back who was redshirted last year, he would've started at South Carolina last year
aubiesucks12 1 year ago
@aubiesucks12
obviously it takes depth and a total team effort to win an SEC championship. What I am saying is a few special players can help propel you to that level. Way to be obnoxious with your comment though. Eddie whoever would have been riding pine last year as a redshirt freshman at Carolina too bud. Where will we see him this year? Will you not start your best players? If i remember correctly Bama couldnt get anything going until Ingram started taking direct snaps.
eightohhthree 1 year ago
@eightohhthree yea, everybody knew Ingram was getting the ball and you guys still couldn't stop him, that was sickk, "The Mark Ingram Show"
Eddie Lacy would've gotten playing time as a freshman last year at South Carolina,
i'll say 1st or 2nd string running back
Our bench warmers are 4 stars.... yours are 2 stars
aubiesucks12 1 year ago
@aubiesucks12
See you October 9th at Willy Brice.
eightohhthree 1 year ago
@eightohhthree for a south carolina fan you have a BIG mouth to be talking like that...
we're Alabama dude
aubiesucks12 1 year ago
@aubiesucks12
for a south carolina fan I have a big mouth lol? Just cause your favorite team won the NC last year doesnt mean you know more about football or recruiting than anyone else. In fact, I know a lot of bandwagon Alabama fans that are abnoxious and have big mouths. Some of you guys make Florida fans seem humble. Good Luck with Clowney.
eightohhthree 1 year ago
@eightohhthree well i'm not one of those guys,
i know what i'm talking about
there are tons of bandwagon fans for teams like that,
just like how the lakers and yankees have a ton, teams like alabama, usc, texas, and michigan do too
aubiesucks12 1 year ago
@BAMACHICKMAGNET
I'm not saying we WILL beat Florida, but we certainly have a shot to do it.
eightohhthree 1 year ago
@BMACCHICKMAGNET South Carolina consistantly puts out quality defenses, some of the best in the nation. SC has put plenty of defensive guys into the league. In fact Alabama currently has 20 on active rosters, and South Carolina has 18... and I can promise you there will be plenty more of the South Carolina squad now that will be playing on Sundays.
If Clowney goes to AU he will just be another notch on the belt. If he goes to SC he can be part of a legacy. The first to win it there.
eightohhthree 1 year ago
@eightohhthree

Our defense would be the best in college football history. But hes pretty much an alabama lock. Nick Saban won't let this guy get away
FootballStar203 1 year ago
Um...like, so yeah. A pretty fast tall athletic guy. Just one question: Why is NO ONE BLOCKING HIM in most of these clips??? Look again at each play. More often than not he has a clean shot at the QB with out anyone on the oppposing OLine blocking him.
Under such schemes my Granny could attract the SEC.
I wish the guy luck of course.
Go get your degree then get your millions.
Say the F out of trouble, too: If its after midnite and youre STILL at the strip club...LEAVE.
