IDK why, but the pony in the falling balloon reminded me of a scene from My Little Pony Tales, where Patch's balloon deflated, and she and her friend fell. She was rescued by a group of Alicorns. I even considered Patch to be her name, too

I forgot to comment earlier, but Lily (the pink pony in the balloon) is a perfect match for the character seen in the balloon in the promotional poster. this suggests the poster was intended to hint at season 2. Now to figure out who the white pony with the blue mane is, and find any other hints.

I kinda think it should be Darkwing Pony. Probably because thats just what I thought when she first appeared but a little because Darkwin Duck wasn't Darkwing 'Drake.
