This must be one of the first concerts with Ragsdale's return...the stage set is different,he still has long hair and he's not playing his Ned Steinberger headless violin. He's playing a Kowasaki electric violin if I'm not mistaken.
I first saw these guys in 1977, have been too many of their concerts since and they still ROCK BETTER than most of the bands out there today, thirty years later. KANSAS ROCKS!!
Steve did a great job on this ! Check out the version of this song from the Don Kirschner Rock Concert show. It is here on YouTube and captures Kansas right after this tune was released.
The Rock Concert version is the most incredible version of the song I've ever heard them do. Better than the album version, IMO, and Steve just destroys it.
The 70's version from Don Kirschner Concert brings back great memories of knowing Kansas and hearing them when they were young. I am amazed at Steve Walsh's singing. And the 70's version has Livgren, Steinhardt...two members who are not on this video. Kansas ROCKS!
Epic and rockin this song has always been. This is a terrific version of it too. Amazingly tight and perhaps a little ballsier too. Steve sounds great as well.
Saw these guys the other night in Connecticut (July 08) Terrific show in a very intimate setting..took me back to when I saw the original lineup in 1977. Awesome show. Awesome musicianship.
Listen to the vibrato rags puts in the lines at the top of the piece. then the attack he plays on the next line. Robbie had a great head but rags is a much better player.
Not in the beginning! He kicked ass almost as good as Rags but slowly over the years he dropped off! Let's not forget what Rags is playing was conceived by Steinhardt for the most part! And no one could harmonize like Steinhardt! No one! The backup lines he chose were unique! Having said that I still love Ragsdale and I do think he's a superior player but he hardly makes Robbie look boring!

i'm glad to see that rags has switched from spandex, no shirt and a fanny pack to tight jeans and a tight tank.

Have you seen him recently? He cut off all his hair! It's really short now! You can barely recognize him now!

Absolutely.....he breathes new life into these songs. No offense to Robby, but next to Rags, he's just boring.
