i want to reset my router because i cant find my username and password to acess my linkys stuff and i type in no username and type in admin for password but doesnt work! where do i find my password and username? if i cant find it and i reset my router, will anything happen to the router?

@TheKingOfTechnology yes, this guy didnt do it and can run into complications down the road. Clearing the nvram might take doing the 30-30-30 more than once to get the nvram clear.

Hey Stephen, I have a question, I don´t know whats wrong with my router, is the same as yours, when I turn it on, the only lights that are ON are the ´´power´´, ´´1´´, and ´´internet´´ one, the WLAN is off :s, when I conect the router to the computer it doesnt get online on the internet, I can´t get to the page ¨192.168.1.1¨ :( It doesn work :´( Im desesperate! @mexicankid74 The NAT might be open with the factory default settings from this firmware, but it may also be a problem with your modem. There are a lot of tutorials on the internet and on YouTube for opening your NAT, so instead of buying a new router, you might want to just look up one of those to try to open it with your current network configuration.

I have used this device for a long time and I have always wanted to upgrade the firmware. I have watched a lot of vids on this procedure but yours is the most pertinent because it is exactly the same device as mine. Your step by step tutorial is excellent and easy for me (first time-er) to follow. Other information I see indicates that a similar firmware "Tomato" will also work for this router. Because of the clarity of your presentation I will probably be choosing DD-WRT. Thanks for your help.

@518dan Tomato is a good firmware too. You can't really go wrong with either firmware. I prefer DD-WRT, but I know a lot of people who like Tomato better.

do u really need to do the 30/30/30 step??? because i've cracked some WEPs and the routers are set to defaults...

@Bloodyfisted It depends. If the routers are set to the defaults, then not really, but it would probably not hurt to do so anyway, just in case. However, the router that I was using for the demonstration was one that I bought on Ebay and I wanted to make sure that it was completely back to factory defaults before proceeding to flash it with the firmware.

@l3lackitty Sorry about the different volume levels. After I edited and uploaded the video I noticed that a couple of the clips were louder than others, but I was on a deadline and needed to submit the video so I didn't get a chance to fix it. Thanks for the constructive criticism though =)

Like in march I have to buy a new router because I didn't fount any video tha explain me how to hack my router WRT54G, and there's was many but not one was so clear and easy to instal the DD-WRT in my router!!
