This is my dad, and the real story is that he fell asleep at the wheel, he didn't get enough sleep i guess, and then when his head went through the window, he just got some glass in his hair. he had no bruises, injuries, or cuts... he called my step-mom and he told her about the accident, and she wanted to take him to the hospital, but he didn't need to, he was ok.

The back left compartment of the car gets crunched. His head goes out of sight in the area of the compartments collapse. No doubt that is the end the car that wound up on or pinned against something. So the car spun and hit something moving backward. The guy flew in the direction the car was eventually moving before it stopped. He likely could have been killed with head injuries.
