The first chord is the E minor shape but the capo on the third fret makes the song in the key of G

The capo's on the third fret. He's using the 'shapes' of Em, Dmaj, A for the main verse. The capo transposes it by a minor third. So it's Gmin, Fmaj, Cmaj for the verse. The chorus would be Bb maj, F after the transposition. With Ab just before 'the years have been' and then Eb on "short" and the chorus ends on F. The bridge is Eb, F, Ab, Bb.

They're a MUCH better live act than I thought they'd be.
