  • Beautiful...

  • @V8TransAmGTA Thanks. :-)

  • Wow, great job. It is beautiful. Congrats on all your hard work. It is definitely paying off.

  • @Fattrac Thanks for the nice words. This video is actually an older one. There are many more on my channel that have newer features and updates to Kitt. As long as you see "KNI1GHT" or "KN1IGHT" in the video description, that's me. :-) Thanks again.

  • hi just to say you done a great job of recreating kitt i love it, if you have any more video footage it would be great to see them. once again awesome :D

  • @sandy9623 Thanks for the nice words. This video is actually an older one. There are many more on my channel that have newer features and updates to Kitt. As long as you see "KNI1GHT" or "KN1IGHT" in the video description, that's me. :-) Thanks again.

  • The bird was interested in sale!!!!!!

  • @ubct101 Anti Bird Mode. :-)

  • Thanks for reply! You mention something about newer ones! Do you mean you have have other T Tops you built? Have other videos of them? Can u show me where I can find them. I would like to take a look at them.

  • @SuperTomcat105 Thanks again buddy. If you notice, this video was added to my channel here 3 years ago. An absolute TON OF WORK has gone into the car since this video. Far far surpassing what you see in this video here. Kitt was awesome then, but he's phenomenal now. LoL Trust me........go to my channel's home page, or just click my user name, and the "Videos Uploaded" section shows all 100+ videos I have, with all the most recent ones listed from top to bottom. Peace man. :-)

  • KN1IGHT! Your welcome! I didn't know it was an 5 speed manual I couldn't see it! But you did a hell of a great job on K.I.T.T. overall. Maybe someday in the future you can help me built my own version of K.I.T.T. in the future when I ever I make enough money to get the T- Top and the parts to build him. But hopefully you'll be able to install the LED Gas Pedal on him. Thanks for the Replying back! Great looking car.

  • KN1IGHT! Does your car has the LED Gas Pedal like in the TV show? If you don't mind me asking! Also do you have the actual shift knob for the transmission. Sorry don't mind me I'm die hard fan of K.I.T.T. Overall you did a hell of a good job of making K.I.T.T.!

  • @SuperTomcat105 I haven't installed the LED gas pedal, but maybe some day. And if you search through my videos and find some of my newer ones (since this one is 3 years old now) you'll notice my shifter is nothing like the one in the show, especially since my Kitt is not an automatic, it's a 5 Speed. But I can almost guarantee if you saw "my" shifter set up, you'd dig it. :-) Thanks for the comments too.

    Peace man.

  • Is the steering wheel street legal. I've always heard that you have to use a conventional wheel on the road. Great Video and car by the way, :)

  • @bwayne641 It depends on the local laws in your area. I've had numerous police officers and sheriff's tell me there isn't a law stating that a steering wheel "has to be round" in order for you to drive with it. If they don't care, then neither do I. :-)

    Peace man.

  • @KN1IGHT Thanks Man, If I ever have enough discipline to actually finish a project, I'll have to check with the local Dmv, :) Around here they can be pretty Nazi. As slow as I am building stuff, I'll probably have to ask St. Peter if my steering wheel is OK, LOL. Cheers,

    Mark

  • @IXIREDNECK13IXI Well.......no comment. But when the chicks see my wife......they change their mind. LoL

  • HOLY SHIT I WANT THAT CAR

  • nice :-)

  • NERD!!! lol nice car dude, probably closest to the real deal that I've seen

  • HI Knight, I love this video, I love the part where the bird is stting on the car to :)

  • i want that car so badly

  • @therocklabels I remember being there before. :-)

  • Hello how do you get the red lights that flash on the front? I wouldnt even know where to begin to build something like that. How long did it take you? I am getting a 89 firebird for 4,000 or less soon have to trade in my 91 camaro. How long do birds last? It has 75k on it

  • @TheNorthernSoulKing The red lights that flash on the front are available from a variety of folks. I recommend Lectric Enterprises. He sells the best one on the market. Google that company name and you'll find him. My project has been a never ending project I started back in 1994, but most of the KR conversion was done between 2005 and now. Birds last a long time if they are well taken care of too. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT Thank you will check it out. Do you know any good used car sites that sell firebirds by location? Im from Ohio and I have been looking for awhile and seem like there hard to find. Is there another site like craigslist?

  • @TheNorthernSoulKing The first one I would recommend is CraigsList. If you aren't having any luck there, try varying your location search in CraigsList. I know they come and go, and sometimes it doesn't seem like there are any at all. Best piece of advice I can give you is keep searching. Seems like when you got money to buy one, they are no where to be found.....and when you're broke....they're everywhere. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT Thank you for your help

  • anyone know where i can get the shifter knob? cheap?

  • @ambspier I'm guessing you're asking about the shifter in an automatic Trans Am, versus a 5 speed manual like mine. If that's the case, any of your local salvage yards would be a good "first" inquiry. Would most likely been the cheapest, and they are easy to remove. Any of your early 3rd Gen Firebird and Trans Ams would be a good donor to look at, but several of them came with the exact same shifter that was in Kitt. Might be a good place to start. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT thanks theres quite a few scrap yards and plenty of parts cars in my area ill check em every once and a while im also looking for any on ebay but there are only 2 of em. thanks

  • @ambspier No prob bud. Keep in mind, many of the same generation Camaros also came with the shifter you're looking for. At least I think they did. I recall seeing that style of shifter in several 82 models and later. Not sure if it was user added....or stock....but may also be a good possibility for you. Peace man.

    Mike

  • @KN1IGHT thanks man ! i shall keep looking!!

  • bird wants a ride!! :))

  • @NinjaTTT As long as he doesn't crap on the car....I'm cool with that. LoL :-)

  • Very nice. Best yet.

  • @KnightSquared Thank you. This vid is actually three years old though. I have newer ones including newer updates throughout my youtube channel. Thanks again though. :-)

    Mike

  • @KnightSquared Thank you. This vid is actually three years old though. I have newer ones including newer updates throughout my youtube channel. Thanks again though. :-)

    Mike

  • Well done !

  • Really, really nice work man. After so much work put into it, If I were you I would sell it only over my dead body. :P

    Greetings from CZ.

  • But to have an equal, how much money it would take?

  • @christian3m Roughly the cost of a brand new SUV. :-)

  • WOW! So much detail very nice. I watched it growing up myself.I have a 1:18th diecast scale special edition model excellent to look at,but I'd rather have the real deal like yours. U get any offers on selling it? Do u use it at events?

  • @False1one Thanks for the nice words bud. If you browse my channel, you'll see just how many events I've used my Kitt at. From everything to Star Trek Conventions (several vids on my channel of those) and parades, car shows, festivals, opening for baseball games, you name it. :-) As far as offers....I get plenty.....but none have been serious enough for me to entertain or give a second thought too. :-) Peace man.

    Mike

  • i am guessing the steering wheel is road legal

  • @ryanster246 Well, I've been driving my Kitt with it from 2005 until present time and all the law enforcement people that have seen it, highway patrol, local cops, sheriffs, have all told me there isn't a law regarding that wheel, or the use of a "round steering wheel." Either that, or they just don't want to mess with ticketing me over that wheel. :-) In almost 7 years of driving with it, I've never caught any slack about it.

  • nice car man, add me on myspace, i'll be uploading a video soon, with myspace link in it. I'm planning to make my own KITT car too, lol.

Since ur car is so good, ima gonna enlist ur help on makin mine.

    :-)

    Peace All

    Paul

  • @acersimpson1 Thanks for the nice words....but my myspace pages isn't really updated anymore. Much of my myspace page consists of pics and vids from several years ago.....my new stuff is on my youtube channel and my FB page. My myspace page isn't updated that much anymore. :-)

  • how much did it cost to build Kitt ?

  • @chevy5030 The cost is not a set amount. The cost of these cars; it's different for each individual. Primarily because you can have all the work done for you or you can assemble the car, the components, the wiring, and the finishing touches without needing a professional shop do it for you. Either way is up to the person buying the car. I've seen beautiful conversions done for $15,000 and I've seen them done for $45,000. Building yourself, versus letting a shop do it, makes a big difference.

  • well done how did you make that tell me all about it

  • @brandonipod1 Best way to see how all of it was done.....browse my videos on my channel here. There are some that show tare downs and rebuilds, and new refits to the car's components little at a time. I've been working on the car since 1994 so there's a lot involved. :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • You must pay through the ass for insurance....I can't imagine what would happen if someone were to break into your car. I shudder to think of it!

  • @KSE828 Shudder no more. You don't take a car like this an give it an "average" insurance policy. This car uses a show car insurance company that covers the car bumper to bumper with a zero dollar deductible. Show car insurance premiums vary, but this Knight Rider conversion has an excellent policy that covers everything for 350.00 a year. That's due to the fact I have to meet certain criteria for them to cover me. Like garaged, alarm protected, etc. :-)

  • hahah this is bad ass bro thanks for sharing

  • Awesome job man. My favourite TV show ever and i can still watch it now and enjoy it as i did when i was young. I always said if money was no object the only car i would get is a replica of KITT. Your living my dream!. Anyway, good job man.

  • @psycadelix82 Thanks. :-)

  • very cool!

  • @kissra69 Thank you. :-)

  • First I just want to say, amazing car, I love knight rider and have all FOUR, seasons on dvd. anyone believing there is a fifth season, or that the 2008? "new" knight rider is a fifth season to the origonal, your wrong. and joeblohh, what do you mean by, "4th season"? it means that there were 4 years of new episodes, or 4 seasons, I think 1982 through 1986, im soure mike could let me know if im correct on that, its an easy show to find info on, why do so many get stuff wron?

  • WHAT ABOUT TEAM KNIGHT RIDER....ANYONE EVER HEARD OF IT.....AND VIPER....VIPER WAS NOT A TALKING CAR BUT IT DID HAVE A REALLY COOL TRANSFORMATION

  • @johnnahodil My thoughts on those two are as follows: Keep in mind...just my opinion. :-) I've watched Knight Rider ever since it first debuted in the early 80s. I've seen the other spin offs, and similar shows and after watching those, all I can say is Team Knight Rider was an attempt to tell a "New" story and attach the Knight Rider name to it. Like I've always said...there's a reason why it was canceled. No Thanks. And Viper was a good attempt, but unfortunately, a swing and a miss.

  • @KN1IGHT i agree the original is waaaaay better.....just wondering if i was the only one that remembered tkr

  • @johnnahodil I tried to get into TKR, but couldn't follow it too long. The "team" premise was a good idea, but it felt to much like it pulled away from the "One Man" making a difference theme. Viper was cool when it came out...but just didn't have the following I guess. :-)

  • the is 1000 pontiac trans am kitt building copy of that car. but there is no 1 car on you tube that can speak so it is only a copy of pontiac

  • @DjBranco Mine can speak. :-)

  • Everyone who says there's 4 seasons, they are correct, but for anyone in Edmonton Area, go to WEM and go to HMV, they got a new season with a FORD MUSTANG. In fact guys, here's a link to info about all the KNIGHT RIDER VEHICLES.

    1ST LINK: INFO ABOUT VEHICLES

2ND LINK: HOW TO MAKE UR OWN KITT AND KARR

SORRY GUYS, IT WON'T LET ME POST THE LINKS, but to get info on knight rider vehicles go to google and type in KITT, go to wikipedia, how to make your own knight rider car: look for knightreplicas

  • @acersimpson1 If you're talking about the new show with Justin Bruening.....it was a swing and a miss. Canceled after one season. I have the utmost respect for their attempts at it.....but the new 2008 version of KR with the Mustang and Val Kilmer as KITT can hardly be seen as season 5. Season 1-4 = Trans Am = The Hoff. I gave the new show a chance....but that's what Universal gets for not listening to the fans. :-)

  • What does he MEAN, "4th Season" ? I started watching Knight Rider since the first show/Season 1.

Has it really been that long?

  • @joeblohhh Knight Rider ran for "4" seasons. In each season, it was the same car....but it went through subtle changes. The dash changed a little, the bumper changed a little, etc. That's why I say, my Kitt is modeled after the car used in season 3 and 4. :-)

  • OMFG, that is fucking amazing!! I want to get started on my KITT, but I'm on unemployment rigfht now, which blows, lol

  • Wonderful ... do you buy it ? how much could cost this car ?

  • @Mickeylange2 I built this car myself beginning back in 1994 and have been steadily working on it ever since. Not sure of the accumulated cost.....but I know it's up there. :-)

  • your kitt replica is really great it looks just like the one in show to me I subcribed to your channel because you have a great kitt replica!!!!! :)

  • @skidsandmudflaptwins Thanks for the nice words. I'll be working on more videos and updates to my Kitt car in the near future. Thanks again.

    Mike

  • what an awesome car!

  • @CristianoCR17Ronaldo Thanks. :-)

  • @CristianoCR17Ronaldo

SO UNCREDIBLE NICE I CANT BELIEVE IT AWESOME !

  • Your car rocks! My dad and I are planning to build a KITT but I need to find out where I need to order the parts. Could I have a list where I can get parts to build the fourth season dashboard.

    Thanks :)

  • U are FREAKIN AWESOME :D

    n1 car :)

  • @Lumi3007 Thanks for the nice words. :-)

  • WOW NICE i love your car i hade a car like that (but with out the kitt stuff) i was going to make it in to a kitt car but NH wather 3 years ago besided to drop a tree on it loss my car 2007. it relly sucked....but anyway love the vid. you ROCK.

  • @19ford96 Thank you. :-) Sucks to hear about that tree incident....maybe sometime in the future you'll be able to start another one. :-)

  • Great car, infest in a pellet pistol for them lil varmints :D

  • ok thanks....

  • Mike, how's my symbol coming? Kal-el4 here

  • @9876Kalel Hi Kal......after October I'll give you a proof. :-)

  • woa!

  • it must like knight rider... ha ...freak!

    xD

  • @948493 Naaa.....that's putting it nicely. :-)

  • Awesome...

  • I'd use the pursuit mode if that bird even thinks about taking a dump on KITT

  • you like the word "Gang" don't you??

  • @dieglero @dieglero Gang, Folks, Peace all, later.....take your pick..... I use em all. :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike :-)

  • Hello I am strating to build my night rider car I would like to become a part of the night rider club

  • @africa11 Have you checked out some of the sites that offer forums where you can chat with, and meet many people who are part of the KR Community? One you may check out is knightfoundation . net

They are a good group of folks that can help out, assist, sell, and offer advice on Knight Rider, the cars, and anything else you may want to know. I'm a member there as well. My name with them is KNI1GHT

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • holy monotone

  • nice firebird

  • @dushbag38 Thank you.

  • get a chick

  • @tigerintermusic I got one thank you. The hottest one in the state. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT lol ite den

  • but may ask. can you send me the links for the best web sites?

  • @sweettooth80 Here are a few of the companies you can look up. Do a google search for any of these and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Marks Custom Kits, Lectric Enterprises, Rob Louisell Enterprises, Jupiter Electronics, ADIAT = Advance Designs In Automotive Technology, and so on. Many of these companies can reproduce and build much of the electronics and custom body parts that you see in my car. Hope this helps you. :-)

    Mike

  • Bird was admiring your awesome KITT replica, why did you mistreated it? :(

  • @Muryohken What he said in his comment below was...... "you, stupid materialist, this mind is dead of your spirit..He laughing to you stupidity..."

That doesn't sound like admiration to me. Sounds like a knock at me for what I did to my KITT car. If I misread it......my bad.....but that's how I took it. :-(

  • @KN1IGHT You misread it the little birdie you scared away was in your clip was "in awe of your magnidicent car, the other guy was nuts, your KITT replica is an amazing piece of work, I wish I had one! :)

  • @Muryohken I see. Thank you for the nice words. :-)

  • man thats the sweetest car i have ever seen so far man. where can i get one i want to do that too

  • @sweettooth80 Do some searches for Knight Rider conversions and you can find many companies that sell the parts to build your own. Peace man.

    Mike

  • this bird was a God...and he says to you: you, stupid materialist, this mind is dead of your spirit..He laughing to you stupidity...

  • @dekamer01 Think so do you? First off, you are virtually impossible to understand. You say stupidity? How about that wonderful grammar you are using. I can't even tell if you're giving me a compliment, or it's a derogatory statement? At any rate, do you homework and research this "birds" history where Knight Rider is concerned. Materialist? Try restorationist instead. More of these cars "like mine" have been saved because of this hobby. Get a clue buddy.

  • You have talent keep it up!! i loved kitt when i was a kid and to see one that i could probally build with time, money , and hard work, makes my dream alittle closer. Great video. keepem coming!

  • @weapondragon Thanks man. This was actually one of my older videos. I have many new ones since this one where much more has been done to Kitt. Thanks again though.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • you are so lucky KN1IGHT, you actually own a KITT, i am 37 years old and i wish i had one like that, loved that show !!!!!!

  • @RodrigoMJ32 Thanks man. It's been interesting building him over the years. Thanks for the nice words.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • best car ever for a fan almost the real thing god bess and enjoy it

  • @jesus10vega Thanks. :-)

  • Awsome car and work you have done to it...Just a quick question if you do drive this car on the open streets have you had any trouble with the police because the front scanner is red as I know a lot of states have laws (stupid laws) about having any type of red lights on the front your car???

  • @BIGGREENLEAF1 I do drive KITT on the open roads, but the scanner is only used at shows and with my car alarm functions. It is indeed illegal for me to drive with the scanner on, unless I'm on private property or on a closed street.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • get the fuck outta here !! wow that is sweet bring me memories of the show lol awesome !!! kitt

  • Nice Video...Very Informative...for guys like me..who are going to get the 3/4th season dash...

  • @uspervs1 Thanks. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT

can you email me mike..i emailed you and havent recieve anything..

    marcosmontel@yahoo.com

  • @uspervs1 Sorry bud....been in the middle of a crazy move to a new house. I'll touch base with you this weekend. Peace man.

    Mike

  • One word...Fucking Awesome!!!! Oh wait two words.

  • nice video and nice car

  • @ClanTKillers Thank you. :-)

  • I must say that I'm not much of the kinda of person that tries to recreat the old movies but i will say you have done a great job with this concept of Kitt and it looks very fun to be in. Keep up the great vid and thanks for sharing. Job well done!

  • @HolyShize Thank you. :-)

  • have seen any one get the accelerator pedel to light up and it is pushed on your or any other car i remember that and it was cool you have the cleanest nicest KITT i have ever seen

  • @dunn98632 I've seen that pedal used on a few cars. Thinking about getting it for Kitt....not sure yet. :-)

  • GAWSH I WANT TO SEE THAT!!! LIVE!!!!!!

  • @captainkmj Well, that could be arranged. :-) I do a bunch of car shows with Kitt in the area. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT What area? You're probably not anywhere near me. =(

  • @captainkmj Northeast Oklahoma, about 25 min from Tulsa.

  • @KN1IGHT I'll be within 100 miles of that area for several days on vacation this summer!

  • @captainkmj Well, the next upcoming show will be at the UMAC center in Tulsa. We are taking Ecto 1 to this year's Star Trek Convention as a sci fi exhibit. I haven't planned any immediate shows with Kitt yet, but I'm sure as June rolls through and we get into July.....he'll be attending many more of them. I'll be sure to post car show news and showings as they come up.

    Mike

  • Been a fan from the beginning, watched the first episode the Knight it aired (sorry, couldn't help myself) and a dream was fulfilled in '83 when my dad took me to Universal and I got to sit in it. Great job!!!

  • @creepsomber Thanks for the nice words. :-)

  • You did good job on it. There a lot of other who builted the dashboard differenctly. I been dreaming having one like FIrebird. Awesome car and sleek windsheild when sitting in feel good .

  • Great kitt you have there.I like the creative way you decided to set up the voice modulator as a flat screen instead of it being spit from the curves of the dashboard.I also love the camera you put on the interior light.Very imaginative. Will the buttons play touchtone sounds? Will you set the overhead buttons you will get to make a kitt sound from the show?

  • @knightrcer Most of your questions can be answered by watching some of my newer videos. And the voice box is on the dash where it's suppose to be, directly above the steering wheel. I've recently refitted it, so now it's more screen accurate. But the flat screen is just there since I cant see installing a CRT monitor. :-)

    Mike

  • wow i want it:)

  • i want one. that car is just insane. love kitt. good work.

  • i want one. that car is just insane. love kitt. good work.

  • wow like the car man

  • very cool car! I fell in love with Kitt 17 years ago, when i was 8.

  • fantastic! I fell in love with Kitt many years ago when i was 8.

  • fantastic! I fell in love with Kitt many years ago when i was 8.

  • Hey! I´m a Kitt´s fun, so I have to say that your car is wonderful. I wish that here, in Argentina, someone wolud have one like yours!

  • Thanks. :-)

  • wow . Respect man.thats a lot of work. Car looks awesome .

  • Thanks man. :-)

  • great video man. what year did you buy your car before you started this project? im looking to buy a firebird, around a 1986 or 1987, hopefuly begin with the front red lights in the front, and the rim shields. not sure how far ill go, but would like to give it that knightrider feel you know what i mean.

  • I purchased my donor Trans Am back in

1994. Over the years, I've made so many

changes to the car, many of which are

shown in my videos. Good luck on your

    conversion. :-)

  • I used to watch Knight Rider from time to time. You've done some really good work with the wiring and fabrication. I'm just curious - have you touched the engine? This car would be AWESOME if you put a nice motor in it with exhaust cutouts (so in that regard, you've got another functioning button AND your exhaust won't drone out the sound effects on your car until you want it to). Either way, nice work by far. Doing something like this correctly is not nearly as easy as it looks. Keep it up!

  • Thanks for the nice words. Kitt has a healthy tuned 350, and he has the high end set of Flowmasters for a third gen Trans Am. So he sounds great. I've got some new vids on the way soon so stay tuned. :-)

    Thanks again.

    Mike

  • any new vids of it i love ur kitt i had one ready to be biult went to drive to the paint shop and a guy ran the red light at 40 mph :( i need anther trans am i am thinking of biulding knight rider 2000 the red car from the movie but i dont know the year and make of the car

  • That sucks getting hit like that. :-( I've got a new vid coming soon. Stay tuned. :-)

    Mike

  • Great ! ! !

  • that steering wheel can't be safe

  • Safer than you might think. It's more durable and stronger than a stock "round" wheel, and it's mounted just like a custom wheel with a grant adapter. Trust me, if it wasn't safe, I would have received a ticket for it.....or I just wouldn't drive the car with it.

But believe me.....it's awesome to drive with, gives you more vehicle control, and is made of tough stuff. :-)

  • Here's a real detail nerd question for you, Mike. You kind of went fast through the interior as far as the seats and being the right color to be true to the show. Where did the seats come from? I've never seen bucket seats in a Trans Am that looked like that with the curved headrests with the hole in the center and for a few months, I even owned an '87 T\A back in the day.

  • Those seats are stock PMD (Pontiac Motor Division) seats that came out in the 82 model Trans Am. Those particular seats were the same style of what Kitt had in the series. Mine were originally in horiffic condition, so I went through Classic Industries to reupholster them.

And the curved head rests with the holes in them....well, that's how the stunt man drove Kitt when there was no driver. He hid in the seat, and looked through that hole. :-)

    Weird huh?

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • three words... Rock and Roll. nice dude.

  • Thanks . :-)

  • ...You must like Knight Rider - ha! - freak!

    Godlike! :D

Besides: Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I wish I had one too! ;)

  • That Is just an Awesome car man! Good job! 5*****s!

  • That Is just an Awesome car Man! Good job! 5*****s

  • Thanks. :-)

  • Awesome car!! I didn't know there are companies that make KITT parts. I think if KITT was around in 2010, he would have the upgraded "screen" in the dash like you have.

  • Thanks for the nice words. I'd like to give Kitt a touch screen for the dash....but for the meantime....that LCD will have to do. :-) Keep watching my channel around Spring time.....Kitt's going to have some new "toys" soon. :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • @KN1IGHT This is pretty cool. But an LCD man?

    Stick a crt in there!

  • CRT? Don't think so. To much weight in the dash, and it would look too silly. Kitt would have had an LCD or a touch screen by now.

    :-)

  • Too silly? You do know what knight rider is about, right? :)

  • No....of course not.....I only grew up watching the show, and spend the last 15 years working on my Kitt conversion....

but apparently you are unaware of the logistics and the physics of mounting a CRT monitor in an aftermarket fiberglass dashboard. As I stated....it would look too silly....and for today's day and age....Kitt would have upgraded to an LCD or touch screen. Makes much more sense then sticking with an archaic CRT. It's much safer than one too.

  • Smartass can't take a joke.

Kitt wouldn't have upgraded. A CRT far more reliable and durable, and if kitt was upgraded they'd probably swap out almost everything or move to a different platform altogether than a 3rd gen fbody. Having a lcd randomly fitted to a thirty year old car with no other modifications would be the silly thing to do. I imagine the knight foundation needs the money for other stuff.

And safer? you ever try busting a crt? These things could outlive the planet itself.
