  • And Jimmy said, "The hell with germs!"

  • Ritchie Blackmore and Jimi Page both greatest from the 70's !!

  • <3

  • blasfemo

  • pure talent

  • Shit

  • like a boss ... love you jimmy

  • ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!

  • Real musician who knew wat's best, Chopin's prelude no.4 in e minor op.28

  • well to add a turd to all the arguments (not sure why people argue over art, sort of like food) there is talent and skill and there is also enjoyment...sort of like there is cabbage and broccoli and there is also cheeeese !!, I think Page is awesome, but cant stand listening to him...i want some fun in my music...so shoot me !! I dont need flatted 8ths......

  • @fuzzypige222 it sure sucks that u cant stand listening to him nor can u have fun listening to his music and stuff he did with zep (which u implied by that "i want some fun in my music"comment) even though u think hes awesome *rollseyes*

  • Page is my Beethoven

  • He didn't play on You Really Got Me, he played on Revenge off the Kinks first album, you can hear him reusing the riff on his song She Just Satisfies.. He also backed up Pete on the Who's I Can't Explain, as well as playing Lead on the B side to that single.

  • Yes, this is Chopin's Prelude #4.

If you don't have a FLAC recording of all 24 of them you are doing yourself a disservice.

  • 63

  • what year was this?

  • @Detheven 1983, ARMS concert :)

  • guess he never took up the biological research course..thank god!

  • He is the greatest. God bless you for blessing us with your gift dearest one. clr

  • Page will always be one of the greatest guitarists ever. To even put a name like " Slash" in any of his videos is a sin. Slash couldnt be Jimmy's pick boy.

  • boner accomplished

  • Nowadays, you're an amazing "guitarist," by playing pentatonics as fast as possible. You can tell actual skill by emotionally playing slowly.

    Page is a fucking legend.

  • He`s using a B-Bender Telecaster by the looks of it.

  • Playing Chopin or did he refer to Jane Birkin's song Jane B?

    Listen to this:

    "youtu.be/wklHrN0nZw4"

  • @Tubemanjac Nope. Chopin prélude 28

  • @Tubemanjac /watch?v=ef-4Bv5Ng0w :)

  • amazing how a 170 year old piece of piano music can be transformed into this rendition. both versions are perfect in their own way. good music is good music.

  • 30 people need to get punted off the planet...

  • You'd think he could afford a better suit.

  • @LesIieVanHouten /facepalm you poor fool..

  • querido jimmy:

te estare eternamente agradecido por haber creado esa maquina de emociones tan poderosa llamada led zeppelin. a lot of thanks from spain

  • Chopin' broccoli

  • @RisingSon011 She Chop....uhhhhh.

Well my lady, she .....went to the store.....she bought some broccoli.....she brought it home.....she's choppin broccoli, she's chopin broccoli, she's chopin broccoli - ehh-ehhh-aaaaa- aaayyy!

  • What song is this?

  • the title shoud have been "Jimmy Page Playing a telecaster"

  • @grrgrralex Why would that be the title? He played Telecasters from 1966-1969, and he bought this one on the 75 U.S. tour where he used it extensively. This was his main post Zeppelin guitar (with the exception of #1).

Seeing Page with a Tele is nothing special.

  • One of my favorite guitarist, my favorite composer...my life is made!!!

  • What a sweet Tele...

  • @lostintheapplasauce are u kidding me? Jimmy Pages was a guitargenius before Slash started preschool. It would rather be the other way.

  • @stuenes JImmy page motivated slash. And so did joe perry, thats why slash looks and trys to play like joe and jimmy

  • @lostintheapplasauce Your an idiot.

  • @lostintheapplasauce ._. are you fcking kidding me?

  • Jimmy Page played on 90% of the singles that came out of Britain in the 60s, including You Really Got Me by the Kinks and The Who's Substitute. No credits and he never asked for a dime.

  • @Evster2012 90% is bit of an exaggeration but he sure played on a lot of them.

  • @Evster2012 Is there any way you can back up this claim? I'm really intrigued but I can't find anything but myths about You really Got Me and nothing for Substitute

  • @Evster2012 Uh, that's not true. He was a working session player at the time and that's how he earned his living.

  • @steveconn Perhaps 90% was an exaggeration. And I know that's what his trade was. He got a flat fee for his work, yes. But credits? Rarely if ever. Please define your disagreement more concisely. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "That's not true". :)

  • @Evster2012 I meant he got paid for his work, which he did.

  • @Evster2012 ...is that so. Were did you read that retard? You yank retarded dickheads are so stupid!! Next you will be telling me man walked on the moon!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 From the James Bond theme Goldfinger to I Can't Explain to A Little Help From My Friends (the great Joe Cocker version) to Diamonds by Jet Harris (a VERY young Jimmy Page) plus Nico, Lulu, Donovan, The Kinks, the Hard Day's Night soundtrack, etc, etc, etc. Page plays on all of them. You'll also find that John Paul Jones is, likewise, all over British pop music in the sixties. But then I'm just another retarded Yank I guess.

  • @BustlingHedgerow ...and you are telling me this because?? Atleast you know your place.

  • @Evster2012 : So what. Most of his licks were stolen blues and rock riffs anyways. None of the people he ripped off never saw a dime. everybody knows that.

  • I'm so sick of people bagging on Page as a songthief. Rain Song? Ten Years Gone? Kashmir? Wholly his creations. Credit? People say he didn't give credit to the songs he borrowed from. I believe it was Robert Plant who liberated lyrics. Not Jimmy Page. And even Robert will tell you it was out of respect for the people who inspired him. As for Chopin, it was credited on the Deathwish II soundtrack as Chopin. Bert Gansch. Davey Graham. Willie Dixon's family sued Zep, and the song was Muddy Waters!

  • @Evster2012 Thank you! Jesus, this man, who has put so much beautiful music into the world, gets shit on so much, it's sickening. How many times is Zep ripped off? Fucking ENDLESSLY....and you never here a word from the neurotic c@nts that haunt YouTube. Anyways...I agree 100% and as always he plays straight from his heart.

  • @Evster2012 Page is a superb composer of guitar music . If someone doesnt like his music , I get that , but pretending not to like it beacuse of some percieved ethical viloation is pretentious and weak . People who say that crap ion these vids are revealing themselves as idiots who repeat what they have read rather than actually listening to the songs

  • Someone asked "How many cigarettes can he smoke?" The video's two minutes long! Umm, one? Your best mate and drummer dies. You shelter yourself away thinking it's all over. Eric Clapton knocks on your door and says "Come on out. It's for Ronnie". You do and people shit on you for playing Chopin???

  • To be so drucken and out of your self and play so nice then you most be god. I mean Good.

  • Chopin's Prelude No. 4 in E minor, Opus 28, circa 1839.

  • @joelwagnerpiano sounds like santanas song europa

  • @TheKalen486 I think you mean Europa sounds like Chopin. I think Chopin wrote this piece about 100 years before Carlos Santana was born.

  • Smooth as cream.

  • @ShaneScarazziniMusic and creamier than cum

  • what Chopin song is this one?

By the way you know when a music its good when it makes u chills down ur spine :D

  • @PeterSteves europa from santana is better

  • @TheKalen486 They can't be compared. They are pieces by different epochs, made by the virtuosos who lived in them. I invite you to enjoy Chopin interpreted in piano, it's really delightful.

  • @PeterSteves op28 no 4. my favorite by him

  • @PeterSteves not song, "piece"

    And it's Prelude Op. 28 No. 4

  • This gave me chills all the way. He should use a Les Paul, best guitar for this kind of thing. Hands down

  • Good guitar Jimmy,s is not worse than Frideric,s piano.

  • Good guitar Jimmy,s is not worse than piano Frideric,s. Gretings from Chopin,s country. .

  • And the cigarette never even left his mouth. He's so perfect.

  • just found the original notesheet on 8notes.com... Prelude in E minor Op.28 No.4

  • heroin.

  • fuckin killing it with the blue suit, tele, and lit cigarette.

  • Talk about a god.

  • oh... well... there go my ovaries

  • Jimmy Page late 70's is a mere shadow of his greatness of the late 60's early 70's.

  • @Murreh in through the outdoor was a pretty god album though.it came out in 78

  • @smithdsmit I know, its brilliant. However, I meant live playing.

  • Bet Jimmy claimed he wrote this after playing it. Guy definitely had trouble giving credits to the original artists...

  • @steveconn go read the tabloids

  • @RisingSon011 Why? Is someone else suing Jimmy for plagiarism?

  • Almost has a Jeff Beck Cause we've ended as lovers feel..Probably not a coincidence..

  • bend like this on a piano...

  • No me puedo dar cuenta que tema de Chopin esn puede decírmelo?

  • @gordomilrayita op 28 no 4

  • I am primarily a guitarist, but have played this piece on piano and had never thought of doing it on guitar, but this video inspired me to do it! (Although I think I'll do classical guitar style)

  • Oh my God...

  • Sounds very Pink Floyd ish...

  • @Peridot120 what does that say about pink floyds compositions?.. love floyd's guitarist but he probably got it from chopin some of the time..remember this a guitar cover of chopin by page not an original composition

  • Telecaster with b-bender...makes the whole tone bending a lot easier...

  • Happy Birthday Jimmy!!!!! You will always remain the greatest!

  • I would go crazy if Mr. Page could play piano, especially the final of Chopin's fourth sonata.

  • Hey Troll That's a Strat

  • @gatorschaf haha no its not

  • @gatorschaf A STRAT???? Hahahaha, right!

  • @gatorschaf thats a tele actually

  • Back to a Telecaster I see!

  • what you don't see is after the show chopin came up on stage and kneeled before jimmy.

  • some folks are shredding and some are Chopin

  • 24 people don't have ears!

  • Jimmy Rules.

  • Yngwie Malmsteen can play this 100 times as fast! Ahhhhhhh ha ha ha ha!

  • @skwiddjergensen

And it will sound 100 times worse. Playing fast doesn't equate to good music.

  • @skwiddjergensen Yeah, and nobody cares....but Jimmy....well he matters and always will.

  • @skwiddjergensen Its not how many notes you can play, its what you do with the notes you got!!

  • @skwiddjergensen this particular piece is a very slow piece to begin with... so why should he play it fast at all?

  • @skwiddjergensen So? We don´t really care about speed. This is not a race...this is rock and roll. It`s clear you don´t understand that, you have a lot to learn kid hahaha! By the way, what a ridiculous comment you wrote.

  • @Darbukarlitos1 My point exactly. Some Yngwie fans have been riding my ass. So I posted this message sarcastically.

  • @skwiddjergensen Well,It's good to know that you're just being sarcastic. The bad news about it is that you are going to read a looooot of messages in you inbox lol. =D

  • The reality smacks when you realise you're 45 and he was still in his 30s when he did this

    !

  • @Evster2012 Yeah but then long before he was 45 he was pretty much played out - so hang in there, champ - some peak early, some later

  • Awesome my favorite guitarist playing a song by favorite pianist.

  • learning about Chopin in Music Appreciation. Happened upon this video... jizzed my pants.

  • love this!!!

  • GREAT!

  • Jimmy Page is a musical geniues , the gretest guitarest ever!!!!

He plays with so much emotion and changed the way rock bands arrange music -Led Zep will always be thE gretaest Band EVER

  • Chopin Reincarnated

  • Comment removed

  • @MrOroli at least in thousands of years. so like when was the last time?

  • Man...love those smooth note bends. Sure it sounds a bit like Beck...but is that a bad thing? Hahaha..not from my perspective! Real sweet and a nice post. Glad I found it! ~KSK

  • @Karmannah The reason Page and Beck have similar sounding styles is because they've been jamming together since they were in high school.

  • @StainIessChina Cool! Well..... they BOTH sound great! Thanks and have a great week. ~KSKing

  • Classical music is the best.

  • JIMMY PAGE IS THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER THERE EVER WAS,IS,OR WILL EVER BE!!!!

  • @gypsygirl8668 pleaseeee

  • @gypsygirl8668 well ya got slash, jeff beck, hank marvin, les paul, jimi hendrix, eric clapton, pete townsend, terry rowley, paul kossof, stevie ray vaughn, bb king, oh and dont forget johnny winter,,,,just to name a few

  • @gypsygirl8668 brought tears to my eyes

  • Can you say BECK ?

  • 2 minutes in Heaven

  • After seeing this video, I Know that the cliché saying That God has a long white Beard is false !

  • I wonder how many teens wanted to start smoking after this was first released

  • This is from the death wish ii soundtrack. He played this alot in his firm years.

  • I remember once upon a time, during a Heartbreaker solo on some video posted on youtube, Jimmy Page busted into some (probably Segovia-inspired) classical Bach interpretations on his guitar. THAT, is a musician, above and beyond a guitar player.

  • i'll go to hell for this words but it sounds better than Chopin.

  • @jimi799 Really? How many times have you heard Chopin play? .... So. A rock guitarist memorized the "melody" line to a short Chopin prelude. Well...more or less, anyway. Amazing. I bet he can read, too...with a little effort.

  • @themistermax

are you serious.... I bet he can READ too?

  • Just imagine what the keyboard player is thinking...

  • wow...

i love listening to this every so often.. i get so wrapped up in learning to play guitar as fast as i can, when i try to play slow jams, i still go on these random fast runs. have to listen to this and some John Frusciante to keep me grounded and remember slow sounds utterly beautiful too...

  • This isn't Chopin you fireaking idiots!

  • @adefaira No duh, it's Page, playing Chopin.

  • Comment removed

  • @IMattchewB

    LOL

  • @adefaira it's called chopin's prelude in e minor..fireaking idiot!

  • @1csar1 I stand corrected! Gee I never new that.

  • @adefaira .........wow....really dude....REALLY

  • @ILoveVitas909 Yeah really. What you never saw anybody admit a mistake before?

  • @adefaira Not one like that.

  • Freaking fantastic, never ever heard this before by " the master ". If you close and listen to it, it sounds on the realm of the lead in Tea For One. Sad, but great song, Tea For One was very under rated. I never here radio stations playing it. I know it's long, that is probably why.... You go Jimmy.

  • Great.! Worth every note.

  • Wow. Jimmy Page in suit playing Chopin on black telecaster while smoking cigarette. If it wasnt that awesome, i wouldn't belive that this is actualy Jimmy.

  • I love this, I wish it was on itunes.. anyway to get this on my ipod? a longer version or more classical music would be wonderful? is anyone listening?

thanks for posting it by the way

  • I'm learning this song on piano, it's called chopin's prelude in e minor.

  • Only Jimmy Page could play Chopin and smoke a fag and still make drop dead music you rule Mr Page #1 always Chopin would be impressed

  • smoke n play is a skill

  • And Jimmy didn't even claim he wrote it. Amazing!

  • It's Jimmy Page AND Chopin in one, how can ANYONE dislike this
