If MEP Danny Hannan appeared before our local County Board of Supervisors and spoke, the Supes would look at each other and say "what is he saying, why can't he speak English?".... and "who is Goethe and I don't remember England having a King named Lear either...".....
To conclude the EU is in its death throes suggests that it was once 'alive' , I have never seen any evidence of even the smallest actual benefit to the populous to support this!
To see exactly why the Euro is flawed, I suggest The Tragedy of the Euro by Philipp Bagus. It's only some 150 pages and can be found for free (legally) on the web.
Guess that is a good question how the UK ended up with one of it intelligent men wasted in Brussel while enduring Cameron back at home. But you know waht, get Hannan known back in the UK, there will be a election in a few years and folks will look for some intelligent candidate hopefully this time.
well, lefties? Is he right or wrong? If he's wrong, can you say why, without resorting to insults, vague platitudes, or just general leftie drivel? Ha ha!
Though I have tremendous respect for Mr Hannan, I think that his recent speeches deal far too much in Shakespearean and other references and not enough of the 'just say it as it is' style that he had when attacking Gordon Brown. As a supporter of his cause I too am very concerned about how the speeches he give are always to an empty chamber, but if they know that rather than a stunning piece of relevant oratory they will get a Shakespeare recital I find it difficult to blame them.
Have to disagree, though: the EU was a seriously OLD institution at year 1, let alone year 55 - yet another attempt at a diluted version of Communism.
gotta love the literature references...

quoting a dead bard does nothing to prove the financial crisis was caused by the euro... it just makes you look stupid.
moother888 6 months ago
@moother888 you think Hannan is stupid? One of the most intelligent men alive today? Think carefully- do you think he is making himself look stupid?

I love that he quotes Shakespeare. I do that often. Just yesterday I came home and my dog was having sex with my wife. I said, "Out, damned Spot!"

@spencertheartist Insults, vague platitudes and drivel are not exclusive to left wingers.

Highly amusing, as always. What a shame Dan always seems to be playing to an empty house (which is perhaps quite apt).
