  • Hauntingly beautiful. Well done Alfruna

  • Спасибо, я любила его! Super!!

  • OMG, OMG!!! I don't know which is my favorite Al Bowlly song!! lol....

It's a tie between this one and "Close Your Eyes"

Absolutely Awesome! I'm totally in love with Al Bowlly, and I'm 25 yrs old!!! I think I might be a little too late for that one! :)

  • Thank you for posting this lovely rendition of Dark Eyes. Maya

  • Carrément sublime ! Je pense que nous avons tout à apprendre de cette interprétation ancienne et si palpitante.

  • Dear Lee....this one is awesome...the singer is a fav of my friend Genia...almost every vid she has him as music....wonderful pics... you are right.... it is soo impressing!!

    Good night...Judie:-)

  • So beautiful..

    Thanks. :)

  • Lee thanks so much..it isn't blocked and just gorgeous...Al Bowly btw the fav singer of a dear friend of mine...she posts so many vids with his song...

  • The best singing version - one of the few not ending in kitsch. Great.

  • very delightfull and effective english version. completely made up their own words and did it in a jazzy two-step, very refreshing, bravo

  • nice people and nice song!

  • i really love this piece since my childhood. i only have the instrumental copy of this... this is the first time that i hear the vocal version.

  • First song I learned on piano as a child.

  • I would have volunteered. Anyway, I agree it's the best English version I've heard.

  • This is my favorite Russian folk song. I like it better in Russian, since I am Russian, but this is nice.

  • What does nationality have to do with critiquing the merits of music?

  • It's neither Russian nor folk... The lyrics has been written by Ukrainian poet Yevgen Grebinka in 1848, music has been composed by German author Florian Hermann in 1884.

  • @laconically this is russian song mabey vryte some ukrainan poet but this is trad mark vor rassian and allyes be russiaa:)

  • @laconically Don't say this Bullshit to anyone. These guys had no such music and lyrics. Close but not even warm. You must be stupid dumb saying this or ukrainien what is a lot worse 'cause in that case you have not brains only FAT in you head. I cant believe how dumb some people are. But ain't surprised about ukrainiens.

  • @GutSamaritan laconically is right you dumbass... check your languages.... start with english because what you have been typing here looks like the work of a 3 year old :S

  • @laconically befpre than 1848...

was published for 1st time in Literaturnaya gazeta, early 1843.

so was written ever before that :P

Was published with the arrangement of Florian Hermann's Valse-Hommage op.21,

done by Sofus Gerdal in 1884.

So was composed before than that :P

  • Can anyone please tell me who is the singer? Very, very great version of a faboulos song!!!!
