bought the floater jet from hobby king. you might like that one. it floats and is an excellent plane to fly. has a brush less motor and the price is $59.00. all you need is a receiver and battery. unbelievable flight. of course i'll always like my super lightning/wild hawk since i have 4; three brush less and one brushed.
i have 3 planes with ailerons. i smashed the nose of one and bent the shaft, and i smashed the nose of a brand new axn floater jet from hobby city because i didn't reverse the elevator. my slow stick has ailerons but i broke it because the servos to the ailerons came loose. for now i'll be using rudder on my wild hawk and easy star. in this hobby you need spare planes.
i used a 3 cell lipo in place of the nimh battery. more power and it does not harm that 380 brushed motor. i have brush less now and all it is, is you get higher of course and gliding time is longer.
@boywaimea I will probably try that too. The brushes on my motor should be well broken in now as well. I don't use this plane as much now. I use mostly the Dynam Hawk Sky BL-Lipo. It is like flying a brushless - lipo Wild Hawk with ailerons. You should check that one out.
@eclipser2004 i used a voltage alarm with a 3 cell 1300 lipo. i was up about 25 minutes before the warning alarm sounded. it seemed longer. but this was with my battered and beaten plane with the brushed 380 motor. this motor is reliable and tough. i ran the motor hard and it still flew well. nothing wrong with a brushed motor. very reliable. i have the superlightning from hobby people. it looks like the wild hawk. different name but great plane.
