  • No narration = not a Let's Play.

  • How can you play it on your Computer? Isn't the game too old?

  • @ZuckZuck12345 I made these vids on win XP and am able to run it on my current system (win 7) but i can't seem to record anything properly. Fraps crashes and hypercam records in black and white.

  • This really looks like tropico 1, same developer?

  • @Grove332 Nope it's made by Sid Meier, Tropico is fun but this game goes a lot deeper and focuses only on building rail roads.

  • @Grove332 No man, it not the same engine :D... dunno about the first tropico but the game is different in many ways. You did know Sid made the civilization series i hope? :D, colonization is a great game too, theres a expansion of civ4 for it too, civ4: colonization.

  • @madmenyo I know Sid made Civ 1-5 + SMax + whole bunch of other games, but tropico 1 has very similar graphics to this one and map style/other stuff

  • @Grove332 Appart from it being both isometric maps i can't see any similarities. I'm a novice game maker myself so that may be why i see all the different elements. Anyway, they didn't use the same engine.

  • @Grove332 both games are from PopTop

  • @Hasbone thats the publisher.

  • this game dosen't work on vista o 7 does it?

  • @Chamagurkafarmi I ran this on XP, dunno if can get it to work on win 7, would be a shame if not. But if theres a way i will find out.

  • @madmenyo ok, thanks rember playing this game years ago on windows 98, really miss it, sid meirs railroad anit the same ;(

  • @Chamagurkafarmi

Nope it isn't, shame that sequals get a lot worse and loose a lot of gameplay. If only we where blind we could just disregard graphics and put the money where it belongs.... at gameplay :D.

  • NOSTALGIA RUSH!

  • god this bring back memories oh my god how much i played this, loved the music and everything in it

  • Would anybody mind telling me how to raise my personal net worth efficient? I know how to buy stock of companies, but money of my CPU opponnents raises much faster than mine.

  • @pablomaal

Keep buying stock often. A neat trick would be to buy your own stock when you know it's going to raise a lot. Like when you finished a long passanger line. Your personal wealth has nothing to do with your in game company money so just buy often. Don't buy from the weaker CPU's and don't even buy from CPU's on the easy levels.

  • When I click on a station, where it says demand, it's the stations demand, right? :P

  • @iscrewy

Yup, and once you go over demand you won't get paid that much.

  • @madmenyo

I'm so horrible at this game... :(

  • awesome job keep up the good work

    !!!

  • If there was a railroad game that would hook me, it should have the big maps, trains and goods of RT2 with 3D graphis (I mean better than RT3) the track laing system of Sid meiers RR and the signal system of Transport tycoon. that would be my game for the next 10 years.I am still searching so if there is such a game please someone let me know.

  • how do you take over other compangys please pm me!

  • That's the old saying goes: You got to spend money to make money. And the only way to make good money in RT2 is to get those loans

  • RAILROAD TYCOON 2! that was my childhood right there.

  • @madmenyo Just the sound for changing the game speed brings back so many good memories. :) Thanks for uploading!

  • No narration = not a let's play.

  • @ForcedToSignUp The music in this game is too good to talk over. :P

  • Still playin......

  • Is the version you have different from the original? My main menu screen has a redsih/ maroon background. I also can't lay bridges across lakes/oceans.

  • @foxden1992

I have the platinum edition with the 2nd century expansion, doubles the mission count too.

  • i have railroad tycoon 2 and i suck at it :(( i hope after i get done watching your LP i will get better :D

  • @animelover6600

Feel free to ask anything how stupid it may seem, i will be glad to help you mate.

  • @madmenyo :D thanks

  • i dow hef the platinum versoin but the game has been cool!

  • I never played RT 2, i only played RT 3 (and i think it's awesome:). But my question is: is there a possibility of purchasing factories, farms etc. in RT 2?

  • @xagog Yes.

  • @xagog I had RT2 gold edition on my mac. You could purchase businesses on the map and receive a portion of their revenues each year. Sometimes I'd just mess around on free play and slowly take over the whole map! :D Pointless, but still pretty fun.

  • @hex19show This is exactly what i was doing in RT3 :D

  • @xagog

Yes, gameplay wise RT2 has more then RT3. That counts for most prequel vs sequel. Although RT1 is really limited because of it's age.

  • Did you install this from the disc? My computer running WinXP won't even install off the CD and I really want to play with music on it.

  • @someguy451 I have XP and used RRT2. You have to download the free patch for RRT2 to work on XP. File planet is one source to go to.

Do a google search for Railroad Tycoon 2 patch for XP.

  • OMG....Memmories.....omg....

  • The only competitor to this game is OpenTTD. Anyone with me? :)

  • @maxins actaly RT3 is comeing into at least a pretty close second

  • @vincentmagician

Yeah RT3 is nice but i didn't find anything else who can come close to these 2 games :(

  • @maxins ttd?

  • @snedden27 transport tycoon deluxe. I have some video's on openTTD check it out if your curious, it's an awesome game with endless content free for everyone since it's open source.

  • railroad tycoon is the best game ever. mostly I prefer 2 over the 3rd one but I like them all.

  • @DJSkrewzz Is the game paused? Do you have train running rights in the territory you're trying to reach? Is the track connected to the track that cones with the station?

  • why no voice???? its a lets play ?!?!?

  • Railroad tycoon 2 is like 20 years old but it is awesome :D

  • @TrainingArena555

well, in my experience the newer a game is the more dumbed down and capped it is. A exception is civilization and simcity but if you take alook at the elderscrolls, x-com, settlers, etc. Also imo Sid's railroads is a compleye disaster. i think this is because developers invest more money in art and graphics AND they want to attract the casual gamer by making it more easy. Anyway, i got a blog about it on gamespot

  • @madmenyo

Thats absolutly right! I miss the old times. because there were so brilliant games. Today it's all about the money. I like your video. Many thanks

  • @madmenyo Not really. Most old games sucked too, it's just that nobody remembers the bad ones. Same thing nowadays.

  • @madmenyo I want a damn complex game!

  • @Tornado15555 Well if you like war strategy you could go for civilization IV. It is very complex on higher difficulties. For even more complexity try out the hearts of iron series. It's a WWII simulation where you can do pretty much everything.

If you don't mind graphics you can try dwarf fortress, it's a dwarf simulator where you can build a fortress for your dwarves and explore. Get some video tutorials with it since you won't be able to understand this for several hours.

  • @madmenyo Hearts of Iron :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I shall get it!

Thanks for the recommendations in extreme precision, mate!

  • You might have a electric train running on a none electric track. Otherwise, make sure the stations really are connected.
