  • just timed it, was around 5.3-5.4 seconds to get to 100 from standing start... pretty fast.... all tho fg xr6 turbo says they can do it in 5.1,

  • @10202063 It's definitely an auto, it's just that it gets wheel spin at the top of first gear, hence the drop in speed as it shifts to second... There's a few FG XR6T's with the ZF that do the same thing.

  • Anyone thinking that this is a manual is on something that is altering their minds and is making them think that a human can shift this fast with a clutch pedal and gear stick to contend with. BTW, that was my longest sentence this month.

  • Looks like a manual to me. I own a 4 speed auto BA mkII xr6 turbo, i dont get anywhere near as much of a drop in speed going flat foot in tiptronic mode or otherwise. Cant hear any shifting noises but who knows. Why the fuck would you film it sideways anyway? all in all bad video...

    Trust me when I say that there is a world of difference between a BA XR6T and an FG F6 ( I know, I used to own a BA MKII XR6T with the 4 speed).

    And guys, enough already !!! It's an auto !!! Why would I pretend otherwise ???

  • Hmm 6 speed autos do reduce torque through shifts dont they? Where as a 4 speed just slams, i got a 4speed xr6t and it just slams straight in no torque reduction or nothing. lol its pretty damn fast to, alright i have had an edit tune and stuff.

  • If the guy says it's auto, then it's a bloody auto. So sick of wankers on these vids just to try and make the uploaders look like liars. I would say it's jealousy, because their dads probably drive camry's. If you have an f6 ute, and it doesn't shift like this, maybe it's because you drive differently...eg. you get off the pedal early cause you're scared because it's the first car you've driven with more than 100kw.

  • Mate. It's my old man's car and I can tell you right now. It's an auto. Traction is why it's all weird and looks slow-ish (which I can tell you...it's not...any auto that can spin the wheels at 80km when you plant the right foot is rapid!!!).

  • boost gauge is usually in the fg's under the revs and oil should have been under the speed.

    The ZF 6-Speed auto in the same car much quicker. Runs 13.1 sec 1/4 mile off the showroom floor..but don't take my word for it , copy and paste below and see for yourself.

  • @billybodybuilder mate read the header. its an auto. i've got to admit the ZF gearbox is one of the best out there but it takes control to use it properly.

    If that's the way the ZF operates then fine but that lag must put a dent in the 0-100 kmh times for sure. (it still won't stop me from buying an FG XR6T auto.)

  • i work at ford and they put a smaller rear housing on the turbo from the bf. they hit full boost fukin quick! tramp the gas at 100 in the dry and they spin the wheels

  • Wrong. The put a smaller inducer on the FG XR6. The FG F6 remains the same as the BF. And no they don't spin at 100kph unless you have bald tyres

  • No, they don't! If you had cheese cutting 17inch 185's on the rear then maybe. 100kph in these cars is top of 2nd and into 3rd. I had to get mine up to 360rwkw to get it to power skid at 100kph!

  • 6psi doesn't lag much. Over 12psi you start to feel the lag problem. If my ears don't deceive me, you can hear this car spin, almost off the mark. Thats without any boost yet. It comes on when he's doing about 40.

    Your comment about FWD cars was a little strange(?). Of cause there are FWD cars that will beat this time. As there are other RWD cars. Light FWD cars can be formidable.

    Usually FWD cars are a little lighter for starters. Take 100kg off any car and it makes a huge difference.

  • My 380 does the same times with the same weight, same size engine.

    Difference is supercharged.

    Much better torque distribution with supercharging, just a 45 degree torque curve.

  • I peeked at your youtube page. First things first....

    1: Yours is not just a Mistsi 380 is it? It's a TMR380.

    2: It's not the same power. This car is 310kw compared to your 230kw.

    3: It's not the same weight. This car is 1815kg compared to yours at 1670kg. (Thats -145kg) The TMR380 picks up 1.5kw/kg over the FG.

    4: Same times? Best wheels could do with the TMR, 7.6 seconds although yours does better in the low 6's. 400m times were abismall in the 15's which is very sad. FG F6...13's maybe?

    Fact is wheels never drove it, they drove the concept car....whick was a US galant chopped and welded.

  • Just to put my last post into persective, I'm not knocking the TMR. No way! Mitsi has stepped up and really delivered a car that has power potential.

    Both Ford and Holden have SCT & VCM respectively. Can the TMR be further enhanced by computer editing. I'm asking cause I dont know.

    I agree on supercharger v turbo. The former being nice and smooth without tearing your head off after every gear change.

    I just wanted to clear up a couple of things about weight and power OK.

  • no need for supercharger, makes almost as much power naturally aspirated. besides, its almost a direct comparison to a bmw m5. a real aussie comparison to the lambo/ferrari is the Joss Supercar. look it up ;) in the testing, it got 0-100 in 2.8 seconds... faster than any italian :D

  • The W427 is not even close to a supercar imo. Supercars are built from the ground up and the W427 is just a normal clubsport with the 7lt LS7 Z06 Corvette engine. The Corvette weighs around 1400kg and the W427 weighs close to 2 tonnes.

  • Hey frombris. Bought the car with exhaust and have since had a maf tune. Gone from 215rwkw to 250rwkw. Cam & OTE....320 circa

    What I find impressive in these engines is the torque and how early it comes on. This car would chew my old XR6T to 70kph. But then it would be all over for the Commy . lol

    Even the ppl that did the tune were impressed with the low-mid torque. So much so he is selling his VZ & buying a VE.

    Other than the mags, mine looks bog stock. Lookout XR6T's lol......VRrooom

    The Falcon style (IMO) is old. Not much change in the FG since BA's from 2003. Which I don't blame them for. Holden do the same thing with some models. Look at VN's to VS's. Ran that body for 9 years.

    I like them both. At the moment it's Holden. Cammed and tuned sounds awesome with similar power. A turbo just can't match that sound.

    I might change back. Who knows?

    Do your self a favor. Appreciate both. Then you have the best of both worlds.

  • Yeah its ppl that go on saying Fords are shit or Holdens are crap, I feel sorry for them. They are depriving themselves on some great vehicles made by their rivals.

    I loved my Falcon. Being pushed to the back of the seat up to 120kph is aaaaawesome. Now I have just got my Commodore I will mod that too. The styling is so European. Love it. And its a V8 which will be a good starting point.

    All I can say is this Ford / Holden debate is for the naive that will learn over time.

    Both have there upsides and downsides. Personally, I've got my VN SS, love it to bits. Still get idiots in new cars (both Fords & Holdens) that want a challenge, but we're talking 20 year old technology versus new technology.

    Still give them a run for there money though, it's all good.

    The thing has THAT much grunt that it just can't get it all to the ground unless you feed the power in. On this occassion it was let loose all at once.

    If ever I had the need to travel at 350kph, I don't think a Falcon would be my car of choice.

    They (Falcon Turbos) are a formidable car. I have sold mine since and now own a VE Berlina 6.OL 6 spd auto. I just missed the V8 sound. Now I miss the power. Cam maybe? Stay tuned *lol*

  • Compared with a $150k bmw m3, this car has similar performance but at a much cheaper price. The only reason u need a lambo is if either ur wife is fucking the pool boy or ur dick is the size of an ant's leg.

  • The F6 is a great car but don't forget they're essentially it's a stock falcon (which are used as taxis) with a new body kit, boosted engine and upgraded suspension and brakes (and of course a few badges). Like an Sti or an Evo, it has no sex appeal but loads of fun.

  • Mercs and BMW's are also used as taxis in Aus & europe.... So your saying its taken from the FG platform and built up with nearly all components different to a standard falcon? welcome to the world of modern cars, all manufacturers use standard platforms and then add to them! eg the zeta platform which makes lots of cars globally...

  • Yes Falcons are used as Taxi's... and correct me if I'm wrong but Taxi's are driven and driven and driven non stop... Falcon's are used as Taxi's because they last longer, they go tougher and they have a more advanced engine then what both the Commodore and the Aurion. But they're still the same price if not cheaper...

    Oh not to mention the ZF 6spd Semi - Auto gear box... to of which you cannot feel gear changes... unlike Holden transmissions which make you headbutt the dashboard...

  • the way i launch mine and the way they do it in all the mags,

    if using a satallite based box you must also use handbrake to stop it creeping.

    with foot on brake apply throttle to 2750RPM once ready release handbrake at the same time you must slowly remove foot of brake whilst apply heavier pressure on throttle. a few try's and you'll get the mix right. don't come of the brake and mash throttle big smoke time if you do. Mind you pretty fun.

    FG F6 Auto 0-100=5.087 0-400=13.14

    For around $22,000 you can get a '07 BF XR6T with low K's, it has 245Kw stock (which is plenty),

    If you want more, spend around $5,000 at CAPA, and you got over 350KW !

    It would take a lot more $ to get that out of a V8 !

  • Yeah. She's auto. And no, it was left in full auto mode with traction control on. Traction is a major issue in this thing!!!

  • Yeh. I've been trying different ways. Stalling it a little with traction on and P.Mode seems like a winner so far. Will be taking it to tooradin airfield this week to test her out properly.
