I am blessed to have met Fr HoLung when he was visiting Southern California. He is a Holy man. Serving the poor the way he does along with the brothers of his Mission is an eye opener and a true example of bumility and service. There is so much waste material things in today society that seeing this video should help us think twice about the real purpose of power and material wealth. God Bless Fr. HoLung and the brothers of the Mission. I hope to spend a few days helping out in the near future.
May God continue to bless you and your mission. More than thirty years ago at Aquina Center you brought your thoughts to the church, and you brought a new life with music into the church. It has been a long journey, but we are proud of you.
You attempted to address poverty long before it became the global agenda. You are truly blessed.
Dear JakobIsrael, brother in Christ, Our Lord always gives us the grace we need to conform our lives to His holy will for us. We must discern how and to what and where it is that Christ is calling us, and we must *choose* to correspond with His grace -- in doing so we will face the Cross, and will often find it difficult to die to self and selfishness.
Perhaps it is Our Lord's will that you should complete your degree and then enter religious life with the MOP. Or perhaps He is calling you and your friend even now to leave all behind and to begin a life in service to the poorest of the poor, in embrace of the evangelical counsels.
The first step is to make a short visit to the M.O.P. headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica (for several days, maybe even two weeks, as your schedule permits) where you will live, work, and pray as a visitor among the Brothers and the poor whom God has entrusted to their care. The MOP life is physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding -- it is one of the strictest religious orders in the world -- yet is filled joy and light; the MOP motto is "Joyful Service with Christ on the Cross."
Please direct any vocations inquiries to the phone number and/or e-mail address for the main office in Kingston, given on the "Contact MOP" page on their website. Their web address is given in this video's description in the box just to the right of the video-display widget (click "more").
Today... "All Saints Day" I offer this prayer up for all Missionaries throughout the World .. For those who suffer and those who cry this night, give them repose, Lord; a pause in their burdens. Let there be minutes where they experience peace, not of man but of angels. Love them, Lord, when others cannot. Hold them, Lord, when we fail with human arms. Hear their prayers and give them the ability to hear You back in whatever language they best understand. Amen
Two years ago I was blessed by Fr. Richard Ho Lung...having attended a conferance where he was a guest speaker. The sense of the full presence of The Holy Spirit surrounding this man was truely awesome...

I can not believe in a god. But anybody who selflessly takes care of mankind, is to be profoundly admired. Peace !!
