Nikon is no good when it comes to legacy glass. Most adapters needed to put old Zeiss or Leica glass on their need an extra optical element to enable infinity. These are usually pretty bad quality and destroy the true character of the lens.

@Dange3DStudios If it was up to me, no. The cameras, even though the D7000 replaces the D90, are on the same level. The D7000 is more of a serious camera, but if I could recommend something, I'd tell you to keep the D90 and buy a cheaper DSLR with good video capabilities (possibly the D5100). Then you'd have a main camera and a video/backup camera. You could then replace the D90 for a full-frame. If you don't think you need the two cameras, get the D7000 as it has almost everything you need. :)

I've shot with both Nikon and Canon, and I prefer Canon hands down. I shoot with a Canon PowerShot A590 IS and a Nikon D3000. My next camera is gonna be the 7D. I played with one at a photography workshop and just couldn't put the darned thing down. Plus, Canons fit better in my hands-esp. with the battery grip. I also like Canon because they're easier to understand. I can see it already, my fellow Nikonians are callin' me a sellout while the Canonites embrace me. It'a all good, tho.

@JVLIVSPhoto I've just made the switch from a D90, after it was stolen. I've now got a Canon 7D. It takes really nice video, and I'm very impressed with its image quality. I went with Canon because of the improved video quality (being able to shoot 60fps), however I still do wish I had a Nikon in my hands in terms of button/wheel placement, and performing some functions quickly (deleting a photo straight after the exposure). They're both great makes though, and it's hard to separate them!

@JVLIVSPhoto Lol, Started liking taking pictures when I got at a hand on a Canon PowerShot A590 IS ! :) I'm using a Nikon DSLR now, but I will most probably switch to a Canon when I upgrade. Canon layout of functions seems to be more logical(in my opinion)...even with simple details such as the well placed and distinguishable zoom in/out buttons of Canon(for reviewing photos) as opposed to the ones in Nikon, which blends in amongst other buttons in a row.

The bottom line is IMAGE QUALITY! All of the bells & whistles doesn't matter. Cannons are easier to use and it's movie mode a bit better than the Nikon's. Although when it comes to raw quality of the final product (the picture), the Nikon wins. That is what my clients pay for, they don't care about how functional my camera is, they just want QUALITY PIX!

No client ever does right... the crop high ISO comparison is just for the Nikon fan boys to make them feel a bit better with themselves. If she turns around, the thing which the camera is tracking is gone. So HOW is it supposed to track it?!

Someone might argue that the camera is supposed to find the new point on it's own but this is impossible if the object is changing that quickly and the shutter speed is too low.

Hey! I'm considering between these 2 cameras, I use a camera 50% for photos and 50% for videos. For videos 7D is better of course (better frame rates - for me it's very important), but I think that for photos Nikon is a bit better. I can't make a decision. ;/ Help!

Put Nikons 70-200mm on that d700 and pop Canons 70-200 IS II on the 7d...Then do a side by side....The Canon will take a crap on the Nikon.
