Please excuse my opinion, but I think the Imperial Household already has enough bad history with Prince Chichibu and Eperor Showa. We do not need to add the crimes of Masako's family. I prefer a child of Princess Kiko. She has good character.
If imperial princess is "like a bird in a cage," then what about Princess Kiko and Empress Michiko? Why don't they complain?
Masako was supposed to be a diplomat, right? Of course, she only translated. But let's pretend she was a diplomat. Then she must know the duties of the Imperial Household. So why did she accept those duties by marrying the Crown Prince? If she wants total freedom, she should not marry anyone, especially not the Crown Prince. It is common sense.
@shintaroDaKiIIa I'm almost positive she didn't really have a choice in the matter. Once the proposal was laid out it was a given that the marriage would take place whether she wanted it to or not. Can you imagine being branded "the woman that turned down the Crown Prince"? Especially in this country. I feel sorry for her. When they announced that marriage I knew then and there that her life would be ruined. Diana's death surely didn't help her at all. I think Diana was her one ray of hope.
Masako is a horrible person. She wasn't a career woman. Her rich father bought her a diplomatic post. Do you know about Minamata Disease? It's mercury poisoning, that caused many Japanese extremely painful deaths owing to the greed of her grand father--CEO of Chisso Corporation. Masako is a mental case. She should be divorced.

I respect and admire our royal family but at the same time I don't mind seeing Princess Aiko receive throne.
Princess Masako doesn't have freedom and she is just like a bird in cage.
How depressive her life is.
Hope she recovers soon.

She gave into the pressure, threat and harassment by Japanese people and the pressure from imperial family.

We don't want that Masako will be empress in near future.
Masako, You never realize noblesse oblige.

I loved Masako because I believed she was strong, industrious, and elegant. I now hate her because I know she is too weak, lazy, and shameless.

But I still respect Empress Michiko and Princess Kiko. They show graciousness and many other positive attributes.

This is so wrong. She was destroyed by the Royal Family. Don't hate her, hate them for doing it to her.

I wonder what goes through her mind every day. I do feel for her.

I can think of many lonely, starving children in Iraq you might better feel about.
shintaroDaKiIIa 3 years ago
Well I agree with you..what she doesnt need is people cursing her, even if it's just to show off on internet.

How would you know whether Masako is "trying her best"? Her best must be pretty bad.
This woman is selfish. She is a spoiled rich girl, living on blood money from her rich exploiting family.
Why do you care about someone who eats caviar every day, but you forget the ordinary people who died in agony from Minamata Disease?

she's a strong woman ok
how come you judge as such

Why do you think she is strong? Just because she is unstable mentally?
