  • My question is where does he plan on putting this multitude of extra people and pets. I wish to correct some information. The rhesus monkey may be a close relative to some individuals. I have certainly seen some people act like monkeys, however O negative blood has no compatibility with other blood factors therefore saying that "We" anything is ignorant. Genetics is like a slot machine.....endless possibilities and individual talents or traits, and there is no "We".

  • birth of zombies

  • about time, jesus you had your chance to cure death but failed goddam jew

  • this is unessasary i see why somone would want to do it but this guy just wants to do this for fame not for anyother reason but fame

  • Has this man succeeded yet? Did he create a clone?

  • lol i dont think it will be nice, when you wake up in the middle of the night and your clone is staring at you !! just saying it's freaky.

  • @2007words

cloning of human beings, however if you would watch the whole show before you judge, and take a minute to step into their shoes as I did, I'm sure you would at least some what see their way of thinking.

  • @2007words

Yeah your little speech was cute and all, but the couple DID say they were infertile. The wife had cancer a few years previous and it has left her with the inability to bear children. It also said that they DID try to adopt. They were all ready with the papers and everything, which, trust me, is a long and grueling process, when for whatever reason, they were denied their child. The cloning thing is one of the only chances for a child they have left. I'm not saying I condone the clo

  • i was looking for a cloned human...... :-/

  • Will to be fun to get your own slave.

  • very interesting. I'll have to see what else BBC Horizon has on display :)

  • People this isnt the complaining box. No one cares

  • does noone else realize where its going? Your pet dies? Just clone it to have it back. Whats the point of the individual pet then? Same logic applies to humans. Life will lose its importance if anyone can be cloned.

  • Oh shut the fuck up.. Just buy video games! Video Games are better than babies

  • I WONDER IF ANYONE FROM HKIS WILL SEE THIS

  • why can't this couple adopt a baby? or have a surrogat?

they didn't mention any of that. i guess if they at least mentioned that they tried to adopt or something i would understand it more. is it that awful having a child who doesn't look like you? i'm adopted and i don't think its that bad. although my mom is white and i'm dark and i don't look like her physically, but i am more like her than anyother person i know. people think i'm my mother on the phone. my mom is the best person i know <3

  • Can't they save embryonic stem cells from already born babies. Then later on in life if the parents want to a new baby can be cloned from those stem cells. And remember in the US embryonic a defined as life, therefore anyone who attempts it will suffer repercussions from no law.

  • shit man 1:28 scared me

  • @poseidon51295 actually the population is not overgrowing it will reach maybe 9billion in 2030 but will cool down go youtube and search colinpri1 and look at the animated videos its from population control organisation

  • Of course at 1:57 the black baby has huge balls. jk

  • @ExtraWideSeal I was gonna say te same thing

  • Even if you look alike it doesn't mean the clone will be the same person. Variation is what keeps the earth alive. Cloning should never be allowed

  • lets make sheep human babbys

  • STARTWARS THE WAR OF THE CLONES HAVE BEEN BEGON.

  • Medicine is a business. Never forget that.

  • I'm worried about the life a clone would have, besides the health risks think of how people (naturally born) would treat them. I mean the person below me just mentioned "human soul" would clones be considered soulless? I disagree with that entirely, but imagine being told you don't have a soul. : (

  • @mysticflame16 Only gingers have no soul

  • bet you can clone human but you can't clone human soul lol

  • I think if someone needs a liver or a heart, anything like that and they could clone those orgins sucsesfully then I think that would be a great hope for many people but as for cloning a human it just does not sit well with me. I hate to say it but that doctor who wants to do it is playing on couples who want a baby and he knows they desperate and its his one way ticket into history books I wont trust a clone human being Im not even religious but to me it would be like the birth of an antichrist

  • What if they stripped the eggs nucules and implanted the dna from a male sperm. It seems all that you would skip is the sperm penetrating the egg and the combining of two dna's?

  • Query: Should cloned humans have the same rights as the rest of us??? (Something not created naturally from God)

  • @Myfaceagain the anti-cloners would be handless and the pro-cloners could smack them for being stupid.

  • what if you clone you then go to war and get hand blown off and you need your clone hand

  • @Myfaceagain have you seen the movie The Island? it is about rich people getting cloned so they can get a transplant or whatever they need from their cloned selves... u should see it if you haven't

  • @Hant420 thanks bro i just downloaded that movie

  • @Myfaceagain no prob

  • I wonder why they used the musical score by Bernard Hermann from Hitchcocks's PSYCHO.

  • Thank you for uploading this. This is very interesting and leaves me wondering about future possibilities.

  • So these clones have to be born and then grow. There's no way that they can be anything other than a genetically identical clone (if that) -- they won't have any of the memories or experiences of the human from which they were cloned. That man earlier in the episode who talked about wanting his mother cloned... his mother would be a baby! She would have no experience of being his mother, it just wouldn't be the same. Cloning doesn't offer replacement, it offers superficial mirroring.

  • sick of hearing ppl use the word "play god!" so if someone juz gave birth , u will be like " omfg, she juz play god" in simplest term, scientist figure out to make babies by cloning using cells, thatz it. juz because itz no longer sperm and egg doesn't mean they play god!

  • CANNOT ALLOW DOCTORS TO PLAY GOD! IF I WOULD BE A GOVERNMENT I WOULD ANNOUCE DEATH SENTENCE FOR EVERY WHO WOULD TRY TO CLONE! I WOULD CATCH ALL FUNDS OF A COMPANY WHO WOULD TRY THIS AND MAKE THEIR COMPLETE MONEY TO MONEY OF THE STATE! THIS DOCTORS ARE A SHAME FOR HUMANS! ITS NOT THE RIGHT FOR HUMANS TO PLAY GOD! HUMANS ARE NOT A GOOD WE MORE THAN APPLES AND GRAS!! AS SAME AS THE ATOMIC BOMB NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN INVENTED (SAME ON THE SIENCE WHO DID THIS)! MORAL DUTY STAND OVER GREED OF SIENCE!

  • @ramboisan4lek caps and riddled with spelling errors, read what you wrote before you post. If you would introduce a death penalty to ANYONE you should never be given any position of power whatsoever. You are against the atomic bomb and cloning but you're fine with killing people for making scientific discoveries and making a living? oh and it's spelt SCIENCE.

  • @ramboisan4lek Go back to the Dark Ages.

  • Any person who claims to work for science but yet in the same breath stands in the way of it IS NOT A SCIENTIST!

  • 1:57 Great balls o'fire! xD

  • I just hope it works, or one day does.

  • @PowrOverwhelming You obviously dont understand the catastrophic damage in which clonning could cause to the human race, and the clones. The amount of failers is overwealming compared to the succses. Look around, observe, were already running out of space and resourses and your talking about multiplying are species that would take more space of our earth. First we need to find the basic necessities to suport the population we have now, then we will worry about messed up clones further on.

  • Has any1 thought that they are wasting thier time creating empty shells of ppl? Scientists shoul be focusing on more important matters, like nanotechnology and solutions to pollution.

  • I like the guy with the moustache :)

  • @mthrnaturesson

They will eventualy no doubt have a normal healthy clone. but not without a price, to all the clones children born before this prodegy. becuase with coning, the problems won't be apparent untill later on in life. it could be deemed as safe, and everyone will be doing it, becuase it'll be cheap of course. and then when the clone is 20 they will suddenly become deformed, or their heart stops working. it's not like in the movies where they are physcotic.

  • @mthrnaturesson

yes I see what you mean. But they should be straight with the people they are working with at least. or clone them selves. pay for their own mistakes. when they cloned Dolly, she died young becuase of severe problems with her genes. The risks are far greater with cloning. and even I know that. as far as I know. no human has been successfuly cloned. I'm sure they will get there though. and when they do, that child will have severe genetic problems.

  • think of that, one day, maybe 200 hundred years from now if we are not all dead, they could be making humans from scratch.

they believe that we occured naturualy from nature. and developed over millions of years. what if humans unlocked the recipe to making humans. without using gentitic material that was already there.

all you'd need is to create an embrio, and create a machine that acted as a womb. and you've made a life. the experiments would be in humane, but it won't stop them

  • They can actualy create DNA now, and make life, without using orinal DNA at all.

They have been minupulating DNA for years now, but now they can actualy recreate it. create life. programed to behave in a certain way.

they can only make simple forms of bacteria and fungi though. they are far off making anything interesting like even an insect.

they could make a deadly virus though, I bet. or a bacteria that could cure certain diseases.

  • But they can't clone even animals without a short lifespan, becuase of the DNA is corrupted. they worked that out. Those scientists are liars. They want to create a kid who will have diseases of old age by the time it's 20.

Sure the baby will look fine and develop normaly, but will have terrible physical problems later on, depending on the age of the cell it was cloned from.

  • I really don't see how cloning actually has some highly desirable world-changing incentive. Okay, so perhaps if we perfect cloning, we can basically create an artificial twin. Other than novelty, how is that twin any better with cloned DNA than with DNA it naturally obtained? I don't think there's enough variation in DNA for one person's DNA to be that much better than another person's DNA. It's not really worth all the effort and the former hype. It's not like they're genetically modified.

  • @ilovehd831

Making a second human really is stupid. If you are infertile, I suggest asking a family member or friend for a donation. But, the benefit in cloning is not making a "being" but creating organs to benefit patients.

The irony is people banning this science are not in the need of it. I dare anyone with organ failure to feel confident in their beliefs. When it's time for a mother to say goodbye to her young children, well, I hope God comforts you.

  • @MalchikBlue Well, if the choice was practical (it isn't unfortunately) they should be allowed the option. And, if it turned out that every cloned baby was just as healthy as any other baby, I'm sure cloning for infertile parents would be legal today. But, the reality is that there are problems, which could be worked through, but aren't nearly worth the price of all the mistakes required.

  • @MalchikBlue

I'm all in favour of the cloning of organs, just not the cloning of a full human. it's just not right.

  • Comment removed

  • so they destroy the genitic material within an egg, and inject it with a cell, from another human. it then grows into an embrio. and is carried by a female.

why bother when we have enough people as it is. they are taking advantage of people who can't have kids, in the worst possible way.

  • Quit fucking with animals!

    grrrr!!!

  • ok, how would they expect a cloning to be in the same condition as the original (the cell donor) when they are doing so many unnatural things which might contain a very high pigpercentage of why they are still failing. Like for example "electryfing the bound" and "taking out the "chromosomes". Nonsence

  • If the parent wants to clone one of his own cells, why is that anybody else's business? It's his child. Hell, it's even his own cell. That's nobody's business but his. If I want to make a mini-me I'll be damned if some uppity brit in a lecture hall is going to tell me no.

  • @WhiteShark392

cloning corrupts the DNA. effects life span. telomeres are shortened. if someone clones themsleves at age 30 or forty, the cell they have used, will be corrupted. the child will have genetic problems, and die young.

they should only be even thinking about cloning young toddlers at this point. maybe even babies untill they can sort out that problem.

a cloned child of an adult will be gentically the same age as the adult they were cloned from.

  • Hey where do i apply to clone myself? Id like to make out with myself that'd be so sexy mmm lol

  • @adicts89 actually haven't you thought about it if you clone your self and have sex whit your clone are you masturbating or having sex with your self?.... Xd

  • @butterfaceG

you'd be having sex with your twin. that's what clones are, a genetic twin.

  • If you made a herd of cloned animals. If anything like a genetic disorder cropped up you would lose the whole herd. If we depended too much on it then we'd risk severly decreasing the diversities in the genepools. This in nature leads to imbreading and weakness . ultimately the species would be doomed and it would be a matter of time before the animals go extinct because it genes no longer do what they are supposed to do or they cannot adapt to new environments or infection immunity.

  • cloning is evil because it doesn't follow the cosmic evolution and doesn't consider the unknown factors of life all that besides psychological issues make any sort of disbalance probable

  • instead of replacing the egg's chromosome, replace the sperm's chromosome and let the fertilization be as natural one.

  • @amit1sapre

they can't do that, becuase it would just die. it has to enter the egg, and if it was injected it would not be able to. i don't see it happening myself. the egg seems to be stronger.

  • Weird Al predicted this.

  • clearly this guy is out for the cash, like ofcourse there will be complications, fuck even nature has complications, but usually couples dont have 1000 miscarriages, usually when a women gets pregnant she will give birth to a healthy baby, but the fact that most of these animal babies died before birth should be very alarming, this guy is clearly just a mad scientist that has no consideration 4 human life

  • This man playing game with God's natural creation is indeed crazy period. If God didn't give this man life, he wouldn't be standing here to state anything. Cloning shouldn't be practiced. No one cares nor do they desire to care about the end result. Those couples that desire this is also insane. God alone gives life and takes life. If God wanted her to have a child, he would open her womb, since not he alone closed her womb so she can't bear one. This is said video...

  • He says there will be no consequences. That is the most stupidest comment ever about the subject. There will be consequences Look at the previous videos about the deformed about the animals. Also there are about the be androids also.type on the youtube search bar``Android video and R1 Repliee.

  • 1:27-1:47

Seriously, what's with the Psycho music? Was it put in here to add dramatic effects or something? Again, not that I have a problem with that but still.

  • @12345ISIS12345

    .

the quotation are in full support of 'cloning/gmo' according to the Hebrew bible ~ one just have to read between the lines ~

    .

the Hebrew scriptures is an atheistic account of the 'origin of life' on Earth, including 'man' in their 'image'. /\ tradition traced back to Mesopotamia in the story of the /\nnunaki/Elohim ~

    .

it is historical and can only be understood thanks to 'science' ie. knowledge intelligence consciousness awareness practicality and genius ! ;)

  • A very good documentary, very insightful and it seems that we still have a very long way to go still before we can really make the first attempt at cloning a human being. I respect the doctors ambition, but it is still very obvious that more research is needed before taking unnecessary risks.

Think of the implications though, this can open an entire new world of science and the understanding of ourselves as a species. =)

  • "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness" Genesis 1: 26.

"Behold, the man is become as one of us" Genesis 3: 22.

"[...] the sons of Elohim saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." Genesis 6: 1-2.

"When the sons of Elohim came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." Genesis 6: 4.

  • @aynradd Why have you used the book of genesis to argue against cloning, cloning is a biologiacal topic not a religious one.

  • I'm pretty neutral about the debate o.o

Personally, I don't mind cloning, but with the technology we have at the moment, I don't think it's possible. Maybe in the future. The doctor is too optimistic, I feel.

All we know is that the more technology interfears with humans and mother nature, the weaker we become.

  • @RurouniTactic Whoops I meant the scientiest who says stuff like there will be no consequences.

  • @RurouniTactic I agree, I'm neutral aswell, I don't have a problem with cloning as long as it is done right, I don't agree that we should do cloning at this stage in technoligy but what I do think is that I won't have a problem with it in the futer (as long as it is done right) but I won't perticually like it either.

  • A truly disturbing picture of the future another nwo agenda clearly to curupt the natural human creation of life, as the film clearly points out it is never intended to mix a random cell with a egg cell its total corruption on a grand scale this is proven with the problems in cloned animals endless abnormalities. The prospect of cloning a human is creating the unknown which would have so many implications I just pray human cloning will never take place but they want to create evolution, sad.

  • Alien Resurrection worth watching the lab scene, and watch Boys from Brazil.

  • "Playing god" doesn't mean anything. If you invoke it, you lose the argument by default.

  • did anyone else find that monkey kinda disturbing?

  • man abbies already have a lot of problems normal birth

u wanna clone em, come on man, clonin a baby is as meaningfull as clonin a soda can

  • "there not gonna be any consequences" - zavos . When any scientist says this with a smile beware of wolfs in sheeps clothing. This is not science this is mad scientist . Hes gonna be in alot of trouble after the failures . But nobody cares about that now because hes not caught yet . but they will.

  • @yourboycal Totally right. So many, horrible problems but Im just way to excited to see it happend. Wait, I cant even hold in the excitment a.. a.... WEEE!!!!!

  • @yourboycal But what about the ideas of the future ? I mean I don't just mean the modern ideas of human cloning but what about the ideas of supersolciers or stem cell research or even the idea of advancing ourselves in space, those are all dangerous and some would agree that they are not necessary either but that doesnt mean we shouldnt try it ? I'm no sure about human cloning I think I can agree with most people here, but as long as we continue to think of ourselves as the created and not the

  • @yourboycal creators, we'll always be holding ourselves back . I just mean what if we solve the problems of society . Say if we ended poverty or say that we solved most other things in the world today, what else would there be for us to learn in the ways of technology ? How far can we go ? And if so, if its not far, then what would be the point of having science unless we break those boundaries . For cloning I think I can agree that its dangerous but I just mean with every thing else too ?

  • @scottweise18 ". For cloning I think I can agree that its dangerous but I just mean with every thing else too ?"

Then why go in with .. """there not gonna be any consequences" - zavos" ?????

do you understand there will be consequences , and its not a very wise idea to go in with false claims like this ? Its a outright lie.... blatant . in your face lie .. Thats my problem . do you get it now ?

  • @yourboycal Should we have not gone to the moon or sent rovers to mars because some would agree that its dangerous or because its not necessary ? Some might agree with that, but does that mean that we should also brand space travel immoral as well ? Because of the risks to astronauts in a new frontier ?

  • @scottweise18 did you even read my comment and try and understand it before your pointless rant?

""there not gonna be any consequences" - zavos "

This is a very dangerous statement . That was the point of my comment . Why did you miss the trian? Everyone knew how dangerous going to the moon was you tool

  • I say this guy "Zavos" is a "Mad-Scientist". He sees an opportunity to make money and for his name to go down in history but he's playing God and that' what the whole debate is about. He truly believes he's helping other's by his research. I say he's not.

  • 'Walk in our shoes, I guarantee you will have a different judgment'

Bullshit. I know people who have adopted, there are millions of other couples out there who have done the same. I will never sympathize for this couple nor others who opt for Cloning.

Adopt god damn it, here are plenty children out there who need parents.

  • This was an interesting documentary, thanks for this.

  • I think we can perfet that 3 or 4% of abnormal people being born when we perfect cloning. We can eventually figure out all aspects of why things go wrong and then we can fix the process.

Drive forward with science in all ways. Clones are a good idea in my book, but I think it should be perfected over the next few hundred years on animals to be sure the process does not create defects.

  • I would definitely clone myself. I'm such an idiot sometimes I'd love to kick my own ass!

  • i love the fact that the doccumentary was kind of biased.. .. although i totally agree with not cloning b/c the world is too unpredictible and you never know what might happen, his efforts could jsut go to waste ...

  • I agree with henrybleish wholeheartedly :) and fuerzazolar, think before you talk "Cloning will never be safe nature does everything perfectly and cannot be copied. "

You clearly missed the part where they talked about how sometimes things go wrong naturally. nature is most likely what made you infertil.

  • @BleedingSoul1029 two things. the rate at which things go wrong with cloning is higher than with nature. and two. if we screw up making a human, it is someones fault that human must suffer.

if we had a human with its insides on the outside, someone is going to be responsible for its pain.

  • give me back my hour of life

  • People will want to try cloning until they feel its unnecessary people are very suborn and will try. I think that it would take a very good computer and a lot of time to even get lucky at making somthing remotely human based off the evidence quickly presented in this video. I think yes maybe in time it would be perfected. I would agree that the world doesnt need cloning but also doesnt need humans either because we have done nothing to really prove we are not worthy of reproducing in such a way.

  • The lady at the end said don't judge me unless you have walked in our shoes well surprise I'm infertil too. Cloning is wrong we should make new medicines try to find ways of fixing the problems we have now instead of creating new ones. Cloning will never be safe nature does everything perfectly and cannot be copied.

  • Don't be so arrogant to suppose that you know for sure what science can do in the future. NST was presumed impossible until Dr. Wilmut made Dolly. Cloning may currently be unsafe, but if it is refinded and made as safe as say IVF in the future, then what is the problem? Also there is a difference between Theraputic cloning and Reproductive cloning. Do some reasearch before you condemn things so.

  • @Godonstilts,so if they do find a way to perfect cloning, you'd just shrug off all the botched experiments/failed human clones that had to suffer? And for what? For yuppies with too much time and money on their hands?

  • Whether or not we agree with it (I don't really like it), it is going to happen. Perhaps it's already happened someplace on the planet, the public just dosen't know about it.

  • genious scientist pro cloning human

  • i think that cloning is wrong.. Say if some one was cloned.. they wouldn't be human.. they would be an abomination, a beast that wasn't born naturally..

  • I too don't like the idea of having another me running around this world doing what ever she wishes to do, but i wouldn't call her a beast or an abomination because it wasn't her choice to be cloned. But she definitely will not be me because there is a strong possibility that she will have a mind of her own, she'll do things her way and not mine, heck she might even commit a crime and like it and that is scary to me.

  • My gradma passed away last year and we have a lock of her hair in a protective casing, if i go and clone her her physical appearance will be identical but it will be empty. the grandmother that i new will not exist in her. and that will be hard to take in.

  • Any startrek fans here will remember a scene from Nemesis when captain picard and his clone meet in his ready-room and the clone is angry and says something about being a shadow an echo.

The idea of not being unique is frighting, not being one of a kind is not something i can handle. the world isn't big enough for two cosmiccocoons :P hehe

  • I believe cloning could eventually be a great medical breakthrough. And I don't mean cloning a whole human, they could possibly apply it to growing spare parts for individuals.

  • First, it is extremely irresponsible to jump into any sort of experimentation in human cloning when we haven't even mapped the human proteome. I will say, however, that we are not far from possessing the knowledge necessary to make cloning a SAFE reality for people. I still say there is more progress to be found in recombinant DNA modification. Designer children, now that's where it's at!

  • I believe it is only a matter of time, as less and less problems accur and eventually 1 successfully clone will change everything.

  • for those who support a ban on cloning because it's unnecessary and unneeded, why don't you go to the jungle and live life like a cave man. After all, everything other food and shelter is unnecessary and unneeded.

  • It's really not a controversial issue. Cloning is unnecessary and unneeded.

  • @moidixmois1

Controversy - A debate or discussion of opposing opinions.

There is clearly different opinions here, 'don't let them ban you' and 'it's unnecessary and unneeded'.

  • I know that. What I mean is that the controversy is unnecessary. There is just no pint is doing this. We don't need cloning.

  • Comment removed

  • @moidixmois1 Walking on the moon is unneacessary and unneeded. Unlocking the next step of evolution on the other hand is much needed. Just because you cant see in the dark does not mean you have to fear what is there.

  • Why not make super people like the Nazis wanted?

  • bravo panayiotis zavos! never let them ban you

  • Thanks for you opinion, i think it's a very controversial subject!

  • @CooCurrent could they instead clone the egg from her dna and then fertilize it with his sperm? or they remove the dna from a donor egg and then put hers in and then fertilize with his sperm eliminating the problems they said were caused by activation with that electric shock thing? for those of you that say this is "un natural" we are a part of nature and everything we have done is a part of nature, by the same logic taking life saving medication or even shaving facial hair could be unnatural

  • @Fiorentina222 no its more that she has no eggs. she wants them to take a cell of hers, taking the cytoplasm of an egg and add a sperm and then zapp it/add chemical factors to grow it. its not only pointless but also unethical, unwarranted and unsafe. there are sound reasons why we shouldnt clone humans. dolly herslef died very young 4 sheep whilst showing symptoms of lameness and genetic disease. the couple just cant accept it. they should just use a surrogate and raise the child as theirs
