@itsJoanfuckingJett Thanks for watching my video in order to learn how to play it without tabs. I'm not a fan of tabs, to be honest. But they do work for some though. I'm more about feeling the song and just playing "in the moment", but that's me. It's difficult to find tabs or music for songs most of the time so I've learned to play w/out it. Anyway I can help others learn, then I've done my job as a teacher. Thank you for the compliment. :)

@Drummergirl652 Definitely. Any song would've been great. I don't have a drum set, but I tried using freestyle mode on my Rock Band drums to learn some runaways songs...I have a new found respect for drummers haha :)

I'm not sure of the number kit I used but I know it was one of the Rock kits somewhere in the 20's-30's range on the module. I think it's called Rock Band but I'm not sure. I switch kits alot when playing songs so I think I went with the Rock kit that had an audience in it. I'm not at my kit right now otherwise I'd find out for sure.

Hi - nice observation. Ya know, I play songs differently every time so I had to replay this a few times to the point you mention the extra beat. I did add an extra beat. Instead of keeping with the 2-4 beats on the snare, I decided to add an eigth note instead of a quarter note (i.e. 4 is played on the floor tom & the "&" is played on the sky tom. So, the beat at that point is actually 4& instead of just 4. I like when people point subtle things out like that. Thanks! :)

Ok, I just checked out that vid & a couple others of theirs. Man, after seeing Sandy jam on the California Paradise vid, I really like this chick's style! She reminds me of Peter Cris (Kiss) the way she has her cymbals high & her crashing technique. Peter Cris is THE reason I became a drummer so to see her mimick his style is just pure awesomeness. Thank you again for introducing me to this band. Really can't wait to see the movie. I wondered why Kristen Stewart chopped her hair, now I know.

Wow, and you're a Peter Cris/Kiss fan too? Amazing, lol. And he's definitely one of the greats. No doubt. And glad you were able to get some enjoyment out of it too, lol. I can't wait to see the movie either. And I've only known about it for a couple weeks now myself, and seems they already changed who is playing Lita, which is Scout Taylor-Compton now. I checked out Stella Maeve on IMDB and with the longish dirty blond hair, she does look passable for Sandy. So that should be good!

The Runaways?!? Don't hear them much anymore. I actually saw them in concert when I was 15. They were playing at a local small music theater along with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Cheap Trick.

Thanks RBM. I never really heard their music till 2 days ago. To be honest, I did these songs mainly because of their drummer. I love her style. I'm working a couple more vids and can't wait to record them soon.

As far as not hearing them much anymore, that's going to change in the next year or so. There's a motion picture being made of them which is going to star Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, Alessandra Torresani as Lita Ford and Stella Maeve as Sandy West. No word on who is playing the bass, or which bass player as they had 3.

Personally, they should have gotten Drummergirl652 to play the role of Sandy! She looks pretty similar to her!

Aww, thank you but I really wanted this video to be just about the music. That's why I chose a distorted video effect because it draws the attention to the music instead of the visuals.
