Nobody really know the truth of Khmer Boran Apsara. The apsara that our khmer dance today was recreated in 1950's or 60's by our queen named Kossamak Nearyroth. She just went to Angkor Wat, and created the Apsara dance and music. That why her granddaughter, Bopha Devi, very famous for. After all, khmer still love to dance apsara anyway.

@tig3rkrus Every Khmer still try to keep their traditional ways, but i dont think Khmer that living outside of Cambodia can keep it longer than Khmer in Cambodia. Khmer in Cambodia have to learn Khmer script, speak khmer and of course Khmer history, everything is still Khmer. Well, outside Khmer have to learn foreign languages and influence by that nation.

@tig3rkrus And i do know about khmer history that why i said no one really know the truth about the dance. If Khmer Surin knows about the dance, they won't dance on the street. Apsara Dance only performs for God King not for normal people. And they have to sing in Sanskrit or Pali languages, because those are God King Languages. And they have to perform during big ceremony (calling for god) in from of the King. If you want to know about Khmer history i can teach you well.

And yes im from Phnom Penh and i dont got those info from the internet, learn in khmer school. For one more thing, If Khmer Surins know more about Angkorian History, they wont dance on the street. Aspara dance is not for entertainment. Wake up people.
