  • What I see is pandemonium. The police tried to control the crowd the only way they knew how. To know what was going on inside was impossible and to claim they held back the crowd because they had some agenda is just ridiculous.

There wasnt a fire, there wasnt a structual failure and there wasnt a gun fight. Its sad but the panic by the patrons was to blame along with the owners code violations.

I hate to say this but if the owners were white...... the police wouldnt even be an issue.

  • Why is it so hard to find videos about the E2 stampede on youtube? I only see 2 videos and there is only a very small amount of the actual security cam footage shown. Where is the rest of the footage?

  • one word: BLACK !! (that is all....)

  • I am sad because people were hurt and died that night my friends were on those stairs trap and they said they felt people under there feet dying horrific! Satan is real yall! I am grateful to God that I listen to the holy spirit! Because if I had'nt that could of been me and my unborn child at the time who is now 8 years old! But I prayed for the victims family and friends this really broke my heart!

  • I remember this night I was suppose to be there! My friends had left me that night to go because I was taking to long to to decide if I was going that night. I had went the week before and I had a bad feeling about that place so that is why I was undecided if I was going to go back. God is good the holy spirit was letting me know that something bad was going to happen! And I am glad that my friends did leave me because I was 7 months pregnant and that could of been me trap on those stairs.

  • This story still brings me to tears!! The morning of this horrible tragedy I drove by the club and you could feel death!

  • It's crazy how people don't realize how unsafe a building/place is until a tragedy occurs

  • I heard they was in that hall way standing on top of people...can you imagine that....thats krazy...rip to all 21 an there family...

  • Dreadfull video, starts off with a gramatical mistake and goes downhill from there. How can you be so disrepectfull too the victims that you dont mention the people responsible for this disaster that is the owners who were warned about the health and safety requirements that they failed too fix just so they could make loads of money and the inequipped security staff they hired. I just hope nobody who is new to this case, thinks this video is the whole truth otherwise greedy club owners win.

  • i remember seeing this when i was little. i STILL stay away from overpacked clubs to this day.

  • LOOK' with 1500 people in a night club dancing, the body heat rise sharply and the temp inside the club rise as well. a security guard sprayed mace to break up a fight between two females, the mace engulfed the entire club burning everyone eye's nose's and throats causing them to panic. it's easy to say what you would have done if you were there from your home, but if you cant breath or see and you are chocking and being pushed around and knocked down . panicking becomes a natural reaction.

  • Panicking is when you stop thinking and start reacting without rational thought. So no you don't actively panic, it's when you quit being rational and stop thinking that you are panicking. The reason I say they all panicked is because Ive seen the video taken from the inside as the trigger event happened and everyone rushed for the one door, you can't tell me the first 30 people who rushed for the door were not panicking but that the next 80 were.

  • "Police stand by & watch the tragedy"? WRONG! Find original news footage, (if it hasn't been confiscated): Police at bottom of stairs were HOLDING BACK the crowd! SERIOUSLY, I wouldn't be surprised if EVERY death&injury in this case would've been avoided if police had LET THESE PEOPLE OUT! WHAT -WERE- THE POLICE DOING? SEARCHING for a fugitive suspected of being in the crowd? NO! : They were SUPPOSED to be there for the welfare of patrons. WHY DID THEY FORCE THE CROWD TO STAY ON THE STAIRS?

  • @lazur1 Yeah the police should have been elsewhere arresting the owners for being greedy and for not closing that place down despite all the warnings. If the owners had been white we'd be blaming them but because they arent we gotta blame the police instead. The ONLY people RESPONSIBLE are the OWNERS.No other people benifitted out of having that place filled up but them, innocent people lost there lives so they could fill there wallets despite being told there club was a health risk.

  • @tankdrives2 No need to pick and choose: The owners were criminally irresponsible. The security crew was amateurish. The city was oblivious. The police made a bad situation worse. I haven't heard -anyone- minimize the owners' blame, (certainly not me, I can assure you: I find them liable for each & every death, to the maximum extent the law allows),outside of perhaps themselves & their lawyers. That doesn't change the mistakes the police made, whether due to poor training or attitude issues.

  • @lazur1 No need to pick and choose you say? this coming from someone who devoted a whole post - the one in which i intially responded to - to blaming the police. I have no love for the police, but i'd rather blame them for the numerous things they are directly responsible for rather then waste time blaming them for everything.Especially when the owners were more too blame.

  • @tank:Video shows people at the bottom of a crowded stairway being held back by police for no reason. Those unseen at the other end of that crowd died. / There's no need for -me- to call attention to the owners' blame: They were charged w/involuntary manslaughter by the time this forum was created, while no charges were brought against police. Subtract any one malfeasance from this situation: Owners, Security, City Hall Bureaucrats, or Police, and no one dies. Thus, blame's equal.

  • @lazur1 There was no fire, no structual failure, no gun fight. The problem was panic and pandemonium. The police tried to control the crowd. If they let them just rush out the door then more would have died. Watch the station night club fire video were more were trampled trying to squeeze out the door. Its a classic case of damned if they do or dont.

On the other hand Monday morning quarterbacking and hindsighting is easy to point fingers. So I understand your pointing and blaming.

  • It's the "I'm gonna get mine" attitude of the hip-hop culture. If it had been the Titanic, it would have been women and children first... first to be pushed and thrown over the rails into the water. The police?... what are they going to do, especially when they have their hands full arresting gangsta wannabes who are only interested in causing more problems

  • @mnpd007 You should go back & check the bios of the victims..These were not bangers. They were honest hard-working people with real jobs & families, who went out on special occasions.

  • Shouldn't that have said WHAT HAPPENED? NOT WHAT HAPPEN

  • this is a ghetto tragedy

  • 2 video and stop for that great tragedy????

  • if you panic like a herd of cows, you're gonna die like a herd of cows.

  • @sikofu2 your name suits you well. Sick person you are. go get a life also. you obviously don't have one.

  • @iamenus hey they got no one to blame for there deaths but themselves. If they hadn't panicked they would be alive. It's not my fault they stampeded.

  • @sikofu2 Not your fault? Did someone blame you? Sounds like you feel guilty about SOMETHING.

  • @sikofu2 Do you think people CHOOSE to panic? All they did was make the wrong CHOICE? Gee, why would they DO that?, when all they had to do was NOT do that? I hope you don't CHOOSE to shit your pants if someone puts a gun to your head & begins to pull the trigger..that would be a poor CHOICE.

  • @lazur1 Yes I think they chose to panic and run for the door. And yes a large number that night made the wrong choice. No one pulled a gun on any of them. And I have been in many situations with bullets flying by my head and had I panicked I wouldn't be here to debate this with someone who has never been in a tough situation in their life.

  • @sikofu2 That simply isn't what panicking is. If you'd really ever been in any such situation you'd know that, ("hmmmm, what should I do?...I think I'll panic".. you're hilarious) & have more sympathy for those who were crushed. Aside from that, what makes you think the people who died are the people who panicked? Those who panicked caused the situation,(well, the police really caused it), but you don't have to panic yourself to get caught in the middle of a crowd that -did-.

  • @iamenus Honestly, it's the truth. In crisis situations like these you need to remain calm instead of panicking. Panicking makes the situation worse because you will not be able to make important decisions as easily, like everybody rushing to the exit at once and causing a crush/stampede. If they stayed calm and followed proper procedure nobody would have died. Everybody could have safely gotten out without injury and at a much faster rate than they would have otherwise if they didn't panic.

  • @sikofu2 You sick ass mofo!!!!! May you have everything you try to advanced in fail you sorry bastard! kbdjb mnbdfiugduicbd fdgvd hb

  • @NakitaWhittaker Failure is not an option I will ever succumb to. You can choose whether to allow a setback be your excuse for failure or you can stand up and make what you can out of your life.

  • wat dis song call

  • glad i dont go to clubs

  • People were trapped on those stairs for hours. At that time they dispatched several police cars and spent more time arresting people then trying to save lives. People called from the stairs saying they were trapped and at that time all they sent out were police cars. Eventually when they realized people were dying on the stairs they sent out more ambulance. if you watch the video it goes by a time. If ambulances would have come earlier more lives would have been saved. Bottom line.

  • I don't see any real lose here...

  • 21 people died that night!

  • @iamenus club trash, no real loss

  • You are an idiot! Why even make a comment if that's how you feel about Gods children. go do something with your life because it's obvious you don't have one if that's the type of comment you make about 21 innocent lives. You are a fucking idiot!

  • @dabearcub You obviously need Jesus in your life.

  • @iamenus Jesus as a holy figure is a complete farce - grew up and stop believing in silly ghost stories.

  • @iamenus Jesus wouldn't approve of that club so I giggle at you for your comment.

  • @dabearcub Please explain what great value YOU are to society, & in what way any of our lives would be any worse if YOU died? So far, all you seem good for is deciding who's trash. We can learn to iive without that skill.

  • im kind of confused, someone explain to me what happened please?!

  • my sister pass in this club in it hurt to c this video

  • @TamlaA20 aw sorry which 1 was your sister my sister knowed a guy name charles l

  • Its a new video out about E2 and it shows some of the deceased ....i really think one they showed was my bff EAZAY ROGERS...she had on same thing she wore.....It seem like yesterday.....I really wish she was here today.....I MISS HER SO MUCH-Rest In Peace ET-Love Always,Stacey E.

  • r.i.p charita my sister grew up with her i knew her 2 man we had some good times dough i love you

  • Several things are common when you get a massive crowd of young black people together... 1) they run TO trouble rather than away from it, 2) it's every man/woman for him/herself when the shit hits, 3) someone else is always the blame for what happens, and 4) police, fire and ambulance crews are never helped, but always hindered. The cops end up having arresting so many people that they can't help the injured.

    What have I missed?

  • No disrespect to you but these people are dead and have family reading this so have some respect. Why are you even worried about it if u want to leave an ignorant comment. Idiot

  • No disrespect? Then you call me an idiot? At least make up your mind.

I know a lot of people died that night, and my heart still aches for them. But, it wasn't the fault of the police, fire and ambulance... they had their hands full controlling the mob that did manage to escape the stampede, then stayed around to cause trouble so that those who didn't couldn't be rescued. Those people were as guilty as those later convicted in court.

  • they was jammin smh

  • I grew up with DeShawn Ray...it still cant believe that happen. I just seen him the day before........ R.I.P.

  • Great job on keeping our clubs safe, Chicago bureaucrats. Now you want to add ridiculous charges to venues and promoters instead of addressing the incompetency of city employees

  • RIP Dashand Ray, we still remember and love you. God Bless the families and loved ones of all the victims.

  • I used to go to this place back in 1991-92 when it was called, THE CLIQUE. It was a badass place with great dancing upstairs. Never had any trouble there all the people were cool and it had a very strict dress code. The stairway up to the second floor was only wide enough for two people. You would have to go up on the right and down on the left it was very orderly.

  • I went to the Clique too. But you have to admit that the stairs were very steep. And the two people walking up and down could touch shoulders side by side. It wasn't safe then.

  • You are right, the stairs were not safe but all the times I was there which was every Sat. night with my girl and some of her girls. There was never any trouble but I could say if anything like this went down the same thing might of happened. The Clique was a great place to go to.

  • This is a terrible tragedy. I know people were crushed in the initial rush, but I don't understand why people were still pushing at the one exit or the windows forty five minutes later, as some witnesses said. Once they realized there was not a fire or a chemical attack (the mace would have dissipated after a few minutes), why didn't the people towards the back of the crowd move away and spread out?

  • R.I.P. to my guy David, he was at the bottom of the crowd that was stuck in the door, it was his first time going to a club for his birthday and he didn't wanna go, he got caught comin back in from using his phone outside, David Jones R.I.P.

  • Sorry 4 ur loss. : (

  • The City of Chicago and the Chicago Fire Deptpartment are fully of shit. They knew that the E2's upstairs was the main part of the club. So the club should have been ordered closed. NOT JUST THE SECOND FLOOR, THE WHOLE CLUB SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED. See most think that the owners fucked up, but E2 had a VIP level just above the main club room. So this is where the confusion came into play. That VIP FLOOR IS BIG ENOUGH FOR 50+ PEOPLE. THEREFORE I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW THE OWNERS GOT CONFUSED

  • R.I.P. Eazay,Love Always,Stacey(chinae275)

  • Eazay was always there for me when I needed someone to talk 2 or a shoulder to cry on.She was always there for me.I will truly miss her and will always love her. Miss ya Sometimes I wish I was at home when she kept calling me on my phone to go with her,If only I was home, maybe things would have worked out differently.Well ,she is in a better place.May God bless her 2 children,Torrianna(9)and Lil.Torrence who is 5 now,he was only 3 weeks at this time.Bless the rest of the Rogers'Family.R.I.P."ET"

  • R.I.P.Eazay,(Best friends for life)LOVE ALWAYS AND 4EVER,STACEY

  • this is so sad.....what a horrible way to die and im sure everyone who survived has nightmares.....truly tragic

  • man i remember when this happened

  • God bless the victims and their families. Tragedies happen, but you can't blame the authorities for something that a bunch of party-going folks created by over-crowding a nightclub. We learn from our mistakes and pray this never happens again.

  • I survived the station barely.but when I look at this I KNOW THAT STATE AND CITY DID ALL THE VICTUMS NO JUSTICE!that owners should be in jail.but it's very said the hip hop artist never helped the victums out ether!the survivors are going through hell as we have.god bless the survivors and rest in peace to those who left us for heaven! please help the kids of this nightmare

  • God bless all there souls!!!

  • i'm confused WHAT HAPPENED

  • The papers reported that the place was way past its overcrowded limit. Someone on the dance floor relased mace spray and many thought it was a "terrorist" attack - causing everyone to rush for the exits, unfortunately only one working exit and it turned into a stampede - suffocating some and crushing others. Very sad.

  • thank you for telling me, it was really tragic

  • the unfortunate thing is, this was a wonderful place to go. This could have happened anywhere. People panic and your natural instinct is to protect yourself. What is also sad is the response from the authorities. They had no idea what to do. People suffered and died unnecessarily. Horrible. E2 21 bless your souls.

  • R.I.P to all the victims

  • R.I.P to all of E2 21 VICTIMS.LOVE YOU KESHA RAINEY.R.I.P TO MY LOVE ONE NIKKI RAINEY,LOVE YOU LIKE A SISTER ,LIFE JUST AIN'T RIGTH WIT OUT YOU LOVE,DAWN WE MISSING YOU.
