I didnt see this first time round. What a cultural artifact, Joni interviewed by Terry the complete dickhead. I dont know whether to be glad that she didn't turn on the sarcasm.
this guy would have been better than michael mcdonald who might have been used to increase record salesl but this song wasn't heard at all but patti labelle's 1986 duet with mcdonald was.
It's a UK show, and the host is one of our best known DJs, Terry Wogan who, at that time had an early evening chat show on the BBC. Obviously since it was filmed in the UK, Michael McDonald wasn't available.
Great post, thanks. Sound's not great, but I'm used to that after decades of Betamax listening! I saw this at the time and wondered whether the guy was the actual singer or just a clotheshorse standing in - I was sure it was Michael McDonald on the record. You've explained all!
Wow. The great lady must be embarrased by this one.

how prescient of her, though, to say that painting could take her away from music... she spent ten years painting and not making new music.

i loves synthesizers too but music became unbearable since the mid 1980s.
joni had good music out in the 1980s up to 1988.

@ddddguy234
synthesizers are still around but the music is unbearable so it's about who is using the synthesizer and what is preprogramed into keyboards.
this was good music. she chose good musicians for this.

Thanks! Yes I'll agree the sound is terrible, sorry. I think McDonald is listed on the album as singer on that track.
