  • Massive love to Mark Radcliffe for introducing this wonderful band and incredible song to a generation of students in the mid 90's.

Radio 1, 10pm-midnight, Monday - Friday, Mark and the Boy Lard. Greatest radio show ever.

Their final broadcast, when Tindersticks were live in the studio and closed the show with Tiny Tears is an ever abiding memory.

  • 3rd amazing band/artist Sopranos has led me to. Thanks again David Chase

  • @jincups Just curios what the 2 others are? Intro is quite nice imo

  • 3:41 - Black dude tries to whack Tony, and epically fails!!!!

  • YESH! I got it from The Sopranos too!! :D So much good music on that show.

BTW It's cause Tony was lying in bed heaps because of the medication, and the lyrics relate to Carmela going around with that melancholy (depressed) smile, while Tony has "been too busy looking at himself to notice the tiny tears in her eyes".

  • The Sopranos and this song can not even be put into words.

They are both a form art.

  • I am here because of The Sopranos!! :D

  • Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. ~MATTHEW 7:1-2

  • remembers me of depressed tony soprano :D

  • If folk want to chat about The Sopranos, then go on a Sopranos forum......Tindersticks were/are a fantastic band. This song is just one of many that reminds how great they were/are....

Check out 'If She's Torn' and also 'Another Night In' for further proof.....

  • A nice song for you!!

  • if your depressed this can push you over the edge to suicide.

  • I wouldn't have heard this song if not for the Sopranos. Season 1, episode 11, and it was used twice--first Tony in a profound depression, hallucinating, sitting in the shower in his robe looking strung out of his mind. The second usage was for the assassination attempt on Tony. It's used brilliantly in both instances--probably the two best scenes in one of the five best episodes of one of the five best TV shows in history--so the association is nothing, nothing, nothing to be ashamed of.

  • @misterdeadly1 Exactly, to me TV doesn't get any better than The Sopranos.

  • @thebiglebowski1993 Yeah, it's the best tv show ever.

  • MAY GOD BLESS WOMMELGRIET FOR POSTING THIS.....THANK YOU!!!!!

  • @nike2950 I NEED A SONG LIKE THISTO LISTEN DO TRYING TO RAISE A FAMILY IN THIS CRAZY WORLD!!!!

  • duh :d :-(

  • I love this song.11 series of the Sopranos one of the best.

  • I saw the Tindersticks perform live at the Royal Albert Hall. Truly awesome.

  • @nunnsofunky I saw them at Shepards Bush & didn't think they were that good, mind you i was spaced out on Heroin & kebabs that night.

  • @YoMamaBeenLurkin ...then your a complete IDIOT

  • "This song is a soundtrack on its own. No need to put this gem as background to some gangsta tv show."

Tindersticks are a fantastic band but can I just point out that the Sopranos is ALOT more than some 'gangsta tv show'. One of the greatest works of genius to grace television in the English speaking world which the use of this song only proves.

  • enough already with that sopranos crap. you fools need to listen to the entire 2nd Tindersticks album (untitled). This song is a soundtrack on its own. No need to put this gem as background to some gangsta tv show.

  • @ruben1million what are you talking about? At one point the sopranos was the highest rated television show in history, its a little more than some "gangsta tv show:" and if you watched the episode you would know how well this song fit with the situation. douche.

  • yeah it's a gangster television show sort of like king lear was about gangsters.

  • @ruben1million Just wondering, have you seen The Sopranos. This song couldn't be associated with something more clever if it wanted.

  • Tony was about to come out of his depression right after this song. He was at the peek of his prescription drug use. Remember he was sitting in the shower when they played this. I so wish that series was still running. "Tiny Tears" for sure.

  • Fantastic song, fantastic band, but cheezy cliche pointless goth picture.

  • finally learned this song on he guitar, C, EM , D, chorus G, D, and A, love this song

  • pięknie

  • Great song absolutely fabulous

  • Love the way I understand it, lots of tiny tears throughout the years and far too many fears.

  • love this song

  • It sounds in my soul ;)

  • This song was on the Sopranos season 1! When Tony's mom sent those guys to whack him.

  • They coouldn't have picked a better song to go along with the scenes in that episode.

  • @smilingratt

And my God! What a scene!!!

  • @knicks3085 it was junior wasnt it?

  • very creepy sound kinda johnny cash meets goth

  • great song, i remember it from a few years back..off to see them at manchester cathedral in march, hope it's as good as the albert hall gig i last went to....

  • lindo ,adoro.

  • word

  • tiny tears can be great

  • Sounds like my last few days...snapped out of it this morning though.

  • Yeah the producers had a good grasp on uk music and used it to good effect throughout the run of the Sopranos. It struck a chord with USA audiences who were not always familiar with the soundtrack. Oh and yes this was a good song.

  • I'm glad it was put in the sopranos otherwise I propably wouldn't ever hear it!

  • @maslany90 Same here. The first time I saw that episode and heard this song I frantically went online to find out who it was. :) Such a great episode too!

  • @maslany90

    Same for me.

Still, given the content of this great song, I can't believe how many people responding have ignored its lyrics & got on with their petty little arguments - as if they matter by comparison.

  • F*** the Sopranos; this was a great song long before they came along.

It is sad that it took an (admittedly very good) American TV show to put this song on the map.

  • Why?

  • @ATiredDogsMouth No real grudge against the Sopranos, it was more of a gripe about the way that really good but obscure tunes seem to be only defined or accessed as incidental music in tv or films.

  • yep but an american d-bag like me wouldve never heard this if it wasnt for the sopranos

  • The stuggling artist. Well I have known them here in LA and a few who hit it big. Guess what, they still take the money. The struggling artist is a ploy they use as part of their artistic act.

  • @ashtree50 im just glad i clicked on the sopranos episode that had this track playin because this song is the shit

  • tony jej

  • isat. i listened. i loved.

when i hear this i remember tony soprano.

  • Cheer up Tony.

  • Thumbs down?! Fine, I'm still not changing my opinion. The best way to oversome depression is to mock it.

  • You sound like someone who knows the best way for others to handle their struggles. If you weren't merely one person with one perspective, it might make more sense. Look up the word "sympathy". You seem to have the word confused with "empathy". Neither you or I can be sympathetic to everyone. We can't possibly know how everyone else feels, therefore, we can't speculate on the best way for them to deal with their difficulties.

  • @brwhizz and kalifornication. I think both of you bring up a good point as to what this song is about. The lyrics do suggest that because of our own self pity we can be apathetic or unaware about the others close to us that suffer just as much, but all have there way of dealing with it. Although we are in the same boat in an ocean of tears, there is no expression of empathy and it only increases the feeling of isolation.

  • I like this song: it kind of mocks depression, showing what a self-indulgent thing it is.

  • what a song!

  • Prachtig nummer*

  • Ey! It's Tony Soprano!

  • I've been listening to the Tindersticks for more than a decade (this song came up in '94) I just think it's not cool that this masterpiece is now being associated with the sopranos show.

  • You are right, but if not for Sopranos, I wouldn't have discovered this band... Just wouldnt know about it. This way many people found out this band exists.

  • there was way more to sopranos than "ultraviolece" that show was deep in many was. especially with metaphors and foreshadowing

  • Totally agree mate, an outstanding show that will never be quite repeated.

I wish they would make a one off movie or something!

  • Hey, it's the song by the Sopranos!

  • i love you becca!!!

  • yea an overrated show, tell that to the millions of people who watched the show u fucking retard.

  • i watched the show, its excellent. i own every season but season 6 part 2 i think..

  • They are legendary...timeless... and stunningly unforgettable... Thank you guys for having saved my life at moments.................

  • To be honest, its just my opinion and all-and I more than welcome all the thumbs down I'm gonna get from it...but the show actually made it sound like a better song than it really is, I dont know HOW it did that, but it did.

  • dude the sopranos is a piece of art

  • It is

  • Gangsta crap? Do us a favour, buy yourself a brain.

  • Tony at rock bottom, until he gets shot at of course.
