I played CS:S a year ago and had no issues with any of my skins.

I moved back into my old home, and all the stuiff was still there, but when STEAM Updated, it now shows up all black (no skin) but the gun shape is different and such.

Some skins don't work, such as kannoe's Nighthawk (USP) skin and BlackFire AWP.

My Scout skin, Duallies, (Gangsta-sideways)Glock, (Eggeh-flip-you-off)Mac 10, and Baretta(Sig228), sojas 357 revolver (replace D.Eagle) all work.

@marksman370 Your textures wernt installed properly. Try re-installing them. If that doesnt work, Find a new skin.

@crazedslaye well i never encountered that problem until the recent update my mac skin just started showing up on the left but the rest is fine it could be the recent update problem

@Axonn60 PLease dude. We asked how to fix it. Not what caused it. I dont get updates for my CS:S and It happend to me too when I downloaded a skin. I tried replacing the skin and its still left handed!!!

@crazedslaye sorry, just tried hat you did and it works just fine, when im on a server that doesnt allows skins i dont see my skin but at least i see the original :D, and the sounds are fine for me, maybe it was a specific skin you downloaded that had some problems or something like that.

i have a solution to a problem like this, server is enforcing consistency for this file and so on, make a copy of the materials, sound, models, resource, and scripts folder to your desktop and when that problem shows up, erase the materials, sounds, models, resource and scripts folder and replace it with the files on your cstrike folder with the skins on those folders. and have fun pwning ppl on css!!

models/weapons/w_smg_mp5.mdl. i tried deleting that file and the same thing shows up all over again! i need help pronto

(i dont want to re-install css again and try to find all the files and skins for my counter strike)

cut the sound, models, materials and resource out to your desk top and then cut it in again so easy XD

the problem with my skins is that every time i download any gun skin dowesnt matter wich one, it never works. i have winrar and i do everything right but the gun skins never work. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

24muradian24 did install it correctly as it is suppose to be in your cstrike folder or it could be that your server does not allow skins like a a jailbreak server i played although i had skins in my folders they some how showed the old skins and the old sounds so it could be the server your playing have you tried any other servers?

first search the weapon you want change, ex: FAMAS for a L85A2, search all FAMAS archives and cut it, copy all L85A2 archives and paste it on the correct folders.

Nope, I play with my clan and we allow skins, with the game_sounds_manifest textfile

I found a better way ;) Instead of remove it. Rename it to _game_sounds_manifest

Its like remove it but you dont need to put it back every time you want to play with skins. Just rename it back to the orginal name to use your skins :D
