@KSIG3NICID3 1. The grain of rice technique for for single core processors, quad cores need thin even paste all over. 2. I didnt use all that was there I used a cleaned credit card to spread and take up a clump of excess.
It works great, but actually I have a hexcore i7 970 now instead of the 920. Also GTX560 in SLi instaed of 9800GTs. I read it ismmuch more dangerous for multiple core processors to have to little paste than it is having too much.
@HubbaBubba9849 I am rebuilding my setup this week. This time I will be more ballsy and cut a few holes in the case to route wires better. You can route wires behind the motherboard, but the case only has 2 holes to get in and out of; it is cramped.
@megamindstorm101 Yeah it fits fine on the mobo, I did have to break a fan mount on the Antec 900's front plate to fit the sliding cover back on though. No big deal..
I am beginning to hate that motherboard, this is the 2nd time that mine gets fried, first time it was due to bios update and now i didn't do anything it just wont boot so i'l be sending it 2mrw to RMA, i wish that i got another boardmmy system i7 920, DX58S), 295GTX Inno3D platinum, 1 TB WD, thermaltake case similar to the one in the movie, 2x2G kingston , cldn't find corsair in my country and no store will ship to the middle east . anyone experiencing problems with this mobo?
iam thinking about building something simular Mtn but i dont know which motherboard to get with my Geforce gtx 295 i dont really know if its there newest or not i was thinkin that or the new raideon one can i pm on youtube or at your email address.
Everything I have heard about the new ATI cards is that while powerful, are really loud compared to Nvidia's top of the line. I dont have a brand preference, I just find Nvidia's series easier to follow. I think it might be best to hold out for the Nvidia 300 series. Its supposedly being released soon, and if you cannot afford them, at least the 200 series will drop a lot in price.
For the motherboard, I would look around for one with 6 memory DIMMS, so you can upgrade memory cheaper down then road or right off the bat. I dont really think there is anything special about this board, I like the eSATA, but they all have that now.
Thank you, sorry my english I'm from Brazil and I am not sure if what I'm saying is completely correct, and again thanks for the tips, are very useful.
performance wise I can say its been fine running at 3.2ghz for many months.. I haven't really stressed the board for clocking. I am not pleased with Intels support when my first one blew (there is a known issue with them dying upon plugging a mic in from the header port. same happened to my friend.) The one I got back from Intel had a dead eSATA port and spill marks on the back. I wish it has more ram DIMMS. I got a sweeet deal, it was basically free in my package, so its not bad for me.
Driver wise its been great also, no issues. And I didn't like the north-bridge optional fan, so I got the antec spot cool fan to replace that (it was very high pitched loud). Another issue Ive had is getting my DDR1600 to run at 1600mhz, you need a bios update, but after that I still couldn't get it to run at that without having to pull the cmos battery. Tests have shown that the diff between 1333/1600 is not noticeable, and the batter latency times are a nice tradeoff at running it @1333mhz.
you have to be very careful of the memory you buy, this board cant take a high or even a regular voltage memory, you have to find low voltage stuff. I bought OCZ platinum 3x2GB kit for $70 off a newegg shell shocker.
well, its running at 3.2ghz, the stock is 2.66, Im sure it could go much higher, but im fine at this level. Memory is stock at 1600MHZ and the graphics cards are already the "OC+" versions, so they are top of the overclocking versions. The system runs cool with this Antec 900 case, and as far as settings go, this mobo was different from my last one, basically you just change the FSB and it does the rest.
That transition at 0:08 is really cool! Also I think you have a bit too much thermal paste on there but I could be wrong. Also what camera are you using because the pictures look really good and so do the videos!
its all done with a Panasonic DMC-TS1, its a 12MP camera that does 720p video. And its waterproof! Ive got some other samples taken from it on my channel. Thanks for the comments! I haven't had any temperature problems so far with the thermal paste it has on.
Wow I'll definitely check out the other videos on your channel because that's a pretty amazing camera! Also is it water resistant so it can get splashed with water or is it full waterproof so you can take it under water? Also yeah maybe that is a good amount of thermal paste it just kinda looked like a little much. Thanks for the response!
Waterproof, as in you can swim with it in your bathing suit pocket. Its nice to have a camera you can literally take anywhere without worry. I decided to go waterproof after a sony camera in my bathing suit ended up in the ocean water... Olympus makes them too, but theirs dont do HD video, and they use quicktime...
Wow that's amazing! The camera quality is really nice and surprisingly the video quality is amazing for a camera not even a camcorder! I watched the video of your dog running in the yard and the quality is again amazing even better outside I think. Do you know how good it picks up sound because a lot of cameras that take videos don't have a very good mic. Also when you say waterproof is that just taking it in the water or can you actually take pictures/videos too?
Yeah, it works underwater, search youtube for "Panasonic DMC-TS1 FT1 HD Video Samples under water - Eddington Pond Maine" TO see my under water sample. As far as sound goes, its average.. it dims when you zoom, watch my video "The Decemberists - I don't want to lose your love - Live University Maine in Orono" to hear it at a concert.
Yeah I checked them out and I'm really impressed! The video at the lake looked amazing especially that part after you pulled it out from under water the first time. The under water doesn't look too bad but it's kinda hard to tell when it's not in a clear pool or ocean or something. Also the sound quality is really impressive too at the concert! I have to say I think you've managed to pick up one of the best camera I've seen for quality wise. If you don't mind how much did you pay?
$300 the day it came out, but I see them on eBay for $250 buy it now. Also, there is a new version coming out soon, but its exactly the same except also freeze proof, which I think mine is anyway, I live in maine and take it cross country skiiing in 9 deg F weather. By the way, in a pool, you can see everything really bright, crystal clear over the entire pool... murky mineral maine lake water doesn't do justice.
Wow only 300?! I went to the Panasonic site and it said it was $480 so I thought that was a little expensive for me. $250 and even $300 is an amazing price! Also yeah I figured it would look pretty good in a pool or somewhere with lots of light that's really clear.
Ive actually got a video from it uploading now from this summer, in clearer water with a fish. Itll be about an hour before it is ready though.. by the way, in comparison to those mini flash video cameras, keep in mind this guy has optical image stabilization.. much less shaking while filming.
Yeah that's why because whenever you have a video going and you move it around your case it seems really smooth. I can't wait to see that video too I'll subscribe and make sure to check it out!
That is way too much thermal paste, should use the grain of rice technique. A thin but even layer is best.

@bremstone No idea lol, never seen one in person, it will depend on the CPU placement of your motherboard too.
