I'm looking for the skit about soda can rings and ducks... How you need to cut them up for the duck's sake and eventually Pat was saying that people also must not tell a duck he's a duck because he doesn't know he's a duck and it might hurt their feelings (or some idea like that)
I need to schedule the recordings again. Sure with they would publish a DVD!
Does anyone have a copy of the Almost Live sketch- "Johnny Jake, surprisingly pleasant Viet Nam vet" that they can post? That was one of my favorite spots. Also the Uncle Buzz spots.
The Johnny Jake skit sounds familiar, do you remember anything else that might have been on that same show ? Uncle Buzz was very funny but Cashman also did a repeating skit as Randy Scott and was called DJ Cop, DJ Dentist, DJ Priest, DJ Pilot and several other DJ charters. Well funny sh!t
I'm not sure what else was on that episode, although I was thinking of the video of John Keister getting a videotape of his future (for just $6.66) in relation to that but I'm not sure. The Johnny Jake one featured a guy who kept looking like he was going to have a Viet Nam flashback and go psycho but then he'd simply give a pleasant remark to someone. I.e. he ducked when he heard a helicopter and his friend tried to assure him that it was okay but instead he got up and said, "Found a quarter!"
Pat Cashman is great and makes Almost Live what it was. I am working on getting my 41'st DVD cut of show.
I manage to get 6 episode (commercials edited out)at great quality per disk. That is over 240 shows so far but I'm always looking for more. That works out to be over 85 hours of viewing. I need to get these cataloged so that won't repeat any of these shows I burn to disk in the future.
These shows are not on my harddrive and I have spent over one year of recording these and one sh!t load of time editing the commercials out. I don't just give this stuff out like candy at halloween.
That's great, but selling copyrighted material is not a good business plan - King 5 is good enough to let these stay up on youtube, but if someone starts selling the material, they may track you down!
Yep, I agree with you murphicus, if you want the full collection of Almost Live!, just set your DVD recorder to record every week just like I did. Sure it will take you a while, but so does good wine. I have been recording for over 3 years now myself. I have 246 shows recorded with 11 left to go for the 257 episode full meal deal. The low quality resolution skits posted on Youtube really are no threat to KING 5 TV in this era of HDTV.

I do remember seeing that skit on the soda can rings in my collection somewhere, I think it ran in the early to mid 1990's.

I will dig around in my notes that I have made for making a data base later and see if I have anything like that.

Heheh... spoof of an old series of infomercials (Amazing Discoveries) that were supposed to look like live talk shows. I miss Almost Live.
