This game didn't have to be close; a lack of scouting by HD was the major problem here. Realizing the opponent had only 1 base would have given early warning that a timing attack was coming, and with the long ground distance the mutas could have flown in, annihilated the queen and the drone line, and flown back in time to defend.

Hmm, Zerg buildings die when they are off creep right? Doesn't this mean all your buildings would have eventually died? So if your opponent just waited, your buildings might have died before your mutas were able to finish him off.

no, that only pertains to the larvae. if the larva move off the creep (which they won't by themselves, you have to forcibly remove creep around them) then they will die as soon as they touch normal ground. buildings don't self-destruct just cuz there's no creep around them. it's the same in SC1, so i don't know why they'd change that in sc2. just lettin u know

it has an ability called transfusion which heals an organic target and then spawn larva which spawns 4 extra larva on a hatchery/lair/hive and there is one more i think they have but you can build multipule queens and they are pretty good against air i think

Lols, it was an entertaining game to watch. The Blue player should have spammed Spore Crawlers and Hydra's to protect his mineral lines when he saw the Mutalisk and should have expanded somewhere out of sight as soon as he saw he was going to lose his current mineral lines.

But as always, as a spectator like me you have easy talking, but during the heat of battle I also often forget a lot of stuff like that because I am too preoccupied with all the micro. That's just what makes SC so great. xD

It's funny how everyone seems to go mass roaches and nobody is even trying to come up with a good counter with zerg from the start and just goes mass roaches as well, could we perhaps see a ZvsZ match with some more unit-variation?

With 4 roaches vs 3 or 4 mutas he could have easily won. He only had to kill a few buildings. He just needed to burrow to regenerate health, and the mutas wouldn't be able to kill them quickly enough.

Sounds like a joke but zerg structures actually do lose health when not upon creep (with exception of extractors). I noticed that while ago in one of my own games against AI (no key sob).

You know what I miss about Starcraft 1? The fact that when zerg units died they screamed, It wasn't just a squishy sound and blood. I think it made their deaths seem more important. Fantastic game too, I don't know how you did that, he had a fully functioning main and an expansion when you went in with your 12 mutas.

I mean, normally it's a base exchange which both player wipes out the workers and the man base, so one guy couldn't build worker/man base anymore and end up losing. but his, while attacking, lost all mineral and is not able to build anymore unit while opponent has 2~3 units left is pretty rare.

If he didn't leave the game you would have lost. Your buildings were decaying because of no creep on them (unless you were moving the overlords to them at the end there?) I don't think either of you realized that - you would have never killed his base in time before your own buildings die.
