I know the last post was quite some time ago, but I have this card also and was wondering if anyone else with it experienced high temperatures. I have the XFX HD4890 Extreme Edition, and using HW Monitor, I've recorded temps as high as 82°C under full load. I often have to go into the Control Panel and manually set the fan speed to about 70% or higher if I want to keep the card from exceeding 60°C. I haven't yet O.C.'ed it, but I want to. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! =)

its up you fps... in Crysis... you have 20fps with one card if you put it with crossfire you have 40fps and this playble fps...

wrong, in many games you wont see a big jump at all. In crysis you might see a jump from 20 to 30 but not anything too high. The simple reason is bandwidth

@Shadownet123123 a gtx 295 is about 5% FASTER than a gtx 260 core 216 sli setup. However the reason a gtx 275 sli setup is faster than 295 is because each card has its own slot which facilitates the cards ability to perform. The 295 has to share 1 pci express slot for 2 videocards which makes it less powerful than an sli setup. That is why a dual core videocard sometimes cost less than 2 videocards that are equivalent to the dualcore card.

yes, but GTX295 is still being 2 GTX260 ... because it is like HD4870X2 and 2hd4870 in crossfire. The HD4870X2 is faster about 10% because crossfire is integrated into the pc card and see it as one ..

A bottleneck basically means a component in the computer that is slowing down the whole system.

every pc has a bottleneck, In this case the Q6600 would be a bottleneck to his 4890 thus not showing its full potential.

But its not a huge bottleneck to say that the cpu and gpu is going to be a noticable bottleneck.

like an good old AMD Althon 64 would be paired up to a 4870 or 4890.

LOL what they write on internet on respected sites and magazines is mostly true... The fact that you have a "friend" maybe just means his card or configuration sucks. With a good setup the GTX275 will beat the hd4890 EVERY time. But why argue? It's also more expensive... I just bought myself a HD4890, more then enough power for e few years to come. Shadownet123123, i don't know how much temps are on your GPU, but I have this same card [but not Saphire] and I have clocks 960 on core and 1150 [4600 effective] on memory, in games i have fan speed ~52% and max temp is over 72 o C [fabric cooling] without any atefacts, and perfomance is so higher.I feel it. :) Maybe try overclock higher. BTW, nice movie ;)
