Basking sharks along with the whale sharks eat Plankton and their throats do not open wide enough to even eat fish not to mention their is no way they could eat a person so if you see one of those swimming by you which you probably never will just lay back and enjoy!
el tiburon peregrino esta en peligro de extincion ,recorre los mares de muchos paises desde el Norte al Sur . lamentable quedan muy pocos vivos de esta especie ¡
@Banminator kill them all? man the whale shark and this one here the basking shark are completly harmless and they are the biggest these ones i wouldnd like them to become extinct
Poor shark. :( I'd be pretty scared of them if i was in teh water, but they dont deserve to die anymore than we do. In fact more sharks get killed by humans every year than vice versa. *sigh*
acctually this is a shark tha doesnt eat anybody or anything prob one of the most harmless sharks besides whale shark, and plus great whites only attack b/c well you look like a seal or somthing in the water
I would swim away in terror at any fish big enough to eat me, but these sharks don't bite at all. People swim with these guys, but I am not so brave lol.
Aww poor thing! It looks like the reason why it is dying is because it had been caught in something! Do you see that light blue thing towards the furthest right side of his body? He may have eaten something or been caught by a man-made object. Thats sad to see. Poor thing :(
I think it was a Greenland shark...the proportions looked all wrong to me for a basking shark, though it was hard to tell with the head in the water like that. Plus basking sharks wouldn't be hanging out in Norway..they are filter feeders who prefer warmer, plankton rich waters.
Greenland sharks are found in the Greendland/Scandinavian area (hence the name!) while Sleeper sharks are common in alaska. But scientests have much evidence to think that these two species are one and the same. :)
i hate to tell you this but that is not greenland shark.... the greenland shark lives strictly in the arctic ocean in ALASKA. that my friend was a Basking Shark.... the basking shark is very odd shark with a very large mouth and eats small fish.... it is a friendly giant... you can safely swim with them and not worry about a thing.
@Sk8chic100 I don't think this animal was a Greenland shark,(and you're probably right about it being a basking shark) but they do actually live in Norwegian waters - they are even relatively common in some areas. The world record greenland shark was caught in a Norwegian fjord, for example. And this place that Malswam mentions, Sørøya - where it stranded - is an island in the most northern Norway, and it is high up in the Arctic Ocean.

Fuck sharks, kill them all, even see Jaws?
Sharks are on a mission to destroy all humans and take over the planet, we must stop them before it's too late.
Pigeons too. Though their sneakier about it.

exactly teasel102.... and the gills are way to big to be a greenland/sleepershark.
Sk8chic100 3 years ago
In addition, that is most definitely a basking shark. Look at the pectoral fin, it's the wrong shape to be a Sleeper Shark's fin.

Thank you for your reply. Done some research, and it was definitely a basking shark. The locals ment it was a greenlandshark so..
malswam 3 years ago
Hey so what happened to it? did someone save? Did it die? did locals eat it?
janitormopmop 2 years ago
They cut of the dick and some other parts of the fish, then they pulled the whale far out in the sea and sank it.
malswam 2 years ago
that sounds like they took samples to see what killed it mostly but with whales they usually bury them in places where zoos bury their animals
Crystalwolf78 2 years ago
@malswam nice ..
should i sank you in the sea too ? ; )

we cut wings off, then kill it, that take it back at sea and sink it...

@Sk8chic100 sorry dude ,greenland sharks live in the atlantic ocean..not the bering sea outside alaska..
