Perfect cover for Jett. I'm sure Westerberg would approve after all he co-wrote and played/sang on her song Backlash and they also did a duet on the Tank Girl soundtrack. I'm sure the Replacements "fucked this up" a few times themselves. Another good cover is her version of Star Star.

Eh, I took another listen. I still think it's terrible. I garuntee the 'mats fucked it up a few times as well. but damn.. I dunno. This is just terrible. I think Joan Jett is doing some great things for music.. covering this song like so.. not so much. Just my own thoughts on the matter. I may have been a tad harsh before, but I still stand by the core thought.

No the Crash Test Dummies covered it. Which was actually pretty brutal. The original version was off The Replacements "Let it Be".

Joan Jett at First Ave was the most punk rock concert I've been to in years. She came out and rocked hard and fast for two hours. I really didn't expect that from a "classic rock" artist.

She's the real deal.

Not to sound prickish, but what cover of a Replacements song would be any less "obscure?" The Ledge? Alex Chilton? Here Comes A Regular? I mean, we are talking about a truly indie modern rock band with a giant following (when I was a teenager) but no hit single, unlike Psych Furs, Crowded House, or, like, Simple Minds. I always considered this song to be a stand out on Let It Be.

cannot thank you enuf for the joan jett vids. she is the BEST. such good quality. my birthday is tomorrow and this is the best present ever next to seeing her live again. THANKS AGAIN what a great show it must have been! so glad she is still rocking the usa. We need her now sooooooo much.
