  • I fucking bless the day I heard Neurosis for the first time... IS FUCKING BRUTAL!!!

  • Why the fuck is there a link to a nickelback video on this page

  • 5:26

  • A Nicola Roberts advert? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!

  • Neurosis...no need to write anything else

  • RISE IN FIRE AND RETURN TO US! that last scream is EPIC!

  • this piece of neurosis makes clear how most of the people feel when emotional pestilence grows and builds an armor so that the core of our life cannot emerge.

  • they should do dvd with videos for all of their albums! I'd love to see one for The Eye of Every Storm!

  • it's my favorite track off this album - it touches me in so many ways... the riffs, the whole atmosphere... and THOSE VOCALS!! Scott did really great job here, one of his best performances ever

  • @malonemuert I actually wrote a 5 page essay in college about how From The Hill is our generations Stairway to Heaven that no body knows about. This song has burned itself into my heart and will stay there till I die.

  • 6:56 is the deepest, most authentic scream i have ever heard.

  • i agree. realest band out there. by far.

  • just saw them at atp fest. curated by godspeed fuckin amazing

  • intro is very toolish up until the vocals

  • I'm one of those people who find happy(mind-numbing meaningless) party music very irritating.. and i like sad depressing music like neurosis.. am seeing neurosis live on new years eve... \m/ \m/

  • @vdwaynev I don't know, but I don't find most of neurosis music depressing at all... maybe it's only me, but their music is more uplifting in the sense of some spiritual way... but that record with Jarboe - now that's some black, depressing trip!

  • I worship this album

  • that is goin two pas in milion n milion of yers

  • Neurosis is a different type of music a never have heared before. It sounds different but cool.

  • Just started listening to this band. So far, every song blew me away.

  • no offense and i know everybody here will troll around, or call me a troll, but in my opinion fall of efrafa did much, much better job than neurosis...

they found a better way to combine all those genres like hardcore, post rock, black metal, all that shit... fall of efrafa did it better than neurosis. its my view... they just had more atmosphere in their songs. more emotion.

though neurosis had a better feeling for names. i mean most guys cant even pronounce fall of efrafa. :'D

  • @LifevsMusic

While I respect your opinion, there's no way that a band that released there first record in 2007 and their last in 2009 and aren't even the best progressive/post metal band to have come out of the UK, let alone the world can seriously be touted as being 'better' than a band who were making records 18 years before them and are largely responsible for creating the whole post metal subgenre. Fall of Efrafa were ok in sub- Cult of Luna kind of way, but more atmospheric than Neurosis?!

  • @DrRepper well, i didnt exactly say, and also didnt mean, that fall of efrafa are actually better. they just did a better job to my ears. :P

now, i know, thats shit. :'D

point is, that bands are actually never better than another. they may be richer, or more succesful, or techincally more skilled, but music in fact can never be better, or worse. ;)

its just, that when i listen to FoE i get chilled every time.

neurosis never woke emotions in me, not even close to do so.

    but thats subjective...

  • @LifevsMusic Neurosis brings me to the ground every time I listen to them. Nothing at all...no matter what it is even compares to this. That's just me.

  • @tcbshaded39 jep, you say it. thats the whole point. everyone has his own favourite bands. :)

  • @LifevsMusic Well that depends on what your ears preffer more, but in my opinion what moves you emotionally, touches you to the core, you find yourself in the lyrics, stuff that you can relate to, and what gives you chills, now that's the music what your heart preffers :)

  • @40mbe jep, thats what i say. ;)

and nurosis doesnt to me. but FoE does. :)

    everybodys got another tast. ;)

  • @LifevsMusic

i respectfully disagree. i like fall of efrafa, but they take an attempt for musical vulture and contemplative ideas which seem, in the end, integrated for structural purposes. to fix their stuff more exciting and likeable, although its pure. neurosis manage to leave an emotional purity in their songs which is absolutely unique. fall of efrafa are, as artists, not capable to provide this purity neurosis offers.

  • @elgreco18 i didnt really understand anything. :D:D

but i can imagine what you want to say.

yeah, i think neurosis in fact are 'better' musicians, and their songwriting is more 'complex', but as i listen to hardcore eversince im into music aside the radio, 'simple' music fits me better. thats just my taste...

i can understand why people enjoy neurosis anyway. ;)

  • omg i was like "lets listen to this" and almost 10 min later im like omg the song is almost over lol i need more

  • I saw them on the "Times of Grace" tour. I think it was the most moved I have ever been by a live show and I've seen alot over the past 20 some years. This is from the DVD "A Sun That Never Sets", it's the entire cd set to visuals. I can't begin to imagine how many times I've watched it from beginning to end for around 8 years now. If ya like this one, check out the song: Crawl Back In.

  • I have recently practiced screaming this song. I have the rough tone in my voice for it, but it's just so painful to do. I can only go through it twice before my throat really starts to burn. How they have been doing it for almost 25 years is simply insane.

  • @tcbshaded39 diaghphramatic breathing. ;)

  • @tcbshaded39 If it hurts, you're doing it wrong. Singing never hurts when done correctly and it is possible to sing like that without hurting your throat.

  • I wish the video quality wasn't shit.

  • locust star really turned me onto neurosis. been listening to them for a few hours now and really like what i'm hearing.

  • \m/ i hope to see them in some time in the home city during a fest #1

  • I've learned to cherish the low profiles kept by amazing bands such as this, for the moment they're consumed by popular media they lose their soul, and their way. And though it wasn't intended, I'm sure they are impervious to the hallow masquerade that is modern pop radio. Idiots who are spoon fed stupid teeny bop elctro beats are undeserving of Neurosis and Isis and so many other bands such as this.

  • amen brother

  • You said it man I whole heartedly agree with you, started listening to these guys 8yrs ago and they still blow me away!!

  • I listen to Neurosis,Tool, and Isis very much. I love all three bands. They all have something pure about them.

But Neurosis takes it by miles.

Nothing surpasses their workmanship and pure emoting while playing.

  • Idiotic spelling correction time!!!...Emotion*

    Ughh...*facepalm*

  • kelly the teacher!!

  • Neurosis also had a child known as Mastodon

  • yusifer, i think they influence the postcore wave in majority, what about the bands you talk about ?

  • the best band i ever had the fortune of seeing

  • @oplopanux I would kill to see them

  • I'm shocked at how many people don't realize how influential neurosis are. They are realest band to bless ears.

  • Totally awesome, so intense \m/. I like.

  • All their songs are effing awesome.

  • Great song, and great album.

  • this song is asolutely depressive...it is great..

  • I coincidently came across Neurosis while browsing through Mastodon songs, and now I can't stop listening to it

and god damn i should be working

  • Scott Kelly's voice is so fucking intense. I feels like my head is about to fuckin explode.

  • neurosis is way better than isis

  • Damn. This is awesome.

  • they sound a lil like tool...cept for the vocals

  • if anything, Tool sounds a bit like Neurosis. Tool wasn't even around when Neurosis formed.

  • First time I saw Neurosis was in Guadalupe, AZ, in a shitty hall, 1989. Hippycore put it on. Next time I saw Neurosis was in someone's house in Tempe, AZ, in 1990. Last time I saw Neurosis was in Tucson, AZ in an actual venue in 1992 (I believe). Lol. One of best hardcore/punk/metal bands of all time.

  • @darrenlaney that soo sweet i wish i was old enough to go in 1992!! hahah i wasnt born yet ...Im from tucson!!

  • my favourite song by far, gotta love music that connects with you

  • Neurosis rules.

    Sun O)) suck

  • first metal band i ever heard 8 years ago

  • man how did your mind not implode?

  • I saw them at Ozzfest 1996 (when it was actually a good tour) when they were promoting "Through Silver in Blood" and in 1999 for the "Times of Grace" tour with Napalm Death (which by the way is the gayest live band next to Dragonforce). Neurosis is amazing live.

  • Don't be such a hater, Napalm Death are great too.

I agree with you on the whole Neurosis being great live and everything, but what else would you expect from such a great band.

  • i just found out about neurosis, and the music is so awesome ! how could they stay so unknown

  • ISIS is another band much lke them , soul quaking

  • whats up jared l, takeing my phrase now, well ya listen to more ISIS

  • That's exactly why they're unknown.

  • grimmest band imagineable,

    un-fucking-believable

possibly one of the greatest if not THE greatest band ever

amazingly heavy, grim, and nothing but intense

  • seriously chek out ISIS its similer

  • neurosis are way better

  • best band ever

  • best cunting band EVER

  • neurosis are the shit!

  • I just found this video last night...watched it like 10 times back to back LITERALLY. intense.

  • From the hill - I've been watching - stealing the light.

In my dreams I touch animal blood rich earth swallow it down deep into my soul.

It feeds her war and raises my true nature. When I awake I am whole.

    All the gods are screaming.

My feet of clay lead me on through the void and far beyond

to demonstrate my will and path, to embrace the wolf in her glory.

All hail her and wash this time in blood.

The horizon will burn, rise in fire and return to us.

  • From the grill - I've been cooking - stealing the coal.

In my dreams I touch animal blood rich burger swallow it down deep into my stomach.

It feeds her lettuce and raises my true sauce. When I awake I am full.

    All the gods are munching.

My griddle of wendy's lead me on through the table and far beyond

to demonstrate my hunger and path, to embrace the big mac in her glory.

All hail her and cook this burger in blood.

The patty will char, rise in fire and return to my stomach.

  • Just to clarify and avoid a shitstorm, I love neurosis. I like to make parodys of songs for fun.

  • Hahaha you sir, made me laugh...

  • lmao

  • I am a huge Neurosis fan, and I must say, those lyrics are amazing.

  • @BlackMetalRaven45 HAHAHAHA man, I love neurosis, they have great and deep lyrics, but this is SOO funny!

  • @BlackMetalRaven45 fuck you

  • Comment removed

  • Oh man I love it when the bagpipes kick in. Makes the song so much darker and surreal.

  • ^__^

  • jesus christ thats fuckin heavy

  • jesus fucking christ . intense
