What was really classy is that aldo showed mercy to faber once he realized he was hurt. How many times did faber turn his back after being hammered by a leg kick or after trying one of his ridiculous moves that failed. Aldo could have hurt him so much worse. That is a true champion. OK.People who talk shit and say jose was a pussy for doing leg kicks and not "fighting like a man" are idiots.As in Boxing....your legs and body are a majority of your power and movement...So what happens? YOU attack the legs and body.. so hes unable to move as fast,lateral movement is also jacked.Leg Kicks ARE NOT ONLY GOOD FOR CLOSING THE DISTANCE...the slower he gets the more openings you have because your opponent doesnt wanna get kicked anymore and starts droppin his hands also.so yea.hush

@wyattms69 Totally agree &im tired of these faber dick riders. Give aldo his credit he broke faber's foundation which is speed and agility. Leg kicks were the tool for the job. But lets not forget round 4 when faber spent 1.5 minutes gettin his face smashed in the crucifix position. Showed heart cause he could have just gave up but either way aldo showed superior ground control. He also did a good job at covering fabers nose and mouth creating issues with breathing. Tactical&skillful destruction

2cont. the fighters need the basics, part of which is knowing how to check kicks and not take a kick full on or unanswered. shit uriah could've bent a knee, turned and let him kick his buttock...WAAAY better than letting the guy kick the thigh.
the u.s. camps better get wise and stop all this body building bullshit and start training their fighters to be fighters. ever wonder why our fighters are LOOKING cut but getting fucked up.
THERE's a reason for that...get a clue.

@doctorsizzle Doesn't he have to see the kick coming though? I mean I agree that leg kicks or kicks in general don't seem to get the attention they'd deserve in MMA, but how do you check a kick that completely catches you by surprise? Jose Aldo is super fast.

@Altairograph yes he has to see it...but as i've said before...you nor anyone can say that he was totally not prepared to deal with fighters with superior striking MOST mma fighters aren't many mma fighters in the U.S. are wrestlers who they try to teach boxing to...you can't get boxing or any kind of striking in a couple of months.
the same point i'm making is proven by aldo's ability to deliver kicks such as the ones that tenderized uriah's leg. thanks for the reply.

you can't blame his corner...it's just most of the american training that is to blame. in a sport where there are kicks mma fighters suck dirty ass in terms of basic skill. that damage faber has are from un-checked kicks. you look at k-1 and those guys kick 10 times harder and the WALK away from most fights no limping.
the problem is the U.S. standard in mma training. there is too much compartmentalizing of training...it's too much.

i don't favor uriah...but i like this guy man. if he's from cali he reminds me of a down-to-earth dude with no issues of race or creed. he told the story like it is and let people know he was hurt. unlike some nazi's in the sport, who clearly got their ass whipped and say, "oh, he was the better man tonight..." but before the fight was saying, "his chin hasn't been tested"...

Yeah it might be good tactic but its boring to watch. I only watch UFC, to see someone get knocked out or submitted ! In the first round.LOL Honestly he should have never stood back, and taken that abuse for that long to the legs ,should have just said fuk it, and gone in all or nothing . Losing is losing wether it be in the first round or 5th round. To take that kind of leg abuse for that long was not a good idea

@smokinace1974 Aldo utilized his leg kicks to slow down Faber and cause Faber not to go for takedowns (you ever tried to lift something after your legs have been beaten like that?) its called tactics. Its not being scared (btw he did kick Faber in the head a few times) I suggest you look up Pat Barry Leg Kicks. Do your research before you come in saying its a chicken shit move, its a really effective attack if set up correctly.
