A t-rail, if looked at from above or below, would look like the letter T; The same applies with an Omega rail. It looks like the letter Omega (in electronics, it stands for Ohms or resistance)
I know that, I meant what is the difference between the T rail and the Ω rail in functionality? Does one provide a smoother ride than the other, even though traction brakes cant grip the Omega?
I think the Ω rail does deliver a smoother ride, since one flaw in it won't affect the ride. But that is my opinion. I am not sure how much of a price diff there is, either.
In my opinion, the Omega rail will give a better ride because one flaw in it shouldn't affect the ride like a T rail could. They seem to be more robust because of the large area. As far as price too I am not sure what the diff is between them.
Absolutely. I cannot ride it until it is opened, though. The car istelf isn't even completely finished, and the building itself isn't that far away from being done. The elevator should be ready in about 3 weeks, and there may even be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the building and the elevator ;)
Hopefully I can also be the FIRST ONE TO RIDE IT!!! :D!!!
oh your so gay

OMG...Dover invented to "omega" rail.
An omega rail looks like the omega symbol. A main/guide rail looks like a "t"
Dover invented the omega for use in Hyrdros, than used them for counter weight rails.
Been out of the system for years now...but they suposadly are no good for high speed.

I know. I have a CD on Dover elevators.
It is not suitable for roped hydraulic and traction systems because the safeties cannot grip the omega rails like they can on T rails.

what exactly is the difference between T and Omega rails?

That was very cool! You're so lucky they let you go in the shaft and in the car, and even more lucky they let you film!
LOL that was so funny when he was talking about the "GPS" - "So you know what floor you're on!"
