The inspirations are Ambrosia, you get them from the Greater Devoured, and it's the Crystal Titan. The Inspirations protect you from the massive damage he does (He could take out a granite tanker that was at res cap in one or two hits).

They do have attack skills, but these are completely insignificant, and the damage they make is embarrassingly small and thus insignificant. Only moron players use them while playing an empathy defender.

What excuse do you have for not buffing your team mates other than that you are a high level n00b at lvl 48, and that you are clueless as to how Fortitude and AB work?!!

lol, this proves that you are a true n00b. you can't tell which "buff is on who"? you might want to take a look at the team window. there all inspirations, active shields, inherent skills etc are visible from all team mates.
a real empathy defender seldom looks at the main action on the main screen, cause all the empath does is to observe the team window in order to know who needs healing/buffing/AB. this is the most effective way to play a true empath.

Those inspirations are to lessen the damage from his attacks. They are picked up randomly in the instance. I was playing a lvl 48 empathy blaster. Nobody was taking much damage due to the radiation debuff.

It's called Ambrosia, and it's the ONLY resistance to the Crystal Titan's damage. Even a maxed out Granite Tanker has no resistance without Ambrosia.
